  1. Excited to see these guys at the Vogue in November.
  2. So you're basically saying the heat is great when you're able to escape it?
  3. Not true at all. And even if it were, its not worth roasting all day. Give me 15 degrees and clear any day of the week.
  4. Yeah I get that. But most of the other prospects are at least smiling and sound happy that they've been drafted. Boeser could very well learn to like Vancouver, but surely you can see how its disconcerting when again and again players look upset to be picked by us.
  5. That's the point. So often it seems like our prospects don't want to come here.
  6. I saw him smile several times in there.
  7. McCann seemed flustered he dropped. This kid sounded like Benning just shot his dog. Total deadpan.
  8. Mad Max: Fury Road -7/10 I enjoyed this movie. I thought it was well done. I don't see where the crazy amount of hype is coming from though.
  9. Here are some good shots of Virtanen in Canuck colours. A glimpse into the future?
  10. It was a good signing. But now with Eddie's emergence as a number 1 we're in a position where we need to movie a goalie, and most agree that Miller is the best candidate. Actually trading him is another matter entirely.
  11. Ehh, I don't really blame them. Its whats in vogue right now. Its no different than the Spaghetti Westerns of the '60s or action thrillers of the 80s. It'll die down eventually and something new will take its place. I do like how they all share a universal canon though, that's part of what makes them interesting.
  12. Imagine what Ehlers page would look like if the Canucks drafted him.
  13. Whiplash: 9/10 Movie was great, definitely lived up to the hype. J.K. Simmons deserved the oscar for sure. Nothing I can say on this that hasn't already been said. Avengers: Age of Ultron 7.5/10. I was very entertained by this movie, it was fun to just sit in your seat and feel like a 10 year old again. The action scenes were very well choreographed and executed. Hulk vs Iron Man alone was worth the price of admission. The one liners were still snappy and hit their mark, and the actors all gave solid performances (save Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's "accents"). However, the story was something of a jumbled mess. The first third of the movie was seamless, but after that it began to feel very disjointed and rocky. It was like they weren't sure which direction to go with the movie, so they ended up trying all of them and not really succeeding. The characters motivations were not quite there, and the movie lacked a "flow" so to speak. It felt like all of the scenes were only loosely tied together. What I think happened was that the movie ended up being far too long, so they cut a bunch of scenes that would have helped flesh everything out. This is understandable, but definitely to the film's detriment.(especially when they felt the need to keep so many scenes about . Overall, Marvel movies are about the spectacle(the exception being Cap 2) and this movie definitely succeeded in delivering a fun, summer blockbuster, which is all you can really ask for from the marvel movies.
  14. Not really, I said I THINK he'll be an NHLer.
  15. I'll take off my rose coloured glasses if you give me your crystal ball to replace them.
  16. I'm always surprised that players don't stay in college longer, and get an education to fall back on. It seems like that's the reason to go to college over the major junior route. I get that you can always go back, but if you were looking to turn pro right away why go to college?
  17. What's Demko studying? Maybe he'd want to stay in college for longer?
  18. Because foot speed can't be improved? How did Horvat make it anyway? Green has had nothing but glowing things to say about the kid, he just needs more development time
  19. I have a feeling it may take awhile for Gaunce to become an NHL regular, but when he does he'll be a fixture on the third line for years to come. Whether that's with the Canucks or not remains questionable, as we've also got Horvat, McCann and Cassels as emerging, dependable two way centres. And if they all keep improving at the same clip, one or more is going to get moved (hopefully for a solid young Dman)
  20. If only hockey were as simple as basic math, we'd all be all stars.
  21. Ritchie plays for the best team in the league. And I'm sorry, but the Kyle Beach comparison is ridiculous. Virtanen has a lethal shot and elite skating. He's not just some plug. Ritchie on the other hand scores so much because he is a kid with a man's body playing in a boys league.
  22. Based on Dorsett's facial expressions he's secretly a Reptillian disguised as a human who was sent to Earth to prepare for the invasion by destroying the rest of the NHL.
  23. Not really. They look like what one would expect from a budding young hockey player. They might sound a little "vapid teen" at times but 99% of teenagers do. Are you an Ehlers fan looking for some way to hate on the kid?
  24. An interesting take for sure. However, I'm not sure how much stock I put into judging a player's personality based on his "facial expressions and body language" seen from a distance.
