  1. Funny how he gets to invoke that clause but doesn't give JB the same courtesy when talking about the "cap mess"......he conveniently leaves out that JB signed deals under the expected rise of the cap, but had to deal with a very sudden flat cap
  2. That would be short lived........no way a team will be able to afford AM and CB for longer than bedards elc
  3. I agree about SP.......he had a good tourney, but nothing about him said sure fire NHL player to me. I think the current situation with Russia has really dropped Michov off the radar and in previous international tournaments he's looked almost on par with Bedard. I really wish we could have seen Russia at the WJHC. Will the Russia contract situation scare enough teams to see him drop like Podz? Would PA have the stones to take that risk?
  4. By island I meant "sell high on boeser" three years ago.
  5. I was lonely on the Boeser island too and then lonely on the Miller island as well. I'm pretty confident in the way I look at hockey
  6. marginally better, but Miller is toxic. As long as he is on the team, it will never be Petey's team
  7. I'd say he, Boeser and the coaching staff are major issues, yes.
  8. losing Bo and Kuz and keeping Miller and Boeser will be a death blow for this team. I see no reason they can't deal Miller. He's still a top player on a decent contract for what he brings. There'll be takers, they just won't get the home run they could have gotten
  9. I thought Guenther was good on the pp in the wjhc, other than that he was mostly invisible. He'll be an NHL player, but I don't see him being a difference maker. I like OEL, on the ice and in the room and if Garland stays, he's a good addition to the lineup and if they move him, they'll get something decent for him.
  10. as long as Miller is on this team, they are going to struggle. Once Bo is gone, I expect an exodus of players, including Petey
  11. yup, really. A top 2 dman and a 40-50 point guy, for Guenther? I'll take that every time
  12. I'd say they got good value for their 1st rounders, which are the ones that count
  13. Disagree it's overblown, it's right out there on the open for everyone to see As far as Kessler goes, he was accountable on the ice and he left it all out there, every shift. JT.......not so much
  14. What an insult to Horvat too........"prior to this year", after you open the bank for Miller based on one year
  15. Not going to happen, imo. And, honestly, I'm not sure I want it to. I get that ges going to be a generational player, but by the time he's 21, he's going to want 10m+ a year and that's going to cause cap problems down the road. These top picks seem great, but they create a lot of issues as well and the teams that get them have very short windows to win.
  16. It's the attitude, it's toxic in the room. If this is going to be Petey's team, JT has to go because he will always see it as JT's team
  17. I don't see Hughes as untouchable, quite the opposite. He'd bring in a massive return that could change the course of this franchise for a long time.
  18. Top 15-20 picks, hold onto them. The rest are probably more valuable as trade chips.......the rub is making sure they are used well. Too many people obssess over "youth", when it's really veteran teams who will n championships.
  19. As one who gets labelled a JT hater, and I'm hard on him for good reason, I actually think his contract is not bad, just bad for this team.
  20. That's the one part of his "vision" I agree with. Not that drafting players isn't part of it, but draft picks are lottery tickets, whereas young players are known commodities. For example, you might get a second rounder from someone, but that has a high probability of being nothing more than a career AHL player. However, if you dealt with Washington, you might get Iorio in a deal, who was a second rounder 2 years ago who is now looking very promising. I'd rather have Iorio
  21. Colorado started their rebuild over a decade ago, same with TB
  22. If they lose Bo and kuz and keep Miller and Boeser, that'll be it for me, for awhile. Abbotsford and the Canes
