  1. How many of them are considered top, or even moderately highly touted prospects? Not msny, that's for sure.
  2. I'd say that's exactly what it is. He's a kid playing in a men's pro league........he's not going to get many mins at the best of times.
  3. a welcome respite from the cess pool it's been for the last year or two
  4. I doubt there's much to freak out about yet. At this point, the experience of being around a top pro team and players is just as valuable for his development as playing time is.
  5. I think QH will get #5-6 mins 5v5 and then PP time that will boost his mins up.
  6. I forgot about Jake, who had a solid, though under the radar year while he was in Utica. His time there really rounded out his game nicely.
  7. Utica also hasn't had top prospects, aside from Demko who they developed nicely
  8. The point is that they would have very long, extended road trips, which hurts, not helps development. In Utica they are home most nights and get extra practice/gym and recovery time. That's a huge advantage. They had an affiliation with the Wolves, they own the Comets
  9. of course it is, most of the Comets games are within a few hours of home, in BC, they would be long, extended road trips..........California, Texas and Arizona are a long way away. Bakersfield Cali is 1900 kms Tuscon is 2700 kms Cedar Park Texas is 3600 kms to compare Van to Winnipeg is 2300 kms Van to Thunder Bay is 3000 kms Van to Sault St Marie is 3600 kms
  10. the argument against that has been, and will likely continue to be, that there's too much travel out west in the AHL. The Comets have very little travel and that means significantly more developement time.
  11. A structured, incremental salary grid is the only real option, imo. As long as they RFA, they can only get x%/year increase on their last contract.
  12. Starting point? BB shouldn't be asking for more than ZW, imo.
  13. I think that's part of it, for sure, but you can't fault them for that either.
  14. he's not in a spot in this franchise where he has a spot that's his to lose. RW on Bo's line is wide open, imo.
  15. for me, Jake has already turned that corner. He could easily have been a 20 goal guy, last year, if healthy and I think he'd hit 20-25 goals if he got consistent top 6 mins and PP time. I'd actually like to see him get some pk time too.
  16. 2nd round picks have a slightly m chance of ever playing an NHL game.......most become solid AHL pros.
  17. Considering most of their top prospects were/are either in the NHL, college or Europe, it shouldn't be surprising the prospects in Utica aren't setting the world on fire in Utica.
  18. The Comets weren't exactly a great place for anyone last year as they had to deal with injuries to the Canucks, but also to their own roster. Kind is a long, long way from being a write off.
  19. That's up tp Podkolzin, not the Canucks
  20. I know people think Pearson is a lock for top 6, but I doubt he stays there long, TG will go to Jake on Bo's right side early in the season, imo.
