  1. Still a better chance of working out than a second. A young "reclamation project" will also be available immediately, whereas a 2nd round is probably 4-5 years away, at least. How does that help Petey, Hughes etc?
  2. Meh on 2nd rounders, especially late round 2nds. I'd rather see a player coming back.
  3. Fair point on the NCAA angle, that might have been a factor. However, I don't think they're that smart, I think they falsely believed he would pass through and lost an important member of the Abby Canucks ........a player they really need right now. They clearly see Abby as an important entity and see they need to be successful. I think they got caught being careless
  4. I honestly don't know what to think of this group. It's like a roller coaster
  5. Luke is definitely one I could see being moved and then going to UFA and sign with Van. It sounds like he has a real home here.
  6. They are playing well and their last 5 games have been against the top teams in the AHL and though they only came out with one win, they played very, very well.
  7. You think a goal a game is just "good"? The kids need to be in a winning environment, that's the very best thing for them.......losing pedersen for no reason is a terrible way to manage an important asset.
  8. Yet still on pace for a 50 point season, despite getting (mostly) 3rd line mins.
  9. Being part of a winning culture is more like important to development than being the go to guy and failing Again, it's not the end of the world, but I don't think Abby can sustain their winning ways by losing both goalies, Pedersen and Lockwood. It was an unnecessary mistake that will hurt the org.
  10. Nashville feels the same way about Fabbro I think. I feel the same way about Bies, but he's still on pace to put up solid numbers Might be a win-win.
  11. they've been doing well, but not winning much lately, mostly because they are playing high calibre teams. But they've taken both goalies, Dries, Lockwood, Pedersen, DiG (who is back), eventually that's going to take it's toll on the team and the young players if they start sliding.
  12. I agree and it was so unnecessary as it's not like he was playing regularly in Van. All they had to do was send him down on day 29 and all would be fine. This is a really frustrating management group because I can't pin them down. They either make great moves (Kuz, Joshua, Mik) or horribly stupid moves (Pedersen, Miller, Boes, BB).
  13. non lottery teams would be fine with it. Beyond the top 5-6, it's an average or slightly above average draft.
  14. Boeser for fabbro They're not rebuilding, they have a stable of veteran players with unmovable contracts. They're going to want to compete. Further to that, Boeser isn't a player on the downside of his career, he'll be in his prime for a solid 5 years there.
  15. I'm looking at it from Abby's perspective. It's poor management to lose an impact player, even if it is in the AHL.
  16. But he was a difference maker in Abby and a huge part in turning their season around and providing a good opportunity for the young guys to build confidence by winning. I'm not saying Abby isn't going to still be good, but it's a waste of a good player due to mismanagement
  17. Again, he was great for the young guys in Abby. He should have been sent down on day 29
  18. It makes abby worse though and that matters for the kids
  19. Except I don't want a prospect up in van, I want them to stay in Abby. They've got a great thing going on down there.
  20. He's hugely important in Abby and therefore hugely important for the young players there. It was poor management
