  1. When everyone thought @sopel3 was actually Sopel.
  2. I think the management was so hard pressed on improving the team’s defense, because of the collapse to the Mariners. That they totally forgot, they actually need to score runs first. I mean, what’s defense good for, if you’re trailing in the game? Really all they had to do was trade one of Lourdes or Teo (preferably Lourdes). Sign Kiermaier, Bassitt, and Belt. Trade one of Kirk, Monero, or Jansen for bullpen help.
  3. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s been a privilege playing with you.
  4. Horvat has never been a player who throws hits or drop the gloves, even in junior. He had less than 80 PIMs in junior with over 150+ games. I don’t know where people got that he should be playing a meaner game, when he’s never been that type of player.
  5. Where did I say he’s going to be a failed captain? Because I said, don’t be surprised if he doesn’t stick up for his teammates? I never hated on Horvat for not sticking up for his teammates or his repetitive answers in post-game media. I thought he did a fine job for what he had to deal with in a Canadian market. He probably would still be here if management prioritized him first over Miller and signing Mikheyev. But whatever. Way to jump to conclusions, though.
  6. Whose says I’m not happy? If Horvat gets a bad rep as a captain for not sticking up for his teammates. You can’t just give Hughes a pass for it, if he decides not to engage in post whistle activities. Seriously, have you ever seen Hughes even give a jab to another player in hockey scrums?
  7. Man, I can’t wait for fans to turn on Hughes when he decides to not defend his teammates in scrums.
  8. I think it’s time to move Vladdy down the lineup. Have Schneider hit 3rd and Bo cleanup. Springer Clement Schneider Bichette Biggio/Chapman Vladdy Horwitz Kirk Kiermaier
  9. Apparently, it was a two way street. Babcock shared his family photos too. It isn’t any different from me asking my co-workers,”How was your vacation? Take any photos? May I see them?”
  10. The Royals must have hired 50 Cent as their pitching coach.
  11. Dillion the Villian drops 39 points on the USA to win bronze for Canada.
  12. Not offensively. Even with Teo’s slow start. His offensive WAR is at 2.3. Whereas, Varsho is at 0.3.
  13. Looks like we’re indeed getting Canada vs. USA……..for third place.
  14. Sanderson is pretty much a younger version of Jared Spurgeon. Chabot - Zub Chychrun - Brannstrom Sanderson - Hamonic That’s a pretty well balanced defensive core. Really, staying healthy is their only concern.
  15. https://thehockeywriters.com/nail-yakupov-profile/ Scotty Bowman even gave him high praise and said he hasn’t seen a prospect like him since Bure.
  16. Yakupov was viewed as the next Bure and was considered a sure-fire superstar in the league. He couldn’t even muster one good season in the NHL and was out of the league by 23.
  17. The onus is on the players on the field. How do you know he hasn’t been telling them? He’s won with the core guys (Bichette, Vladdy, Jansen, Romano, Biggio, etc) in A-ball and Triple-A, before. It’s not his fault, that his team is massively underperforming, when it comes to hitting with RISP. His management in games isn’t perfect, but neither is every other coach in the league. Terry Francona is probably the best coach in the majors, but even he has made some boneheaded decisions that cost his team games. Like bringing in the wrong reliever or not starting his ace, when available, because he wanted to save him for the opener for the next round.
  18. Lol, you can’t blame Schneider for the team blowing a 4-0 lead, then having his superstar player go 0-4 and leaving 7 players on base.
  19. For the record, Demko was part of the problem, at the beginning of the season, were he sported a nice GAA over 4 and a SV% under .900.
  20. I think Yakupov takes the cake on this one. Some will say Daigle, but at least Daigle had a couple of 50+ point seasons to his resume.
  21. J-Rod is pretty much carrying his team into the playoffs. Something we should be expecting from Vladdy in these crucial games.
  22. A healthy Couturier is back. Kopitar and Barkov always seem to be candidates. As well as Stone, even if he plays half a season. It’s really a long shot for Pettersson, unless he blows everyone out of the water in the defensive analytics department.
