  1. Not enough touches to go around in Phoenix. This will probably backfire on them, chemistry wise. Whose their starting PG now? Cameron Payne?
  2. The upside of Vladdy having a sub-par season is they probably can sign him for cheaper than expected. Give him the 10yrs/210m deal.
  3. There’s no way Boston trade Carlo before Forbort, Grzelcyk, or Reilly. All of which have one year remaining, while Carlo has 3, at a reasonable cap. Even if they do decide to trade Carlo. There’s probably better offers from others teams that we possibly can’t beat (ie: Calgary could offer Hanifin for Carlo+). Worst case scenario, they could just buyout one of Forbort or Reilly and save 2.5m.
  4. Looks like Schneider took some of my advice and moved Whit up the batting order to 2nd. Bo is still hitting in front of Vladdy, though.
  5. Don’t worry the cap will rise each year. So, it lessen the pain. /s
  6. Messier vs. Benning vs. Keenan vs. Marchand in a Steel Cage match at Rogers Arena.

    1. Rubik

      Rubik

can we throw in some tigers? so we'll have someone to cheer for

    2. Wilbur

      Wilbur

Keenan wins that.  Just a gut feeling.

  7. Imagine going into FA in 2026, Makar is available, and we’re bidding for his service, but we’re 2m away from getting him.
  8. You mean the other years when we’re suppose to compete, and need every little cap space available to add to the roster?
  9. People who were excited about this trade never actually seen him play the last three or so seasons with the Coyotes. They saw the numbers he put up and his all-stars nods. And instantly thought he was a number one defensemen.
  10. Did you even watch the series? All the games were decided by one goal. Carolina’s and Florida’s xGA that series was almost a whole goal apart. Carolina also almost outshot the Panthers by 50. Tkachuk and Bob were the difference makers, that series. You might have a case for the Islanders, but the Rangers had the 6th best odds at winning the Stanley Cup, before the playoff started.
  11. Rangers had the reigning Vezina winner, and added two veteran Stanley Cup winners to their roster. Carolina loss two of their top 6 players and still managed to take the Panthers to their limit. A couple of bounces their way, and they could’ve easily swept the Panthers in 4 games.
  12. To be fair, Lucic wasn’t put in a role for him to succeed under Sutter. He probably thought this was the same Lucic he coached in LA. It’s a telling story when two of his most common linemates were Huberdeau and Kadri.
  13. Last time I check both the 2023 Hurricanes and Rangers had a better regular seasons record than the 2020 Blues and Knights.
  14. He’s 24 and like many Devils players. It’s their first experience in the playoffs. I think you can give him a bit of a pass. The Sedins had underwhelming runs during their first few years in the playoffs.
  15. I think at this point, you let Bo hit behind Vladdy and move up Merrifield up to second in the battling order. Against LHP: Springer Merrifield Guerrero Jr. Bichette Chapman Kirk Jansen Varsho Kiermaier Against RHP: Springer Varsho Guerrero Jr. Bichette Belt Kirk Chapman Merrifield Kiermaier
  16. For the record, New Jesery’s average weight this season was 197lbs, while Florida’s was at 195lbs. They were also an inch shorter than the Devils. The Devils didn’t lose in the playoffs because of their size. They beat the Rangers, who on average are 10 pounds heavier than them. They loss because of their lack of experience. They were the youngest team, in the playoffs this year. Bratt can also be a bit feisty. He dropped the gloves with Gunnarsson last year, after he hit Hughes.
  17. Pettersson had the exact same amount of hits as Bratt in the bubble, and he seem to do just fine in the “playoff”. This playoffs, Bratt averaged just about the same amount of hits as Stone, Eichel, and Lundell. The playoff isn’t just all about physicality. You need a balance of skill, durability, and physicality to be successful in the playoffs.
  18. Bratt had more hits in the playoffs than Severson, Graves, Marino, Mercer, and Tatar.
  19. Let’s see if you feel the same way in a few years, when Miller’s play start to deteriorate and we’re stuck with him for 4 more years at 8m. While Bratt will probably still be productive at the age of 28.
  20. It’s safe to say, this isn’t a managerial problem. Also, what the heck happened to Vladdy? All he does is hit singles with no one on.
  21. The Jays must be one the the worst in the league with runners in scoring position.
