  1. The last 5 series are against AL teams, so it pretty much do or die the rest of the season.
  2. To be fair, if you lived in a city for a long period of time, it’s bound to get boring. I’m sure most New Yorkers/Californians would say New York/LA are boring cities to live in, after awhile.
  3. Did Springer lose all ability to hit the ball or something?
  4. At this point, the Jays just need to stay ahead of the Red Sox and Yankees. Both of which loss today, so it ain’t all bad. However, the Angels won.
  5. Because, Biggio is hitting over .350 in the last month, while Belt is hitting .214.
  6. I think it was Matteau, because a few years later Linden fought him when Matteau was with the Blues. Knowing Linden, he rarely fought anybody, unless there was a reason.
  7. He’s been feature in NHL promo, because he’s talented, not because they love the guy. It’s like Tom Brady in football. He’s probably the most hated guy in football, yet he’s recognized by the league as the greatest of all-time, because of his talent on the field.
  8. Aside from Bruins fans, who the hell thinks Marchand is a hero? I’m pretty sure he’s disliked league wide. Also, Bertuzzi legitimately caused an assault and ended a guys career. He literally stalked the guy the whole shift, wanting another fight, and when he didn’t get his way. He blindsided him with a punch to the temple. Looking back, the whole Free Bertuzzi campaign (which sadly I was apart of), was dumb. Loved Bertuzzi, but the punishment he got was deserving.
  9. I remember reading somewhere it was Matteau, who originally hit Linden.
  10. So, why can’t I have both Stephenson and Machessault at their current cap, then?
  11. Toews is a left handed defensemen, and is due for an enormous raise, but whatever. Who are your next options? Larsson? Barrie? Montour? All who need raises within a year or two.
  12. So the option is, one elite superstar and a top 4 RHD vs. Two 1st liners? Looking at the top 4 RHD defensemen making 5m or under (excluding Andersson, Dobson, and Hronek, who all need a new contract after this season). It’s not an impressive list. I think you’d take the latter.
  13. The original argument is depth scoring in your top 6 > one elite superstar. Any GM would agree to that and I think what happened to Florida in the finals, just prove my case. Once Tkachuk was injured, no one else stepped up and they got destroyed. That’d be the same fate with us and Pettersson. I don’t care how much they cost. That up to the team’s GM to figure out, how to keep the core intact.
  14. I don’t know what world you live in but, neither Boeser or Garland are first liners.
  15. The point wasn’t even about the salaries. All I’m trying to prove is two 1st liners, scoring at a 50-60 point rate is always better than just one elite 1st liner, who scores 100 points. I don’t even know why you brought up salaries. It’s like asking yourself which would you rather have? 2 prime Kesler or one Sedin brother?
  16. Mittelstadt just scored 59 points, playing 3rd line minutes, and has finally come into his own. One of the most underrated playmakers in the league. Batherson had one of the most team friendly contract in the league. But, but….. Verhaeghe needs a new contract soon.
  17. I could take Keller and Dubois, and it would still be better than just Pettersson, despite of their cap. Besides, according to some people, Pettersson is getting 13m+.
  18. Any two combination on that list, would be better than just Pettersson. Heck I’ll even take the two worst, Batherson and Mittelstadt.
  19. Man, do you guys not read or what is a hypothetical question? I literally said, I wouldn’t trade Pettersson for those both those guys at this current stage of their careers, but IF they were the same age, and produced the points production at their peak. I would definitely would.
  20. Even if they only become 50-60 players, throughout their careers. I’d still be satisfied. Marchessault and Stephenson, who may not be superstars in the league; are the guys who do everything possible to win, even though they might not score as often. Pettersson does as well, with more of an offensive threat, but he’s only one guy. Like what if Pettersson gets injured in the playoffs? We’d be pretty much screwed. Just look at what happened with Florida and Tkachuk. I can almost guarantee Pettersson will never reach the 150 points mark, unless he plays with McDavid. There’s only been one player (McDavid) to ever reach the 150 points plateau since 1995. I’d even wager to bet he’ll barely reach the 120 mark.
  21. No, I’m saying if both those players had the same production now, at the age of 24. I would take both those guys over Pettersson.
  22. It’s remarkable what Jay Jackson is doing, considering what’s going on with his personal life.
  23. They do, but O’Reilly has had the reputation of being a Selke vote getter since his second season in the pros and actually winning the award. Unlike Pettersson, who only been recognized this season.
