  1. Hampus Lindholm would not be playing at OEL's level if he were in Van. Schenn and OEL are the two holding that dcorp together
  2. Yup, playing with little to defensive system and with a group of fwds who desperately need one. The dcorp takes a lot of unwarranted flak for things that are not their fault, but end up looking like the bad guys
  3. Not really, you're paying dman that much, minimum, to do what OEL does, but they likely wouldn't have got one any other way
  4. Again, where else were they going to get a top 3 day, especially at $7m. He's earned his keep
  5. Why? He's a top 3 damn who can play big mins, play in all situations and has good leadership skills. They'd have to pay for that one way or another, and the price the paid was well worth it. His contract certainly hadn't complicated anything.......not until this group made it complicated
  6. The moves JB gets flak for were harmless deals because he knew what the real timeline was. None of the players he signed were going to impede his ability to support the real core of the team as they started to take over. All his "terrible deals" were set to expire in the next or two, right when Petey becomes "the" guy. This management team.hss f***** this up far worse than JB would have.
  7. All they had to do was make two moves and all would have been peachy keen. But they didn't, they made things far far more complicated than I thought anyone could and are now looking for someone else to blame. He'd make a great MAGA
  8. C'mon, even the most ardent miller supporters admit this.
  9. Man, BB is driving this tank hard. There isn't an identifiable defensive system that I can see........he sure out to be disappointing. However, the most disappointing thing about that game was the Rutherford quote between the second and third. How blind can you be? The cap situation wasn't that complicated, you complicated by not trading miller and boeser and then signing them to a combined $15m, then going out and spending the rest on fwds. Say what you, but JB had a plan and he had a deliberate timeline he was following. This management group has fumbled this far worse than anything JB did, but want to put them blame on anyone but that blosted front office. There are too many people in this org who want to deflect any responsibility........I'm honestly at the point where I'd like too all management and coaches fired and hire the twins to run this team.
  10. We were talking specifically about millers giveaways, overall, not just pp
  11. It's a decently reasonable contract for a player of miller's calibre, especially for a contending team.......it's just not a good contract for vancouver
  12. It's not the play that's the problem, it's millers lazy, sloppy execution of it.......or lack thereof. There's not really much point trying to defend it, we've all see him do it over and over again.
  13. OEL isnt an anchor as he has positive value for the team and he'd just have to be replaced at a similar cost regardless. If they had an in house replacement for him, sure......but they don't.
  14. Sorry, I disagree. His giveaways, more often than not, are the result of him being lazy and sloppy on what should be easy plays. Plays like easy passes to the dman on the pp, or into the bumper spot etc etc.
  15. I don't see why not........same logic that they can trade him now before his NTC kicks in on his new deal.
  16. Didn't really seem like he was a big fan of Canada
  17. I disagree..... He'd be good added d depth for a playoff run, he can skate, play physical and can log big mins if you need him to. You put him with a better coach with a disciplined defensive system and he'd be fine......and they wouldnt have to pay a steep price to add him. Guarantee there'd be a few teams that would take a flyer on him.
  18. What opportunity cost? They're not winning the Cup next year.
  19. Tdl 2024, every contender will have cap space to fit him in.
  20. They couldn't move him now, imo. Not without a sweetener and this club is no position to give away prospects or picks to get rid of a player......not when he only has one more season left on his deal
  21. But why not get an asset for him? If cap doesn't matter, why wouldn't you hang onto him for that asset. Whatever it is, is better than nothing.
  22. Or just ride it out until tdl 2024 and get something for him.
