  1. C'mon, do you really believe anything coming out of the mouths of this management group?
  2. Completely disagree........it was a combination of a non existent defensive system and horrible goaltending.
  3. I don't think theyll sacrifice prospects to move people out, especially Myers who will have actual value at the tdl. Why would they pay to move him when they can wait 5 months and get paid to move him. OEL has a NMC, so it would be way to expensive to move him and he'll be back to being a solid dman under the new system. I think they have to ride out two seasons with OEL and then decide what to do.
  4. Why will Miller be impossible to move? Pittsburgh reportedly wanted him at the deadline and that is still, allegedly, a possibility......according to the SN panel between periods. Depending on what they could get back, they can use those assets to find a 2C. If Boeser finishes hard, he will be moveable, imo, they just won't get much for him and will have to take on cap or retain.
  5. How is that the lesser of two evils? OEL will be back to being a solid dman now that they have a good defensive system and demko back. Hard to be effective when there is no defensive structure and your goalies combined save % is in the .880's.
  6. That would be as bad as buying out OEL, when all they have to do is keep him until the tdl and actually get something for him. If they can trade him without adding, that's fine, but paying a team to take a good dman on an expiring contract makes no sense
  7. So how will you feel when OEL comes back and plays very well within the new defensive structure?
  8. They're going to have to lose some good players over the summer and I was happy to hear the panel say a Miller deal was still a possibility.......it really is the best way to get compliant as well as get some assets at the same time.
  9. How is Garland invisible? I will be laughing when OEL comes back to a strong defensive system and all of a sudden people will be amazed at how he's "rebounded" without thinking about the importance of a good defensive system and how that impacts the dcorps. Already people are doing it with "where was this Myers all season" rhetoric.
  10. Just because you don't think it wasn't, doesn't mean it's true. They drafted two elite players, drafted a good, young core to go with him, had an elite goalie drafted and developed ready to go, added some good pieces in the mean time. Newsflash, that's how you rebuild
  11. He's a year older than Petey, how is it the "wrong" time? Don't we want players in that age range on the team?
  12. They started their rebuild when they drafted Petey, now they're at the same stage Colorado was at........they have to make some bold moves to get past it. You want them to start the process over again and go back to the beginning of a ten year process.......it ain't going to happen as long as they have Petey, Hughes and Demko
  13. I think if he weren't new you'd probably see that, but he wants to see how hard he can push his top guts and how well they respond to being pushed. He has to get ro know his guys and what they can and can't handle. I do think they should have held on to BB for the year, but that would have been cruel to a coach who doesn't deserve that. With this top 15, I don't see anyway they are dealing that pick, but if they did you can be sure it would be an excellent, young player coming back
  14. So you're expecting a professional coach and former player to be on board with not doing the best they can do? They are professionals and they are competitors......they're not wired that way. I do get exactly where you coming from and understand it and agree with it, but I'm tired of feeling miserable around this team and it feels good to feel good about them. They're not going to fall so far that they aren't going to get a fantastic player, the top 15 in this draft is just too deep not to. So, I'm going to cheer for wins, be more than fine if they don't win, and just accept the chips where they fall because they are getting a top notch piece one way or the other.
  15. Again, nothing to do with pressure and everything to do with coaching and goaltending
