So near the end of that period a small percentage of Bruins fans are chanting "Go Bruins Go" and our fans start booing them instead of drowning them out with louder cheering. Makes sense to me. Btw, is anybody worried about the twins? Other than on the PP, they're invisible again and to me suddenly appear slow. It's obvious that Kes is driving the Canuck bus right now and how he goes, the Canucks go.

[GDT] VAN vs EDM - 12/13/13 - 6PM - the Game before the Game

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised as I imagine that catching the red-eye to Toronto isn't conducive to having the perfect broadcast the next day. -
[GDT] VAN vs EDM - 12/13/13 - 6PM - the Game before the Game
MJDDawg replied to Strombone1's topic in Canucks Talk
So I just went to set my PVR to record the game and on the Shaw guide it's showing at 6pm...on CBC? I can't remember the last time we had a non-Saturday CBC game. So Mark Lee then? -
It's not just your friends. Go check out Gamespot or IGN and look at the comments section on any story about the XB One or PS4. It's a total flame war, really for no other reason than I think to justify each person's purchase. It'll make your friends comments seem pretty lame. The reality is which console you buy will depend on which exclusives are most important to you and which platform all your friends are playing on. That's it. Personally, I'm a Playstation guy going all the way back to the original so next year at this time I'll probably pick up the PS4. There's no reason to buy it now since there's really no games to speak of that I'm not already playing on my PS3. The XB One as the centre of your living room is interesting but it's still not fully developed. Sure you pass your cable box into the Xbox One, but the XB One still can't interact with your cable box. Want to use your PVR to record a show or watch a recorded program? You're going to have to use your cable remote for that. Pausing a game to instantly watch TV then returning to the game exactly where you last left it is kind of cool and pretty interesting. But right now I can't see myself talking to my TV to do stuff that a couple of clicks of my remote can do. Down the road if MicroSoft can ever get the Xbox to actually control the cable box, that's something that might tempt me to buy one. In the meantime, my PS3 is more than enough for the limited gaming I do. I probably use it more for Netflix than gaming anyways.

Too Early to call Kassian a dissapointment?
MJDDawg replied to Go Go Canucks Go's topic in Canucks Talk
He's still exempt for this season as he hasn't played enough games. Here's the link to the Cap Geek page: http://capgeek.com/w...&player_id=1895 Input his game numbers then click the green button. -
Too Early to call Kassian a dissapointment?
MJDDawg replied to Go Go Canucks Go's topic in Canucks Talk
I'm convinced now that Kass needs to be sent down to Utica to play 25 minutes per game and get help honing his game. Cap Geek shows that basically this is Kass's final year of being exempt from recall waivers. Why don't the Canucks take advantage of this to send him down for an intensive playing stint for the rest of the AHL season, then recall him if we make the playoffs? This has to be a better option than him barely playing or sitting in the press box. I mean, we'll just be back here next year same time same place hoping beyond hope that over the summer he magically transitioned into Milan Lucic lite, but without the option to send him down exempt from waivers. I just hope Gillis isn't keeping him around and sacrificing valuable development time simply to not make himself look worse for the trade. -

Describe the Canucks performance so far with a movie title
MJDDawg replied to Armada's topic in Canucks Talk
After yesterday's debacle then looking at the Western standings, I say Apocalypse Now (with "The End" by the Doors). -
If he were to be canned at the end of the season, he'll have left the new GM with an aging core of players all past their prime and all with NTC's, surrounded by a bottom 9 of mostly plugs, an overhyped overpaid defence, and an aging goalie past his prime that doesn't want to be here, but has a contract that sucks. He's a terrible GM, and the deals he's made in the last year and a half have set this team back years.
-
Well, at least the twins only played 17 and 15 minutes today. Of course, in a game where you hope your best players can make even just a little difference, they were pretty well invisible for most of those 17 and 15 minutes.

[GDT]Vancouver Canucks @ New York Rangers Nov,30,2013 SNET-P

That comment actually reinforces the fact that he was traded. Yes he was (or was going to be on July 1st) a free agent but Boston didn't want to pay him what he was demanding so they shipped him off to a desperate Nucks team. I'm actually really curious now why in God's name you think the deal had to do with the Canucks leaving Neely "unprotected" with Boston then choosing him. Not only does that not make sense, but there is nothing that can be found anywhere online to even remotely suggest that it happened the way you're saying it did. But I can find you 100 links to references about the deal all discussing the Neely TRADE. What about the first round draft pick the Canucks traded along with Neely? That pick became the 3rd overall pick in the 1987 draft the year after the trade which the Bruins used to draft defenceman Glen Wesley. Or was that not a trade either? Seriously, not trying to be an ass, but I'm really just curious about where you would have heard or read about the deal not being a trade. Give me something...a link to a source...anything...that describes it as you say. You telling me to talk to any member of the media who followed the team back then isn't really good enough. -

He's got nothing between his ears. Every time his stupidity gets in the way of his talent, which is pretty well every game, I break into a cold sweat being reminded of the Cam Neely trade all over again. -

Reading your posts here today, I don't think you know what a die-hard fan is. A die-hard fan is somebody that has been through years of crushing disappointment after crushing disappointment. Some who's been emotionally invested in this team even when it wasn't popular to do so. Someone who's watched 3 glorious Stanley Cup runs all end the same way, swear off this team forever because of the emotional toll was taking, then come back the next season to do it all over again. The fact that you're on here preaching about not being a bandwagon fan tells me you're the biggest bandwagoner on here. -

The Rangers are playing like an AV-coached Canucks team. The Canucks are playing like a Torts-coached Rangers team. And somewhere Mike Gillis is telling somebody that it's a process and that having 19 players with NTC's (exaggeration) on the team is a good thing. -

Thank you. About time somebody on here made some sense. Not sure why these guys wearing their rose-colored glasses remind me of Hitler commanding his ghost armies, refusing to even acknowledge that Berlin was being reduced to rubble. -
It's not that he's expected to say anything about making deals. It's just that we've heard the same "wanting to see what the team looks like when everyone's healthy" crap from him for almost 3 years now. The result of which is usually giving away mid-round picks and prospects for bottom 6 players. Pretty sure everyone knows what we have when the team is healthy. What's another season going to tell him?
