  1. I'm happy we got Garrison, but I still don't like the amount we signed him for. I know we needed a new bomb from the point after losing Salo, and I know he took a discount over what some teams were offering to come here, but I'm not a fan of his cap hit. He finally had a good season at age 27 when paired with Campbell, and as we've seen before, one good season can net you a big pay increase. I just don't like the idea of having 2 big defensive cap hits with Ballard (Who has not played up to snuff) and Garrison (whose body of work I don't find particularly impressive for 4.6 mil) Still, Its only 6 games into the season, and he does need time to gel with his new surroundings. I hope he starts to produce like he did in Florida soon.
  2. I left the film with more questions than answers and that was the difference for me. I agree, I liked that, but I felt that the execution for the rest of the movie was poorly done. I didn't care about any of the main characters, Maya was boring. There was no character development, the characters all felt more like plot devices to a plot that wasn't quite there. It felt like half of the events it showed were completely irrelevant, and the movie was just showing you random things that happened along the way during the mission. I know it's trying to portray the events as realistically as possible, but I felt like it could've taken some more creative leeway. If I wanted to watch the 'true story' I'd watch a documentary.
  3. I enjoyed it. I generally don't like action movies but I thought the Avengers was great. It had a solid script and the action was good. It was a very entertaining movie. The characters weren't exactly deep or complex but it was fun watching them interact.
  4. Zero Dark Thirty-6/10 It was okay. Erratically paced. Characters were uninteresting and about half of the movie seemed like boring filler. Perhaps I went into it with my expectations too high, but its not worth the Oscar hype. If anything its Oscar bait.
  5. With the Seahawks out I'm glad the Ravens made it to the Super Bowl. They're my favourite AFC team.
  6. BRAVE-5/10 I don't know whats up with Pixar lately. They made Cars 2, their first genuinely bad movie, and they followed up with this. Brave isn't bad, but its extremely, explicitly average. It lacks the subtlety and deeper storytelling that Pixar is known for. While most of Pixar's movies are made in a way that people of all ages can appreciate, I feel like this was just an all-out kid's movie. The story was basic, predictable, and it just sort've felt manufactured, as if it were saying things like "The protagonist's parents nag at her. Don't you identify with this kids?" While I give Pixar props for having their first female protagonist, a lot of the time it felt like the movie was shoving "GIRL POWER!" down my throat. The characters were very stock. You pretty much get everything you need to know about them within 5 minutes, no real complexity to be found here. The pacing was well-done, and the voice acting was good as well. I will say that from a visual standpoint this is a really, really good movie, but as technology improves, so should the animation. The music was also done well, it fit the Scottish background.
  7. If you don't understand the 'deal' with Life of Pi, I'll try to explain it as best as I can Hope that helped.
  8. Look at it this way. Canucks-42 years, no cups. Seahawks-36 years, no Super Bowls Mariners- Perennially terrible. Supersonics-Gone. Oh well, at least its a nice place to live.
  9. Kudos to Atlanta, they played a hell of a game. While I'm extremely disappointed, the Seahawks had a great season and are a very young team. The future is looking bright.
  10. It makes sense depending on your perspective.
  11. It's nice to have your loyalty vindicated once in awhile. No one truly deserves anything.
  12. Defense just needs to shut them down. We've got ourselves a game!
  13. I don't know, it kind've makes sense. Why spend a week in a hotel room and on the road when you can sleep in your own bed and use your own facilities. This isn't like a Canucks road trip where they've got games every 2 days.
  14. Not using this as an excuse, but they fly back to Seattle then fly to Atlanta between games.
  15. Yeah and like I said, the same goes for every team. There are also a lot of die hard Seahawk fans here who are ecstatic we finally have a good team.
  16. Okay, but that's going to happen with any team that's doing well. Look at how many people here are suddenly huge Canucks fans once the playoffs roll around.
  17. Really? Seattle finally has a good team and now the fans are 'bandwagoners'? Come on, they're not the Packers or Patriots.
  18. Seattle's secondary needs to get it together. The falcons' receivers are way too good to be given that much time and space. Still, we have some of the best DB's in the league, so I'm not super worried.
  19. +1 for you The 'seahawk' is another name for Osprey.
  20. Without using google, can you tell me what the actual name for a 'Seahawk' is?
  21. Still essentially the same company. Here's one. Without using google, what did the New York Giants used to be called? Hint: There were two Giants teams in New York at the time.
  22. The team used to be sponsored by the Acme Packing company.
  23. Believe it or not it's actually fairly common knowledge. Pretty much any NFL fan knows this.
