  1. haha how about edker to dallas for their 2 goalie contracts and the rghts to Nichushkin
  2. i think it is the order of the prospects that are made available. only so many are available each day.
  3. The one thing I don't like about some of these mock drafts is some of them have Glass being selected 11th overall by the Kings. I hope he doesn't become another Kopitar and become awesome if this does happen haha, or maybe not haha.
  4. Maybe he is on the line of thinking of acquiring a C with the 1st pick and a D with the 2nd, someone like Clague maybe??
  5. I thought I heard the dudes on TSN 1040 say that Trader Jim might be inquiring with other teams to combine both 2nd round picks and trade with another team for a late 1st round pick.
  6. Now that we have that 2nd round CBJ pick, alot of choices to choose from. the folks over at Canucks Army have a good draft profile today of Ivan Lodnia. Great 5 on 5 point producer and fairly comparable to Nick Suzuki, Jonah Gadjovich and Robert Thomas in 5vs5 points. He also just missed the 2018 draft by days so will have a year extra to grow heightwise, (possibly), and skill-wise. His numbers don't pop off at you stat-wise because he was used 4th line and was brought in mid-season via trade but he still produced at a PPG clip, he was on a deep Erie squad. Another might be his size as he is only 5'10'', but remember he is young and has room to grow another inch or so. Here's the link: https://canucksarmy.com/2017/05/31/nation-network-2017-prospect-profiles-41-ivan-lodnia/
  7. I saw that too. The article actually says this mght be a reach but the Canucks select Petterson. Man can you imagine if Petterson is selected over the other top centres if they are still unselected at 5. Not too sure of the writers decision behind his mock draft, alot of his picks seem to be way off.
  8. I very much agree with you but if we managed to pull that off, that would be the heist of the century!!
  9. Any sleeper picks for this draft guys/gals?? Lots of teams sleeping on Suzuki?
  10. how about for that 2nd pick if available: Nikita Popagayev, Isaac Ratcliffe or Grant Mismash? all are LW and big with some skill, we are good with our RW, presumably C if we go that route with that 1st pick, but some big LW would be nice to pick in this draft as well
  11. whoa in our own backyard too!! why couldn't the Giants still play at the coliseum? Is he playing for them right now or playing in Europe somewhere? will have to start my homework for next years round as well lol!!
  12. This debate will never end will it? How old is the kid, 20 years old, and he is being labelled a bust already and some people are wanting him shipped out of here. Come on, haha, I don't understand that way of thinking at all. I see another year or 2 of playing in the AHL with some call-ups for injury replacements and him moving up the line with earned minutes.
  13. Pedan the big protective older brother!! lol!!
  14. I hope he comes to camp in great shape, the kid has a wicked shot and scored from all different angles.
  15. I know we are not taking Tippett haha, I just thought it would be fun to point out some mock drafts and how they are off in who the Canucks pick, I mean come on, he has us passing by on both Vilardi and Glass, that's pretty funny. This draft came all the way from someone in Jersey, what do they care, they have that 1st pick and its all gravy from them after they select the 1st right.
  16. This is mock draft from NJ.com. It has the Canucks picking Owen Tippett, and passing on both Cody Glass who gets picked at 6 and Vilardi who gets picked at 7. Here is the link: http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2017/05/nhl_mock_draft_2017_full_first_round_nolan_patrick.html 1) New Jersey Devils: Nolan Patrick, C, Brandon (WHL) Brandon Wheat Kings forward Nolan Patrick didn't replicate his 102-point season from 2015-16 largely due to injuries, but he posted 46 points in 33 regular season games. The New Jersey Devils' Director of Amateur Scouting called Patrick a very well-rounded player, especially for his age, while touting his ability to be an offensive play maker while also being responsible and smart away from the puck. The debate between Patrick and forward Nico Hischier for the top spot in the 2017 NHL Draft will rage on until one of their names is called in Chicago, but for now, the Devils go with the bigger, more well-rounded prospect. Marissa Baecker | Getty Images 2) Philadelphia Flyers: Nico Hischier, C/RW, Halifax (QMJHL) The left-shooting forward Nico Hischier finished with 38 goals and 48 assists in 58 regular-season games with Halifax Mooseheads in his first season playing in North America. The Devils' Director of Amateur scouting called Hischier a little more dynamic than Patrick in the types of goals he scores, and he also liked his two-way game. Hischier might be the flashier pick, especially after his big performance at the 2017 World Juniors Championships with Switzerland. If Patrick and Hischier end up going as the top two picks, in either order, and neither the Philadelphia Flyers or Devils trade their picks, they'll be quickly set up as Metropolitan Division rivals for at least the first stages of their careers. Minas Panagiotakis | Getty Images 3) Dallas Stars: Casey Mittelstadt, C/LW, Eden Prairie High School (MN) The Stars now own two first-round picks thanks the Anaheim Ducks reaching the Western Conference Finals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but their first big decision will come at No. 3, where things are wide open if Patrick and Hischer go No. 1 and No. 2 in either order. Here Dallas takes Mittelstadt, who finished with 21 goals and 43 assists in just 25 games for Eden High School last season, plus 30 points in 24 USHL games for the Green Bay Gamblers. 4) Colorado Avalanche: Miro Heiskanen, D, HIFK (Liiga) Heiskanen is regarded as one of the top defenseman prospects in the Draft, and he is rated as the No. 4 European skater by NHL.com. Scouting reports tout him as a player with a full skill set to become a strong two-way defenseman, and he would certainly go a long way for Colorado building its defense. YouTube 5) Vancouver Canucks: Owen Tippett, RW, Mississauga (OHL) Owen Tippett scored 44 goals over 60 regular-season games for the Mississauga Steelheads in the OHL, where his team reached the OHL finals. 6) Las Vegas Golden Knights: Cody Glass, C, Portland (WHL) Cody Glass went for 94 points over 69 games for the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL, and the newly founded Las Vegas Golden Knights could add a high-scoring prospect with their first ever draft pick. YouTube 7) Arizona Coyotes: Gabriel Vilardi, C, Windsor (OHL) Gabriel Vilardi is listed as high as No. 3 in many mock drafts and draft boards, and it's certainly possible the Canadian prospect goes before No. 7. But if he falls this far, the Coyotes will be adding a player who finished with 61 points over 49 games for the Windsor Spitfires, jumping up from 38 points over 62 games in 2015-16.
  17. Fair enough, and I do agree that Jake had a good teacher in Green down in Utica this past season, which is exactly what he needed to help him along with his confidence and maturity. I hope Virtanen shows up to camp and shows he belongs.
  18. you think he will rise up to the 3rd or 4th spot? pls whoever posted that he will be this years PLD, haha, its eother him or Vilardi, i am starting to think Middlestadt might fall past 5.
  19. The Spitfires have 2 good centres on their top lines and thats the reason he was shifted to the wing wasn't it? for what its worth, it would be good to have a player who can slot in in on the wing or at centre anyways.
  20. As long as Benning doesn't do the unthinkable and draft Rasmussen. You reading this Benning?
  21. Even if he is, there are 2 more Centres available to pick from that fans will be happy with. Let's say it goes Patrick,Hischier, Middlestadt, Glass, who else is left? Vilardi and he probably has some more growing to do height wise. Only thing is if that was the scenario watch Benning not select Vilardi but Liljegren instead and that would be quite the drop for Vilardi.
  22. Out of curiousity, when Gaunce played with the big club, he was usually on the 4th line right? Did he play 3rd line at any point, not much he could do offensively with 4th line wingers, but how about if he had 3rd line wingers? I know 3rd line C is Sutter but maybe jeez, damn Sutter causing lineup problems haha, what could Gaunce do maybe on his wing playing with him and Goldy?
  23. Here he is being compared to Johansen and others have compared him to Scheifle. If he is drafted by the Canucks which I hope he will be, then I would be ecstatic and he would jump to the top of our prospects list. He is great at 5vs5 in points production and his 5vs5 primary assists is better than Johansens at a similar stage. He would be a great 1-2 punch with he and Horvat running the show for years to come!! Glass has 2 brothers one who is 6'4'' and the other is 6'7'', oh man, I hope he does fall to us at 5th and Benning picks him. Cody Glass – NHL Draft Projection Glass projects to a top-six complete center at the next level with first line upside. He is an incredibly smart player that any coach will have no issue deploying in all situations. View image on Twitter
