well this thread is boring. we need something to talk about. i'm pretty sure, for the most part, we're mature enough not to have a "TNA vs. WWE" war because there's nothing to war over. no one's really going to be happy about pro wrestling again and that's the way it is. there was one day i could think of and it was tna's first impact on monday in january or something a few years back, and after they made the jump to mondays, they were getting crushed and a few weeks later went back to thursdays, which should be their perminant slot
there are some aspects i like about tna and some aspects i like about wwe. i'm not a wwe "fan boy" i'll call them out when they do stupid stuff, and on a 3 hour tv show, there are a lot of it, but tna is just so hard for me to fall for. there are guys i like on that roster who tune me in to impact but i'm not gonna get excited and be all, "omg! this is gonna be the bestest show ever" when people do that it just turns me off. like, stop overselling the show. i respect you like it and all, you're a fan, but for me, it's just another show. i don't get excited for raw. i just hope it's not a garbage show, but i have ways to handle a 3 hour show and they have matches and segments that will draw me back in. it's the same with impact. as long as there's a reason for me to turn my tv on, i'll watch it. i don't even watch tv anymore so thursdays and mondays are good, fun nights. maybe friday... i've been liking smackdown lately, but if you like both tna and wwe, then you watch nxt, which right now, is 45 minutes of fun wrestling, then you get your impact fix. best of both worlds
most raw's leading up to a PPV don't even make me want to buy it-- which, every month, me and some buddies gather at our places, whoever is hosting the event and we'll watch the show. those days are long gone. we mostly watch the big 4 now, and to us, the big 4 is the royal rumble, wrestlemania, summerslam, and money in the bank. yes money in the bank. survivor series hasn't been a "big" show in years. with tna, yes we'll even get together and watch a tna ppv. however, they aren't doing much yet to sell me on bound for glory, which is another thing about tna. they do good stuff, but they also have the ugly, and boy, when it's ugly, it's ugly.
as for aries, i still feel he's a, not a cm punk rip off, but he has that aura about him. he's a great worker, he's definitely entertaining, but i just can't take the guy seriously some times. now for punk, i never bought the "best in the world" gimmick at all. that belongs to jericho, but i feel punk has the far better promo. he's more in to it, makes it intense, all that good stuff. he's, uh, not a bad worker too
i'm ordering summerslam to see his ass kicked by lesnar, because that's what's gonna happen. in the end, he might win. i think that's what will happen and he finally gets his hands on paul heyman, which is really what this storyline is about and it's something that just has paul's fingerprints all over. it's a classic pro wrestling angle and when you have a guy like paul heyman working on a storyline, it's gonna be good
i will admit, the card for tna's hardcore something show this thursday looks sexy. will definitly be tuning in, but i want those mma guys off my tv
but at the end of the day, whether you like wwe, tna, whatever, just enjoy the shows for what they are. tna has a slight edge without having all the social media plugs and all that stuff, but even now, they're pissing me off with the twitter s*** they're doing on impact these days, because no one really follows them outside the tna bubble, except for guys like jeff hardy and angle (idk if hardy has a twitter). got off the rails, but just enjoy the shows. there's nothing really wrong with criticising the shows. gives this thread something to talk about, but some of the tna guys here really make it hard for me to enjoy that show, which is why i dont post in this thread as often as i used to
gosh is it october yet? :|
