Gurn replied to The Stork's topic in Off-Topic General
5 changes today: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/baseball/jays-make-five-roster-moves-ahead-of-game-against-rays-including-activating-cimber/ar-AA1bARbm?rc=1&ocid=winp1taskbar&cvid=2cc3ee7e2c8547ccb4888dbe8ee16a6f&ei=10 Right-handed reliever Adam Cimber was reinstated from the 15-day injured list after he missed time with a right rhomboid strain. Infielder Ernie Clement was selected to the Blue Jays' major league roster from Toronto's triple-A affiliate. Both Cimber and Clement were active for the game against the American League East-leading Rays. Right-handed reliever Thomas Hatch and infielder Otto Lopez were both optioned to the Blue Jays triple-A affiliate in Buffalo, N.Y., in corresponding moves. Pitcher Mitch White was transferred to Toronto's 60-day injured list as he recovers from right elbow inflammation. This report by The Canadian Press was first published May 23, 2023. -
keeping a handle on things means doing the little things, as well as the big things , right. Not a huge loss- as we have many 4 line type guys; but Lockwood was a 3rd round #64 over all, in 2016. played 28 games over 3 years. Kravtsov was a 1st round 9th over all the 7th rounder is in 2026. None of them are playing for the team. A former 1st, a former 3rd, and a future 7th gone, in return for 16 games as a Canuck.
-
He played 28 games for the Canucks. The number of games someone plays, that does not make the team is zero. There was also a 7th round pick- not a 16 round pick- which because it doesn't exist, would be nothing. So not 'nothing' It wasn't a big loss, but it was a loss. A dime here, a nickel there, and before you know we are talking real money.
-
If you said 'cap dump, with picks' I'd agree, that is what I expect.

Luc died in Feb 2022- he was 89; and the family will not release the cause of death. That said it seems the whole "gonna die in 2 yrs" is a hoax. https://www.ibtimes.sg/all-vaccinated-people-will-die-uncured-2-years-says-noble-winning-virologist-heres-truth-57728 The hoax message circulating on social media reads: "Nobel Prize Winner Luc Montagnier has confirmed that there is no chance of survival for people who have received any form of the vaccine. In the shocking interview, the world's top virologist stated blankly: 'There is no hope and no possible treatment for those who have been vaccinated already. We must be prepared to incinerate the bodies." -------------------------------------------------------------- he fake claim started after a report was published in LifeSiteNews, a Canadian far-right anti-abortion advocacy and news publication. The article headlined "Nobel Prize winner: Mass COVID vaccination an 'unacceptable mistake' that is 'creating the variants', quoted the French virologist saying: "The new variants are a production and result from the vaccination. You see it in each country, it's the same: in every country deaths follow vaccination." Facebook has banned the website for spreading misinformation on COVID-19. Social Media Falls Prey to the Hoax Claim In its report, the outlet based its claim on an article published on the website of RAIR Foundation, a US-based NGO, along with including a video of Montagnier talking about the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine. Even though the virologist did speak about "antibody-dependent enhancement" he certainly did not say that vaccinated people will die within two years or there is no hope and no possible treatment for those who have been vaccinated already. note the date on the article- we are down to 3 days, if the 2 years thing was to occur. lol and that's 2 yrs from the article date, not 2 yrs since the dude allegedly said.....we are going to die. My cat is very smart, comparatively speaking.

Other than special occasions and certain games, I'd suggest Vladdy start using an ordinary first base glove, with out the gold glove logo. That was last years gold glove, you have to earn this years. He has been pretty good this year, with a few mistakes but every year is a different season. -
What is this guy up to now? If you want class, and humanity, this is the dude:
-
My cousin, the same height as you, when asked "how's the weather up there?" would smile and reply "Fine; hey, have you played any miniature golf recently?"
-
New shiny management has made multiple mistakes, along with their good moves. Jury still out, pending further evidence.

I find it interesting, and a bit strange how some people will talk of what a mistake it was too let Forsling and .... go. "Too soon" they say; yet some will now say it is fine to have Hironek, rather than wait for the draft picks to develop. If it was a timing issue, fine; but for a lot it is simply because 'new shiny management' better than old management-even though that is also too soon to really tell.

I note the 4 QBs on the roster are Americans. Whatever happened to last years back ups? iirc at least one was Canadian, along with our former starter, Rourke

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/feb/10/snoop-dogg-sued-for-alleged-sexual-assault-and-battery " Snoop Dogg is being sued for the alleged sexual assault and battery of a woman in California in 2013, Pitchfork reports. The anonymous woman – an actor, model and dancer – said that after attending a Snoop Dogg concert on 29 May 2013, the rapper’s associate Bishop Don “Magic” Juan offered her a ride home, but that she fell asleep in the car and was taken to his home against her will. The following morning, Juan allegedly “removed his penis from his pants and forced his penis into her mouth”. The next day, Juan allegedly took the woman to Snoop Dogg’s studio to see if he would hire her for a role on a television show. According to the lawsuit, the rapper cornered her as she was using the toilet, forced her into oral sex and then “proceeded to masturbate and ejaculated on [the woman]’s upper chest and lower neck”. And from further back there was this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snoop_Dogg " Shortly after graduating from high school in 1989, Broadus was arrested for possession of cocaine and for the following three years was frequently in and out of prison.[11] In 1990 he was convicted of felony possession of drugs and possession for sale.[229] While recording Doggystyle in August 1993, Broadus was arrested in connection with the death of a member of a rival gang who was allegedly shot and killed by Broadus's bodyguard; Broadus had been temporarily living in an apartment complex in the Palms neighborhood in the West Los Angeles region, in the intersection of Vinton Avenue and Woodbine Street—the location of the shooting. Both men were charged with murder, as Broadus was purportedly driving the vehicle from which the gun was fired. Johnnie Cochran defended them.[230] Both Broadus and his bodyguard were acquitted on February 20, 1996.[231] In July 1993 Broadus was stopped for a traffic violation and a firearm was found by police during a search of his car. In February 1997, he pled guilty to possession of a handgun and was ordered to record three public service announcements, perform 800 hours of community service, pay a $1,000 fine and serve three years' probation.[232][233][234] In September 2006, Broadus was detained at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California by airport security after airport screeners found a collapsible police baton in his carry-on bag. Donald Etra, Broadus's lawyer, told deputies the baton was a prop for a musical sketch. Broadus was sentenced to three years' probation and 160 hours of community service for the incident, starting in September 2007.[235] He was arrested again in October 2006 at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank after being stopped for a traffic infraction; he was arrested for possession of a firearm and for suspicion of transporting an unspecified amount of marijuana, according to a police statement.[236] The following month, after taping an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, he was arrested again for possession of marijuana, cocaine and a firearm. Two members of his entourage, according to the Burbank police statement, were admitted members of the Rollin 20's Crips gang and were arrested on separate charges.[237] In April 2007 he was given a three-year suspended sentence, five years' probation and 800 hours of community service after pleading no contest to two felony charges of drug and gun possession by a convicted felon. He was also prohibited from hiring anyone with a criminal record or gang affiliation as a security guard or driver.[229] On April 26, 2006, Broadus and members of his entourage were arrested after being turned away from British Airways' first class lounge at Heathrow Airport in London. Broadus and his party were denied entry to the lounge due to some members flying in economy class. After being escorted outside, the group got in a fight with the police and vandalized a duty-free shop.[238] Seven police officers were injured during the incident. After a night in jail, Broadus and the other men were released on bail the next day but he was unable to perform a scheduled concert in Johannesburg.[239] On May 15 the Home Office decided that he would be denied entry to the United Kingdom for the foreseeable future and his British visa was denied the following year.[240][241][242] As of March 2010 however, Broadus was allowed back into the UK.[243] The entire group was banned from British Airways "for the foreseeable future".[244] In April 2007, the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship banned him from entering the country on character grounds, citing his prior criminal convictions.[245] He had been scheduled to appear at the MTV Australia Video Music Awards on April 29, 2007.[246] The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship lifted the ban in September 2008 and had granted him a visa to tour Australia. The DIAC said: "In making this decision, the department weighed his criminal convictions against his previous behaviour while in Australia, recent conduct – including charity work – and any likely risk to the Australian community ... We took into account all relevant factors and, on balance, the department decided to grant the visa."[247] Broadus was banned from entering Norway for two years in July, 2012 after entering the country the month before in possession of 8 grams (0.3 oz) of marijuana and an undeclared 227,000 kr in cash, or about US$29,400 as of 2022.[248][249][250] Snoop Dogg, after performing for a concert in Uppsala, Sweden, on July 25, 2015, was pulled over and detained by Swedish police for allegedly using illegal drugs, violating a Swedish law enacted in 1988 which criminalized the recreational use of such substances – therefore making even being under the influence of any illegal/controlled substance a crime itself without possession. During the detention he was taken to the police station to perform a drug test and was released shortly afterwards. The rapid test was positive for traces of narcotics and he was potentially subject to fines depending on the results of more detailed analysis.[251][252] Although final results "strongly" indicated drug use the charges were ultimately dropped because it could not be proven that he was in Sweden when he consumed the substances.[253] The rapper uploaded several videos on the social networking site Instagram criticizing the police for alleged racial profiling; police spokesman Daniel Nilsson responded to the accusations, saying "we don't work like that in Sweden." He declared in the videos, "Niggas got me in the back of police car right now in Sweden, cuz," and "Pulled a nigga over for nothing, taking us to the station where I've got to go pee in a cup for nothin'. I ain't done nothin'. All I did was came to the country and did a concert and now I've got to go to the police station. For nothin'!" He announced to his Swedish fanbase that he would no longer go on tour in the country due to the incident.[254][255][256] Snoop Dogg has also been arrested and fined three times for misdemeanor possession of marijuana: in Los Angeles in 1998;[257] Cleveland, Ohio in 2001;[258] and Sierra Blanca, Texas in 2010.[259] In the Death Row Records bankruptcy case, Snoop Dogg lost $2 million.[260] In February 2022 a woman sued Snoop Dogg for $10 million, alleging that he sexually assaulted her in May 2013 following a concert in Anaheim, California.[261] A source representing Snoop Dogg has denied the accusation.[262] Snoop Dogg was also sued for sexual assault in 2005.[263]

Size is a bit underwhelming 5'09" 164 lbs. Still, after a 2-3 years in Abbotsford, there may be rom for him on the big club; after trading off a few smaller guys, in front of him.
