Go Giants @Gollumpus! How can you not cheer for them? They’re a bunch of old smucks, all playing like they’re in their prime years. -

I can’t believe how far Yelich and Bellinger have fallen since their MVP days. I thought last year was just an anomaly, with the shorten season, but these two are barely passable MLB players, the way how they’re slugging. -

If I where to choose between Ray and Semien to re-sign. I’ll probably pick Semien over Ray and find an cheap arm in the FA market. But I also wouldn’t go over 20M a year for him. Some option on the pitching market. - Dan Duffy - Dylan Bundy - Jon Gray - Noah Syndergaard (a bit of a risk) - Julio Teheran -

As much as I give Shatkins a hard time. You can’t really fault them for the early injuries to Cole, Phelps, Yates, Hatch, Borucki, and Merryweather. All in a span of a week or so. -

Boston has Sale starting tomorrow. Don’t think they’ll be losing. Yankees announced Tallion as their starter. He’s been up and down, this season, but with the Rays resting a lot of their starters (most likely). I probably give the Yankees the edge in winning. -

Man, it’s pretty discouraging that the Jays have two MVP candidates, a possible Cy Young winner, 6 players with 20+ HRs, 4 players with 25+ HRs with 100+ RBIs, a run differential of +100, and in the end, still could miss the playoffs. -
Elias Pettersson | Quinn Hughes - Contract Discussion Thread
shiznak replied to Bertuzzipunch's topic in Canucks Talk
It’s not all about offensive numbers. Those two are on their 3rd contracts, and have established they can play at both ends of the ice. While being the go-to-guy for a franchise. Hughes is on his 2nd contract, who has holes in his games and is taking up nearly 9% of the team’s cap. For comparison Hamilton took just over 8% on his second contract and Jones took 7%. -

Hughes’ contract is probably a million more than I would have liked. Especially, if he doesn’t improve on the defensive side of his game. -

Big mountain to climb for the Jays. Jays need to sweep the Orioles. While the Mariners and Red Sox need to both lose two games. For the Jays to secure the 2nd wildcard spot. -

Jack Eichel no longer captain of Sabres
shiznak replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
That’s part of the consequences of playing in an unionized sport. Athletes should know once they sign a contract. The team have the rights to take care of your body, willingly. It’s been like that, forever. In all sports. Eichel had the rights to seek another opinion, given permission by the team and its doctors. Which he didn’t even bother asking. That was a red flag on his part. Whether it’s the “correct” procedure or not, it’s up to the league and their third party. Not Eichel’s
