  1. Was just going to post this same video. If you have any concern about how this kid is going to handle the size of NHL players, watch this video. His positioning, angles, speed, creativity and edge work are remarkable. This is a great video that shows how he'll look in a Canuck jersey playing the PP and PK and just how he can break up opposition rushes and turn around and head the other way in a hurry. The term used in the vid was something like he's a one-man entry zone guy. He can pretty well do it on his own. Imagine, no more of those !@#$% Edler drop passes at his own blue line. This kid will dominate puck possession. And watching some of his power play set-ups, Boeser and Petterson are going to be drooling over this kid. I'm now officially excited. Oh, and while I was initially concerned with his smallish size, watching how he makes up for it has totally eased my worries. And by the way, he's as big or bigger than Johnny Hockey, and that kid is pretty good.
  2. I'm surprised there's no posts in this thread about his facial expression.
  3. Man he's small. Looks like he's 13. Good luck Quinn. Welcome to the jungle.
  4. I can barely watch this team anymore. It's not the losses, but Robinson continues to show zero creativity with this team. Their brand of soccer is unwatchable. Bloody hell. Give up possession, defend, then once you get the ball, kick it up the field 30 yards to the one forward high only to usually give it back and defend once again. I'm so tired of that game. I thought Robbo needed to go last season not only for his lack of creativity in formations and style of play, but in his player recruitment. Seriously how long can this go on? This team will continue to be a middling team so long as this coach, GM and ownership group remain.
  5. Phil and Tiger played a practice round together at Augusta yesterday. Never thought I'd see the day.

  6. The dream is dead. Can only hope we remain in the top 7 now. Bouchard, Boqvist or Dobson would be nice consolation prizes. Now watch us win out.  D'oh!!

@The 5th Line I'm pretty sure most of us would like to finish as low as possible, I just really dont get the people  are mad at a win.... Like there is no way we could try and lose harder with this team. Jokinen was our top line rw yesterday... i believed he was waived by Columbus and not picked up by anyone. I just dont see how we could tank any harder, apart from pulling our goalie when we're ahead or not shooting it when we have an open net, or just plain not even try

Finisihing last DOES guarantee a top 4 pick.

The best is when all the ones that think these wins mean anything come here and cry and complain when we lose the lottery and draft 9th. And get to select a player 3-4 years away from even being in the nhl.

Then they can revisit these pointless victories.

I don’t get mad when we win but I see more value and long term gains in losing at this point.

Sure hope Judd Bracket can scout and draft some more gems for us.

As for a losing environment do you mean like 3 of 4 years finish near last. But yeah we should worry about the last ten games of yet another loser season.lol.

we're the team that gets to pick 5th. We were never going to out tank Buffalo, they have that down to an art form now.

  7. Somebody might be having a bad day this weekend with China's space lab falling to earth.

  8. Listened to Dave Tomlinson this afternoon talking about Ollie and he mentioned that he was asking those in the know within the hockey community about Olli and the message that he kept hearing about Olli was 1) Slow feet and 2) Attitude. The consensus by these people is that Olli will likely need to spend another two years in the AHL before he gets to the NHL. Take it for what it's worth and I hope it's not the case, but the kid has been benched for stretches this season so maybe where there's smoke, there's fire. This pick hurts our rebuild already given the other players we could have picked. Taking another two years to get here could be a real set-back and extend the rebuild a few more years.
  9. Forza Juve!!!

  10. So this is it.. the end of the line on an improbable career. Time to come home Burr and join the coaching or front office staff.
  11. Classy move by the Canucks for the moment of silence for the victims of the Florida shooting and for the pre-recorded messages of support from Panther players to back home, where some of whom live in the area.

I expected it in the Toronto Columbus game as well, to be honest, and was a little surprised when they didn't do one. I guess it happened a bit too close to game time for them to know enough details to warrant one.

  12. Trump tells Pentagon to plan a military parade, just like the one Marcon put on for Bastille day.

My God, will someone tell Trump he's not in grade 1 anymore.

  13. Is he smiling in this pic. I can't tell.
  14. MVP. MVP. MVP. If the rest of the league didn't know of this kid before, they know now. Our future looks bright folks.
  15. LOL. But all the tools are useless if the player doesn't know how to use them properly.
  16. I'm sure he and Lenarduzzi will be able to find a couple more value signings before camp opens.
  17. Drivers in Richmond who switch on their left turn signal and making me slow down to let them in, only to watch them turn right at the next light while their left turn signal is still on. Anyone who wears socks while wearing sandals, and uses the terms "a whole nother", "irregardless", and "all of the sudden" (credit: Stewie Griffin).
  18. I'm sure this has been said already on this thread, but to me he plays like a young Boss Tanev. Nothing wrong with this at all for a young player to be considered as such. This tourney shows he's exactly as advertised...and that's a good thing. So I'm still good with the pick, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was kind of hoping to get a more dynamic player at #5...regardless of position.
  19. Pettersson + Boeser = Backstrom + Ovechkin.
  20. Most players would've taken that around the net to try a wrap-around. He's done this a lot over the last year. I like that mindset. It's what coaches would expect Jakey to do on a regular basis with his size and speed. Granted he's being going to the net much better the last couple of weeks.
  21. Same shoulder he had surgery on a year ago. Oh boy.
  22. Let it go man. Fyi, previous winner of the award was:
