I'll add: I'm ok with Brock being re-signed, though I'd have liked it for a bit less. Put him with Bo and Pearson, leave them together for a few games. He is not playing poorly, but is merely, ok, so far. Those 3 guys were the number one line prior to Petey arriving, and it is well past time they were reunited. Not trading Miller, then resigning him were bad, bad mistakes. Defense was our problem. Total screw up of the 'timeline/window'. Sadly- I can't see a quick way out of this mess.
-
Cap space is an asset. They had choices, they made them. Some were right, some were wrong, but they had the choice.
-
Yes it was. They chose not to. Trading him, was also an option. Maybe they couldn't get 'enough' but I'd say some team would have taken him for a 7th rounder. Not a great return, but still an option. Cap space is still a return on a player going elsewhere. Hard to do? yes Unpopular? Yes But they said they would do, unpopular things. That said, maybe by 'unpopular things' they meant signing Miller to a 7 years deal, because that was unpopular then and more unpopular now.
-
Why did it have to be done? Whatever happened to management's goal of doing hard, unpopular things in order to improve.? Letting Brock walk was an option. Trading Brock was also an option. Same as not trading Miller at the deadline, same as signing Miller, same as signing Miller for 7 years. Mikheyev is also on them- fortunately that looks like an ok signing; provided the guy can stay healthy. Those signings are on them, not JB. Current management has signed players for more than $20 mill for next season. Almost a quarter of the entire cap.

I would be ok with an 'If you throw anything on the ice = ban" but would never try to differentiate between popcorn and a jersey. Objects on the ice are simply objects on the ice. Shoe, pop bottle, beer can, popcorn or jersey. All result in tossed.

A jersey is easy to spot, and iirc was not tossed during play. -
Brock Miller Mikheyev All big/bigish contracts, signed by the new regime. So it is not all on Benning.

The issue is jersey tossing, and people's apparent inability to figure out it is the least of the issues in Canuck land. Whole pile of folk, thinking they are better fans, because........ What is next? -

In your opinion. many others will dis agree. I'm fine with either being done. Not my clothing = not my call. -

Schenn retires as a Canuck, then goes to Abbottsford to be an assistant coach for a couple of seasons, then head coach down there. Steady progress, to be future Vancouver head coach. side note-it feels silly to have an NHL team and AHL team with the same name. Makes typing a bit awkward. -
[Signing] Canucks re-sign J.T. Miller

More and more I think he is gone, before the end of this season, likely by New Years. Not much choice, really. Bo is one of the few that can get good return, without having to add sweeteners or having to retain cap. -

If Bruce was a younger guy, people would now be labelling him a 'toxic coach' or a guy 'the game has passed by" Instead, they will likely ignore Bruce's part in all this, as he retires; maybe even during, this season. -

If fans want to send a message? don't go to the next game- and those that have seasons ticket could, not buy anything at the concessions. A one game boycott? Or everyone walks outs out of the 'bowl' during the second intermission, yet no one buys anything. return to seats for the 3rd? Take pointers from the Whitecaps Southsiders/Larchieders -
like shampoo- how good is it if you have to be told to use it TWICE on the directions? "Rinse, lather, repeat"- like how about just make it good enough to work the first time?
-
False-jerseys are rarely throw on the ice, thus not 'always". In fact I can only recollect a few occasions, when fans of any team, have thrown jerseys. Strangely, jersey tossing/throwing only occurs when the team sucks badly. Perhaps the problem is the team sucks?
-
0-6 with piss poor collapses is actual the ultimate form of disrespect. Having a team play like this- is the main factor that would keep anyone from signing here. Maybe worry about the big things first. More attention on "this team sucks" rather than "that guy threw some of his own clothing away".
-
Hats shouldn't count, cause if they do, no more 3 goal celebrations.

Following this team can do that to a guy; get out while you still can! -

so they were short on D, and decided to send down a guy that, is apparently a 1st or second line player. Still weird. Could have sent Miller down, not like any team would have picked him up, unfortunately. -

Yes, we did, not sure moving a first or second line player, down was the right way to go, though. Probably a lot of guys could have been sent down, waiver or not. Don't see many teams taking some of the higher paid guys- even for free. What a horrible place to be-basically stuck- with nothing but pain to look forward to. -

Hogs- in the minors for a day, then recalled for 1st/2nd line duty? Weird.
