  1. I don't think so. I think it's 5-- years of building and a cpl years of playoff bubble........not to.mention after three years they will have to pay Bedard and there goes the window.
  2. OEL has played well, as has Garland, who will likely bring something back in a deal. I have zero issues with the trade and don't think Guenther is going to amount to much in AZ.
  3. Again, it's the lack of systems and structure, imo. Systems are all about ouck support and I see none of that on the ice
  4. I honestly don't think there is much in the way of structured systems from this coaching staff. The dcorp looks bad, but it's mostly because they don't have any outlet fwds in a safe vicinity and their options are minimal. This is as much a coaching issue as it is a personnel issue......they need a coach with well defined systems and the ability to teach those systems and hold players accountable when they deviate from that system.
  5. Benning got fired for hanging onto green. The OEL trade was a good trade
  6. Nothing they get in a deal is going to replace what bo brings to this team. Lose him and it's a full on rebuild, imo, and that'll be many years in the making and then even more to get to contrnder..........look at the Oilers, they drafter McD in 2015 and are out of the playoff picture right now. They need to stay the course of their current rebuild, make a few bold moves and focus on the right core and they can get past this spot, like most contenders have in the past.
  7. I'd let LS make that call honestly. He may very well want to end his career in van and I, for one, support that 100%. People talk about the lack of culture in this org.........that's how you build a culture
  8. I wouldn't move schenn either........they need more of that, not less. You can move an NMC player if they want to go. Not sure why oel would want to leave Van though, especially with young swedes coming up
  9. OEL should stay, imo. He's sold d back there and he's a good leader. He also has a NMC, so he likely isn't going anywhere anyway
  10. If they lose Bo, they might as well throw in the towel and clean house
  11. not if the management groups shows some guts. I think they can be good next year if they make the right moves. Lots of pieces I like on this team
  12. they lose Bo and it'll be a decade........it'll be a mass exodus, imo.
  13. that's a pivot, not a rebuild. Hopefully they recognize the right core to build around
  14. they'll have to add a sweetener to get rid of him this year. Next year, with an expiring contract, they might actually get some value from him
  15. I don't think so. There's a good core of players in there, management just has to have the guts to commit to it. Lots of rebuilding teams get to this point, make a bold move or two and get back on track
  16. for all the talk and bluster from this management group.......we'd all be a lot more supportive, regardless of play, if there were evidence of some kind of plan or path
  17. I think he's built up enough cred around the league for teams to overlook short term struggles
  18. no thanks, that's another decade, at least, and goodbye to Petey and Demko. I don't want to see Petey succeed in another uniform, I want him to get a shot in Van.
  19. No leadership from management regarding a direction for the team and no leadership from the coaching staff on any kind of structured play at all.
