  1. I never thought they were going to keep him. But they could have sent AG down, without consequence, and bought some time to find a new home for Baer and helped him save a little face. He's earned that respect, imo.
  2. I'm not sure why that wouldn't apply to AG then? Breezer did just as much, as a dman, to earn a spot as AG did, imo. I think they both would be better off playing big mins in Utica
  3. no argument here........I expected him to be gone at some point this season.
  4. Shrug, I just think it's a move that's beneath this group, a group that is always talking about the importance of character.
  5. there were other, far less humiliating ways of parting company wth Baer, imo. .
  6. during a a tough transition for the franchise Baer was nothing but class and the ultimate professional, imo. He worked hard, set an example for other players and when healthy, was a consistent producer. I guarantee you he feels publically humiliated.........I just don't agree with putting him through that, especially after a solid pre-season.
  7. To be fair, they would actually have to be able to attract free agents in the first place to set that standard!
  8. I don't disagree, at all, and I'm not even arguing the logic of it.......just that Baer doesn't deserve the humiliation of it
  9. The gesture is still humiliating for Baer. He deserves and has earned better, imo.
  10. Maybe not right now, but once the season starts and teams start seeing where they need to tinker, something would have come up, I'm sure.
  11. No, I don't think it is......not when you have a player in AG who could be sent down without waivers, giving JB time to find a better way. Regardless, what's done is done.
  12. I think there were better ways to go about it. AG should have been sent to Utica, giving JB time to work something out. You can't claim players make it on merit and then waive Baer, imo. It's not a move that's going to have a huge impact on the ice and I expected them to part ways with him at some point this season, I just think they didn't go about it the right way.
  13. Even if there's more to it, it's an insulting move to a very highly respected player in the dressing room
  14. LE was never going down, imo. I figured Schaller would be though. JHS oozes something, no argument here.
  15. I'm not disappointed because it's not LE going down, I never expected that. I'm disappointed because Baer played very well in pre-season, is a classy player and deserved better than this, imo.
