  1. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies 3/10 This was stupid.
  2. Love his vids. Bumping as well let's get this thread going again. As for the workouts, I'm starting a variation of Stronglifts 5x5. I played sports throughout school and have kept in decent shape now that I'm in college, but now I'm looking to actually add some mass to my DYEL frame. The workouts are simple enough to grasp. It's the eating that's a pain.
  3. Because its a very simple way to get a sufficient description of a players abilities. Why are you so hung up on people using comparisons?
  4. Interstellar 5/10 I don't know if the sound editing was terrible, or if the theatre I saw it in just had horrible acoustics, but I missed nearly a third of what was being said throughout the movie. The plot seemed all over the place, and it suffered from some major pacing issues. That said the acting was pretty good (McConaughey does his usual raspy southern draaaaaaaaaaawl for much of the movie, but still turns in a solid performance) and the visuals, while not breathtaking, were still fairly impressive. Its not something I'm clamoring to re-watch, but I wasn't sitting in the theatre praying for it to be over either. Maybe my expectations were too high, but this was a pretty "meh" experience for me.
  5. 3/5 sounds like "average" to me. There's room for improvement but he's obviously got some hockey IQ despite what the Ehlers/Nylander fans say.
  6. Just watching the way Virtanen moves around the ice is exciting. The shot, speed, size, power are all top notch. I can't believe people are calling him a bust already. Yeah he might not have extrasensory passing abilities but he's not a stupid player. Hockey sense is a lot easier to coach than the things he already has.
  7. http://www2.tsn.ca/bardown/Story.aspx?Non-hockey+fans+attempt+to+guess+Phil+Kessel%27s+day+job&id=465589
  8. Virtanen has all the tools to be a beast in the NHL. Elite shot, skating, hitting etc. Yes his vision and hockey sense is lacking, but its a lot easier to teach that than it is for the physical abilities. I'm definitely glad we took Virtanen.
  9. Fury 7/10. It had a few cliches, and Brad Pitt plays pretty much the same character he did in Inglourious Basterds. Still, very entertaining movie. Was also surprised at what a good job Shia LaBeouf did. Strong performance from a supporting character, was not expecting that from him.
  10. The Dark Knight Rises is unabashedly awful. Batman Begins is alright, and The Dark Knight is an alright crime movie, but a terrible Batman movie. When I say that, I mean Batman is not in it. The "Batman" in TDK is a rich thug in a cape. Thats not Batman.
  11. But forestry is huge in BC. So despite that specific definition of the word originating elsewhere, the logger identity still works.
  12. This. A thousand times this
  13. You probably dont have to endure it all day. I personally love rain, I wouldn't live on the west coast if I didn't. If I wanted this weather I'd move to Arizona.
  14. Virtanen has the best shot and wheels in the draft. He's got a big body and is more than willing to play physically. His skillset is incredibly desirable. Yes he doesn't have the highest hockey IQ, but you guys act like he's a caveman. You can teach a better understanding of the game a lot easier than elite skating and shooting.
  15. All these toxic comments about an 18 year old kid who hasn't even been to rookie camp are pretty sickening. I get that you watched a couple highlight videos and think you know best but you should hope for the best for any of our picks, not call for their heads
  16. I'm happy with the pick. Love all the people who can already tell he's going to bust. Shame the Canucks didn't hire you, crystal balls would come in pretty handy at the draft.
  17. 22 Jump Street. 8/10. Great buddy comedy. Turned a lot of tropes on its head. I really enjoyed it and it definitely lived up to the original.
  18. Gaunce had a year of development and NHL camp experience last season.
  19. He's not a 'building block' no. But you do need guys like him to win games. And our boys are sorely lacking in that type of player.
  20. Lock the thread now that I've had the last word!
  21. Because theres 18 thousand threads all this and theres no point in saying it'll be "Virtanen/Ehlers/Ritchie/Nylander/Dal Colle because thats who I like best."
  22. to Buffalo -6th overall -66th overall -Anton Cederholm to Vancouver -2nd Overall Its an optimistic proposal but I don't think its too unreasonable.
  23. I understand this is tantalizing, but every year theres news of the Canucks "exploring the possibility of moving up" and it never happens. Then when it actually does happen it comes completely out of left field. (Schneider for 9th). I'm just saying don't hold your breath.
