  1. I agree, I would welcome him back. I loved his game
  2. I think neither of them are locks, far from it. AG looked ok last night and I do believe he's going to be an impact player, to some degree, but he has a lot of seasoning left to do
  3. as long as he doesn't throw a hip check on someone 60 lbs heavier in the SCF
  4. I can see that comparison...........I would be thrilled if he would be a Hamhuis+
  5. Preaching to the choir. I agree completely
  6. He's not struggling, he's still a dominant goalie, is my understanding. He just has a cpl of holes in his game that need to be worked on. I think they want him to come in and play significant mins right away and I think they don't believe he is there yet. worked well with Schneider
  7. I think Mac will be there before OJ, he has to clear waivers next year and they can't afford to lose a good d prospect
  8. cheers for all the updates
  9. I think they expected him to show up in the shape required to be a player in the top league in the world. He wasn't even close. He would have been out of shape for the AHL. The Canucks, one would assume, offered and signed that contract under that assumption. When he didn't, they treated him like they would any other player and asked him to go to Utica, where they player less frequently and train more, to get in shape and then come back. His entire approach to coming over was bush league, imo. He clearly didn't understand what being an NHL player entailed and wasn't ready for it mentally. I don't hold it against him, but he handled it all very poorly and got some very bad advice from those around him.
  10. Do you believe Cull isn't being truthful when he says Demko isn't ready for the NHL yet? There are certainly some hard core Comets fans in the Comets thread who agree with that notion.
  11. we'll agree to disagree. He was treated more than fairl. IN fact, they gave in to many of his requests that other players would never make. They gave him every opportunity, asking him only to be patient and earn his spot. He puted and took his ball and went home, then trashed and coach (whom I disliked) and the org in the media. I love Try and would welcome him back with open arms, but what he did was childish
  12. they won't want him sitting on the bench for 50 games a year, just like DN and MG didn't want Schneids doing it either. He needs to be a starter in Utica until he is ready to, at the very least, platoon in the starter role. As Cull said, he's not ready for NHL games yet and several regular Utica fans have reinforced that.
  13. we all have coaches/bosses we don't like. Professionals know how to deal with it and get the most out of it that they can. Try was completely unprofessional about the whole thing. He made himself and the organization look bad.
  14. I think it's almost for sure he spends all of next season and possibly even a second in Utica. He's 19, not 22. I think people forget that sometimes
  15. I wouldn't call Breisbois a "project". He's played very very well in Utica, as a 20 year old rookie. Two more years and I feel he's a lock in the top 6 in Van.
  16. kids never played a pro game and you have him pencilled in at 2nd line C? I would say there is a much better chance he starts in Utica.
  17. sorry, didn't mean you, specifically. I just quoted you because you mentioned Pouliot
  18. I understand the reward aspect of it, but it just seems silly to mess with things. It took AG 10 hours to get here, so likely the same for Demko to get here and then another 10 to get back after a hectic few days in Van.......think of the massive media attention he is going to have to endure. Goalies are creatures of habit and ritual and going into his first professional playoff series, you want the Canucks to mess with that and then send him back exhausted on top of it?
  19. or he comes up, gets absolutely shelled in front of a completely decimated NHL lineup and goes into the playoffs with that on the back of his mind. Why mess with things?
  20. Ridiculous? Have you been asleep for the last 15 years? If he struggles, the press and fans will eat him alive. Why subject him to that for nothing.
  21. If they had been healthy they would have been in the mix this year.
  22. I'm not sure why people are so down on Pouliot.......he makes young guy mistakes, but if he learns from them, he has the potential to be an impact player.
