  1. I'm saying any player who gets $7m a year on their second contract should be dominant in all three zones, two at least. That contract should be reserved for the Peteys in the org, not the Boesers
  2. I think similar.......he's not nearly as valuable to the team as Horvat, but you have to account for some inflation as well.
  3. I don't disagree with that, though the Horvat deal was done in a bit of a pre-Petey vacuum. The Boeser contract is going to set the standard for Petey and Hughes though, similar to how AM's set the standard for WN and MM.
  4. Id agree with that, though Kessel is a better skater, imo.
  5. How JB handles the Boeser contract will determine whether or not Vancouver follows the same path.
  6. I don't think he's bad, defensively.......I think he's avg to slightly below avg.
  7. That's exactly why TO can't get out of the first round and teams like the Blues win the Cup.
  8. Actually, it's the least amount of goals against wins.
  9. I think he's very agile, but agree about the power aspect.
  10. I think NTC/NMC are UFA only
  11. A lot do, I absolutely agree. Good GM'S don't, imo. Again, I loved that team and can understand why they went that direction......however, it was obvious what was coming after it crashed.
  12. Burke and Nonis drafted and built the core of a team that went to game 7 of the finals and was a dominant team for 3-4 years.
  13. what a great clip..........like it or not, he's got a lot of the same skills and style as JV.
  14. Boeser is a two year player ho hasn't really accomplishedmuch yet, including even one full season. He has zero leverage and he does not have the resume to be asking for $7m, if that is indeed what the hold up is for. As I've said, if he is holdng out for that kind of payday now, move him for a good return because his next contract demand will be far more.
  15. The sad thing is, I think they could have still put that team together without the resulting carnage if they were a little more forward thinking. They made it way more complicated than it needed to be, imo.
  16. All those veterans and earned their contracts, and every one of them is fair market value as they all held 100% of the bargaining leverage.
  17. I understand that it's his agent job, but that agent is an employee of Brock Boeser, and he answers to Boes. I'm using BB as an example because he plays for Van, but all the RFA's are putting individual before team and it makes me like and respect them a little less every time they do it. It's supposed to be about the name on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back.
