  1. Disagree and that was pre-salary cap when you could buy your way out of trouble
  2. I don't see anyone saying he's not a great player.......quite the opposite actually No one really has an issue with Miller when he's "up", but millers downs, and there are lots of them, don't make his upswings worth it.
  3. Exactly They can ride out Myers, they can ride out boeser (ugh), but they can't ride out millers deal. If they miss this window, it's miller and his attitude for 7 years.
  4. If they weren't willing to part with Jarvis, I'm ok with other pieces. The goal is to get rid of Miller. JK 2023 1st 2024 1st Both of which are, essentially, 2nd rounders
  5. I look at possession as being more important than you do obviously. Losing horvat will set this franchise way back
  6. I disagree.......Jarvis is an undersized winger who's played decently well, but will likely never be as productive or impactful as Miller. Miller makes them the clear cut favourite for the Cup, imo.
  7. One person doesn't lead a team anywhere, but he is the captain and leader of the team. It's up to management to get the coach the right players and up to the coach to get them to play systems that will be successful.......tysts mostly where the failure is. Two players fans can't complain about through any of this is Horvat and Petey.......they're carrying this team on their backs
  8. Because they can absorb the loss of Miller. Losing horvat and keeping miller will cripple the franchise imo. On top of being an elite faceoff guy, good two way cman, the leader on the team, a consistent offensive producer, he's now added top level goal scorer to his resume. And if you think Millers attitude stinks now, wait until horvats gone and miller realizes he's signed on to a team going in the opposite direction he wants his s career to go. He'll be intolerable on the ice and in the room. How do you think Petey is going to react to that?
  9. I don't think so, no. They can absorb the loss of a winger more than a dman as tyeyll need morrow to step in over the next year or two.
  10. I believe he will and I think he could become a Jordan Staal type of player in the right situation.
  11. I don't think they'd give up morrow, but they might give up Jarvis to get from under Kot's contract and add Miller. They are in win now mode and miller pushes them to the top of the pack, imo. Carolina gets rid of Patches $7m deal in the off season and have Necas for one more year at $3.5. they can afford Miller and he would help keep that window open for a few years for thrm The first would also be, essentially, a high 2nd.
  12. Miller is a top line player who could push like Carolina over the top and keep them.there for a few years. Not like he's a useless player and the Canucks are trying to dump him. He'll make whichever team gets him much better. Circumstances have changed since they signed that deal, I'm sure even this management team sees that. They have one last window to fix their mistake
  13. Do you think it'd be miller for Kot straight up? Is that what you're circling around?
  14. I thought everyone but Petey was on the menu. You're fooling yourself if you think they're not seriously listening to potential deals for miller. This is their last chance for a few years and it's pretty clear miller isn't the player they thought he was
  15. One is 30 and declining, one (a 3rd overall) is 22 and still developing. One will be untradable until his contract expires, one will likely have decent value as his term decreases and more so if he finds his game. One is an actual C and a good 200 ft player, one is a w and mostly allergic to defensive play One of those contracts gives the Canucks $3.5m of cap space, one eats up $4m of cap.space
  16. Why is management cuffed to miller? His NTC doesn't kick in until next season.
  17. And you better believe I'm desperate for them to move Miller.........we all should be.
  18. Saves them $3.5m per year for a bonafide C who is only 22. How is it worse?
  19. Because it's miller or horvst and it's pretty clear who the more important player, who the better locker room guy is and who fans prefer.
  20. It's a risk, but not a huge one. He's only 22 and is a solid defensive C, at the very least. That would give them great depth down the middle. Further to him being yound, he's still got a CPL seasons before a m-ntc kicks in and as years come off his deal, his value goes up. Again, it'd have to come with a significant sweetener
  21. They've got a pretty good stable of young players 22 and under, they've got an excellent goalie and one of the best two way C's in the league (two of them if you count Petey) and some decent assets to deal with. There's been far, far worse eras than this.
