That's how hockey has always been, how it always will be -

Sergachev would go as well, but whoever jumped in would get the extra 2. I'd rather have the chance to complete the comeback -

And they did that already. Tearing down at this point means starting over and waiting another 7 years to get to the same place they're at right now, the same place all rebuilding teams get to -

Nope, that's not how hockey works. The retaliator always gets an extra 2 -

So someone shows "leadership" and retaliates against Sergachev, gets a penalty and takes any chance of completing the comeback away That's leadership? -

Well, starting a new rebuild isn't going to accomplish that any time in the next 10 years, nor is there much evidence that it ever leads to a Cup -

Would you prefer an owner who cuts expenses and spends the bare minimum? -

I shattered my hand 4 years ago reaching down for a ground ball........surgery, plates, pins and it's maybe 65% of what it was before. Pain every day. I feel bad for TP, that's a tough injury for a hockey player -
Edit- Rick Tocchet Expected To Be Next Head Coach

Zero chance BB is back next year........I just hope the Tocchet rumour is just that, a rumour. -

I like where they're in the middle of shelling and Dike says to Luzz "you stay here, I'm going for help" and takes off. Luzz looks at Lip and mouths "what da f***?". I feel like that's how Petey is feeling today. BB has checked out -
I hate that the CHL drafts players from Europe who have no intention of playing in the chl. If he doesn't want to play there, he should be free to play in the AHL.

It's not entirely his fault, but he owns a good chunk of it. I get that he's never been much of a systems coach and that works on with skilled veteran teams, but he should have seen that wouldnt work in Van and made the necessary adjustments or hire an asst coach who is a good systems guy to implement some structure. A lot of people will say "no system would help this terrible roster", but those are exactly the teams that a well structured system does help. -

Up until this week, I agreed. Let's just ride it out until the off season and let him ride into the sunset of retirement, but he's even stopped mailing it in at this point. If anyone has ever watched Band of Brothers, there's an episode where Easy Company has been tasked with taking up positions in the Ardenne Forest, near Bastogne. They are short of men, winter clothes, food etc and they're surrounded by Germans. However, their biggest problem is their Company Commander has been promoted and they bring in a replacement officer to lead the company. This guy, Lt Dike, is an absent leader, he doesn't make decisions, he disappears all the time and in combat he freezes up when needed most. At one point, a company sergeant goes to the XO on the eve of a battle to express his concerns about Lt Dike, calling him "an empty uniform". That's how I feel about BB this year, hes an empty uniform. I think the damage to the psyche of the team is more detrimental than the upside of just letting him go to the end of the year. When you look at Petey's body language lately, it is not good. -
it was almost all Demko standing on his head, to say otherwise is ridiculous. They were every bit as bad defensively last year, they just had an all world goalie to hide that wart And poor defensive play? That's all coaching I was more referring (this time) to the possibility of EL being a healthy scrath, even though he's been the best dman in the last 2 months........while Miller seems to get free pass after free pass. He's a terrible coach

[Report] Tanner Pearson to miss the remainder of 2022-23 season

Nothing wrong with his cap hit in context on what he provides. That's how much players like him cost -

there aren't many "needle movers" on a team and you need players like Pearson to be successful. Hopefully he's back healthy and ready to go next season -
That's why they need to negotiate asap, to find out where they are at. I don't see him getting a long deal.......I think most teams, teams he'd want to play for, would be only be comfy in the 3 year range. He hasn't played a full season yet and still has a lot to prove. Hopefully he really likes playing with Petey.

And I think that's exactly what he would have done with miller -
Canucks Management "NO-SHOW's" at STH/Memebers only meeting.
stawns replied to RU SERIOUS's topic in Canucks Talk
People whine ad neauseum about a "rebuild".......guess what? They're already in the middle of a rebuild and they're at a spot all rebuilding teams get to........a good young core of players that need to be supported as the core. Now people want to blow it up and start again, only to wait another 7 years to get to this exact same spot? There's the makings of a good team in there, but the management team and coaching staff don't seem to see it, or don't care. All the self flagellation about ownership, but if you owned a team, spent 7 years watching someone rebuild it, would you want to flush it all down the toilet and start again? I don't but that FA is some evil puppeteer pulling the strings from above.......if anything he's guilty for caving into fans and firing a GM who did actually have a plan and likely would have had this team past this spot already. Don't have the stomach for a rebuild? Give me a break, the vocal minority don't have the stomach to see this to fruition
