  1. I'd love to see a venn diagram of those now preaching "he earned it" and those crying about asset management a cpl seasons ago.
  2. This gets worse for Dubas every time a new deal is announced
  3. Ferland Petey Boes Baer Bo Miller Pearson Sutter Virt LE Beagle Motte Goldy, Leivo.........one of Leivo or Goldy moved when Rous gets back. If I were a betting man, that would be my bet.
  4. established players ease into the pre-season and then turn their game up once the reg season starts. Guys like AG and ZM are tuned in from day one because they are fighting to get noticed.
  5. no it doesn't.........people take that stuff way to literal. Plenty of teams have sent players down for waiver exemption reasons. Sucks for AG if it happens, but players understand the ramifications of the cap world.
  6. I think you're right on here. I like Pearson, but I think Leivo is a likey "unlikely" candidate. He has spurts of good play, but then disappears for long stretches. That said, I don'tthink they are going to sacrifice depth unless they absolutely have to. gaudette, despite earning his spot, is the logical move.
  7. Do people really think established players play as hard as a guy fighting for a spot? They're aiming for the playoffs and Sutter and Beagle are going to be important parts of that push.
  8. I'm not sure trading a 15-20 goal guy who plays defensive mins and is a takeaway machine and hgets paid peanuts is smart idea.
  9. If his confidence is shaken by be given the #1 cman job in Utica, then he's not going to make it long in the NHL anyway. It's not going to hurt him in anyway if he goes to Utica.......he might very well not be sent down, but it certainly wouldn't be a bad thing for him either. He's got some work to do defensively and especially on face offs and it gives him a pressure free place to grow
  10. Sometimes the bigger picture takes precedent. As great as he's played, there's no "need" for him in Van this season and why not let him dominate in Utica and be the inevitable call up.
  11. He's not competing with LE for a spot, he's competing with Sutter and Beagle
  12. Phoenix finished ahead of Vancouver last season.
  13. It's good to remember this is still a team climbing back up......there's going to be a lot of exciting nights, but a lot of frustrating nights too. The playoffs, imo, are realistic, but a lot of things have to go right to get there.
  14. Hughes redeemed! Though he's still having a rough night
  15. Or pick it up and put it back on........I think
  16. That's not very realistic, especially for a team who depends heavily on young, inexperienced players. For all our love of Petey and Boes, they spend the majority of time in their own end.
  17. I just don't see that as the best plan for AG. He'd benefir far more from double the mins and being "THE" guy in Utica.......at least to start.
  18. I agree, I wouldn't want to see him waived either. I don't think he's had a great pre-season, but we know what we get with TM.
  19. I think it could come down to Motte if they want to keep Gaudette........which I don't think they'd do, as Motte would get claimed, almost guaranteed.
