  1. With all the reports of discord in the locker room already I'm sure adding a guy like Kane would help.
  2. We haven't seen the US jerseys yet so its too early to judge, but I'd take a logo that looks like Union Pacific over Chinese Spyware everytime.
  3. Not a fan. It looks like a Great Value brand Blackhawks throwback.
  4. Hey Necromancer, please use your power to raise the dead on the team.
  5. This. Be careful what you wish for. Aquaman isn't perfect but I'd much rather have an owner that cares too much than doesn't care at all.
  6. Hoglander is a blessing for anyone foolish enough/memeworthy enough to have bought a Loui Player Name jersey. Just need to rip that namebar off and stitch a new one on.
  7. I'm not at all insinuating Miller doesn't care. He clearly does. I just think the antics are a bit much. Halford and Brough had a good point about it this morning. Why are the outbursts so 'performative' for lack of a better term? We've had a lot of guys on our team who are moody before, but they weren't going out of their way to show just how upset they are. You could look at it as showing the team that poor performance is unacceptable, but I think it does the opposite. JT is clearly a leader on this team, and you would want your leaders to be somewhat collected and good examples for players to follow. The odd outburst from a leader may light a fire under your belly, but if its happening every game its just going to make for a more uncomfortable work environment. Have you ever played a round of golf with someone who loses their mind after every bad shot? Or a video game with someone who screams and smashes the controller after losing a round? They're not fun to play with, and I think it may end up creating further tension on a team thats clearly still not over the dressing room issues of last year.
  8. Its not so much a matter of a single player hurting us as it is not consistent enough drafting to get at least one NHLer out of every draft, trading away multiple picks, etc. That said I would pick Virtanen simply because if you're talking about "hurting the organization", the amount of chances he got definitely held the team back the most.
  9. I'm not saying no to Ted Nolan outright but if they hire him it should be because he's the best candidate, not for marketing purposes.
  10. That's pretty subjective though. Everyone has their own preferences for what they're looking for. For example lots of people would love to retire in Florida or Arizona, but anywhere hot like that sounds like hell to me.
  11. Lots of players in multiple sports have chosen to retire in Minnesota after their playing days. I've never been so I can't attest to it, but apparently its a nice place to live.
  12. Its also because Columbus doesn't really have much to celebrate. He was the first real star player they ever had. Different franchises have different bars for number retirement. There are multiple numbers in the rafters at Rogers arena that probably wouldn't be retired had they played for certain other teams. I don't think number retirement should be some strict bar like the HHOF. It should be more about what you meant to the club.
  13. Thank you for posting a screencap from your phone, it really was helpful, as I couldn't figure out what that "prev" button on the top of the page did. Unfortunately, it isn't the "gotcha" you think it is, because this entire back and forth stems from what you've inferred from your own poor grasp of the English language. Perhaps that's why you got so uptight over the original comment, you actually didn't understand what Sat was saying and felt it was some kind of personal attack. It would make sense given that you can't even remember that you used the term "insight", not me, so I don't know why you're writing it as if I'm the one bringing it up.
  14. The hypocrisy of you attacking me for allegedly assuming things when you are doing that exact thing yourself. I don't care what you think. Lots of people clearly don't understand the nuances of language given the amount of flak Sat was getting on 650 with people clearly not understanding what he said. My comment was not directed at anyone in particular in this thread yet you seem to think it is, maybe you didn't get it and took it personally, I don't know. Also I offered plenty of "insight", I clarified the difference between an 'ought' and an 'is'.
  15. I think maybe Loui's last act as a Canuck was cursing the number 21. Hoglander has looked really good out there and his stats are not in line with his performance.
  16. It's not even whether or not Markstrom is a better goalie right now (I think he is, but Demko isn't that far behind him), it's whether or not you'd rather have a 35 year old Markstrom at 6 mil than a 30 year old Demko at 5 mil, and if you think having Markstrom in net is somehow going to make the team in front of him play better when Demko is already standing on his head to no avail.
