  1. that's why Calgary is one fo the top teams in the league......they take away your time and space. The Flames are looking like they are picking up where they left off at the end of the regular season last year.
  2. They've played mostly in Calgary's zone, imo. Horvat and Miller have had some good possession time so far.
  3. That's a dirty play no doubt.......I'm all for being prepared for contact, you should, but that's over the line. Doesn't make me like him any less however and it's nice to see he has some bite. On a related note......5 games? He should have come to Utica instead.
  4. Gonna be in tough against a good Flames team tonight. I'm hoping for a point!
  5. except it's kind of the kiss of death to get a letter at the AHL level. Often means you are there to stay.
  6. you say potatoe, I say potato. It was the worst game Ive seen BB play as a Canuck.
  7. Brock was terrible, which given the holdout and concussion is understandable, but he was probably the worst Canuck on the ice and if Gaud isn't getting into a top 6 spot, he should be in Utica. Sorry, jake's numbers simply don't back your argument up.
  8. Well, AG is far more suited to play a top 6 role than a bottom 6 role. I make no secret that I think Jake has earned a better chance than he gets and the numbers back that up. Why does Boeser get a free pass for an absolutely horrid game, outside of one play?
  9. replace the only guy who threw a hit? How about Boeser? He was Gaud awful
  10. it would have been funny last night, in the gdt, if it hadn't been so pathetic.
  11. If Myers can keep his game simple, like he did last night, that pairing is going to be very good.
  12. I'm with you that Bo's line should start the games......they are, truly, the top line. By the time players to this stage, rah rah pre-game speeches don't have much effect, imo.
  13. He can tinker with pre-game routine, for sure, but most players have their own pre-game routine that they follow, as opposed to a team one. I think TG is in a feeling out process with all the new faces and lines too........he has to figure out which lines work well together and which ones are the best to start games to set the tone. Like others, i do feel he trys to match lines a little too much, rather than just rolling his 4 lines a little more than he does. I'd like to see him being more proactive than reactive, no argument
  14. i thought Schaller had a very good game last night, but I'm not really a fan of Leivo at all.
  15. Green doesn't have a ps4 controller on the bench. All coaches want their teams to come out of the gate flying, it's up to the players to do it. I agree that lack of chemistry was the problem last night......first period was frantic, for sure, but they settled down after that. I know one thing, teams are going to have a hard time handling Bo, Pearson and Miller........big, fast, skilled and physical down low.
  16. Disagree, the bottom 6 was fine. Their best players were better than the Canucks best players.......that's where the difference was. Petey, Boes' and Ferland need to be much, much better. All in all that should have been a 4-1 win for the Canucks. They outplayed them for the majority of the game and Bo's line should have had 3-4. Smith won that game for Edmonton
  17. How did the bottom six not play well? That seems to be the mantra after that game, but I can't see what they could have done much differently. Their job is, literally, to prevent goals, which they did. Of the 4 lines, Petey's looked the worst, how about pointing fingers there if you need to point fingers at all
  18. Not spectacular, but I didn't mind Vans game. They had some great stretches and ran into a hot goalie. That could have been 4-1 coming down the stretch. Myers played a simple game and was probably the best dman for either team tonight. Eddy was up and down, but can still play heavy mins. Benn was quiet, but that's what you want from him. Hughes was a bit of a wild ride.........thrilling and dangerous on one hand, terrifying on the other. Still he got better as the game went on. Stetcher........I think Breezer is a better option at this point and Stetch is lucky he's right handed I think. P-H-M was dominant after the first period and should have had three. Truly, that's the top line and the better they play, the better it's going to get for Petey and Boes. Petey had good moments, but looked like he can feel the pressure a bit. Ferland started out good, but disappeared. Boes' made a nice play on Eddie's goal, but didn't have a good night otherwise. The bottom six did what they were supposed to do. Though Sutter made a poor play on the McD goal, he was pretty steady throughout. Im not a fan of Leivos game though, and it would have been him going to Utica, not Baer. Jake's game better as he got a little more ice time. Beagle and Schaller were the best in the bottom 6, imo......I can't wait for Rous to get back though. Marky was brilliant, at times, but needs to.hold the fort as the game winds down. All in all, a C+ game for them
  19. What I saw was a quick turnover where Tanev got caught in the first steps to a change and couldn't get back when he realized that McD was coming through. Hughes didn't seem to be aware of Tanev out of position. Ultimately, it was one of the best being one of the best.
