  1. “Triggered”. Textbook projection. You’re the one screeching about something completely inconsequential and then crying when people tell you to calm down.
  2. You have no idea why they were “left at the table”. They could have been working, they might not have wanted to go up. There are an infinite amount of reasons they may not have gone up but you’ve decided it’s this because you want to be indignant.
  3. Are you surprised? Any time a Leaf player or executive wipes their ass they say it’s a brilliant move.
  4. Lots of upside, but definitely a project. About what you can expect from a pick around 15. The thing that worries are the comments about his skating. Skating is so important for players now, and an undersized one being an underwhelming skater is a career killer. I hope they get him in contact with Bo’s skating coach.
  5. Would have sworn he’s Finnish with a name like that.
  6. Damn, thats gonna take him past 40. Hopefully his body keeps up.
  7. I genuinely thought Juolevi would turn into a solid top 2/4 defenseman for us. Not an elite perennial all star like Makar or Hughes, but the kind of steady, reliable all situations type defenseman that teams cherish. A Slavin or Hamhuis kind of guy. Conversely I was also not very enthusiastic about picking Pettersson. It was a reach at the time for our highest pick since the Sedins, and he walks up on stage built like Jack Skellington and barely speaking English, with the draft coverage talking about how he should have been picked around 10, projects as a winger, was several years away, etc.
  8. I find the name pretty amusing. The National Hockey Super League. Watch out National Hockey League, you aren't the best in the world anymore.
  9. Top Gun Maverick It was a fun, entertaining action movie but made absolutely no sense.
  10. And the only place that predicted Petey would be this good was some Leafs fan blog. It’s almost like the draft is a crapshoot and nobody has a crystal ball.
  11. No. They have incredible overlap. This very forum is proof. Gillis was reviled by the end of his tenure, and everybody was clamouring for JB. 7 years later his reputation was incredibly mixed at best and after the disastrous start to last season nearly everyone wanted him gone. Also, people do have a tendency to change their opinion as time goes by and more information becomes available.
  12. Normally when people make grossly one-sided trade proposals here, it’s in our favour, not the other team’s.
  13. Benning certainly had problems and I think after the smoke clears it's inarguable that he was doing more harm than good, but this attitude among fans is par for the course. When Benning was hired, Gillis was the worst GM ever and JB was going to lead us to the promised land. When Gillis was hired, Nonis was the worst GM ever but Gillis would finally get a championship. The only exception to this I think was Pat Quinn, but I wasn't old enough to follow the Canucks at the time, so it would not surprise me in the least if Quinn was vilified at the time and is only venerated now when we appreciate what he did. And I guarantee that unless JR and Allvin actually do the unthinkable and bring us a cup, when their tenure inevitably ends there will be fans talking about how they were the worst executives ever. It's simply how it goes in the sports industry.
  14. Good player, I'm not interested in what it would take to potentially acquire him though. If all the reports about management wanting to change the culture and atmosphere of the team are true as well, I can't see a me-first diva like PLD fitting in the team's plans either.
  15. You need to either trade for Taylor Hall or move the team to Edmonton for the season if you expect this to work.
  16. Wrong. Canucks fans are the worst subhuman, bottom feeding monstrosities on the planet, and it's up to brave members of this fanbase (who miraculously are never the ones deserving of scorn) to remind us.
