  1. What a garbage PGT Most of you will be back on the band wagon with the next win...….. This is a story of a young talented team in transition people..... Get use to it, for a year or two.
  2. I am not worried...…... I know you guys will jump all over me on this...……. But offense is hard to perfect..... Defense isn't...…... They will get better, like with wine...….it will take some time.
  3. YOU FANS SUCK! GOD DO YOU THINK IT IS THE FIRST TIME THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO A YOUNG TEAM? It is ok to be disappointed, but god!
  4. Well, I love Josh Anderson But I would be concerned about his new contract? It would be interesting Also....who did he play with last year, in his best year? He never was a big point getter before that......nice player But not big numbers
  5. Yeah, sorry I don't think Brock is at Petey's level,,,,,,I think Quinn has that potential, but not there yet either It surprises me that Vasily is that high...…...and I think that Thatcher is higher than DiPietro....Thatcher is like a B+ right now with A potential I also think Rathbone has B potential, but it's early My 2 cents worth. But I am still pretty darn happy
  6. LOL......I think you guys need a time out! LOL Suns out! It's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood!
  7. That is my best guess as well..... I have not heard a thing, but that is my best guess That or Jimbo is hoping Loui plays well enough to get picked up at the TDL Personally, I hope its the retire option That way there is no loss of any additional assets But who really knows?

Keppen………...……...…………......…...…..He scores goals, but what else? 22. Jack Malone...………………………………...Read a couple of articles on him. I am going to keep an eye on him I think from L.Karlsson to Malone are all the same, except Utunen, who I have seen play in person, and was impressed.
  9. Hi guys I am offering up Dman Mike Green contract expires 2020 Cap hit 4,500,000 with 2,250,000 retained ………. looking for a pick or a waiver exempt player of some value
  10. Hey a win is a win...…...sit back and enjoy it until Saturday morning Now, in saying that It has occurred to me that our 5 on 5 play or the lack of it, is an indication of where our team is right now. Our stars are a young, talented and soft, and I do not mean that in a negative way. It is an indication or reality, as when they are 25/26 they will be stronger, hardened veterans, who will be taking advantage of grizzled old veteran and young stars much like our very own. This is what Benning was getting at, when he pointed out the age of the top teams, and eventual cup winner. Those teams are laden with stars that are 25 to 30, who have gained experience and have maxed out their size and strength, and are now at their peak. Think back to the Sedin's and when they really took off as stars. Yes, there are stars that take off early and can control play 5 on 5 at an early age, but usually they are the cream of the cream, and they never are able to do it all by themselves, they need top end experienced players to play with. Again, our skilled players shine, and control the games from time to time, but they are still maturing, and when they do in 2 or 3 years, man, they will be scary. It is games like this that give me hope...not many teams score 5 PP goals in a game, most do not score multiple PP goals in a game, so it shows we have the talent, and it shows we are gaining experience and getting stronger. I am taking this year and probably next, as transition years, where we go from basement dwellers to a playoff team to a contender. We will win game we should not have, and we will loose games we should have won, but as we mature, it will be more and more that we succeed and are more consistent. Hopefully our coaching will mature along with us...…... Again a win is a win...….I'll take it!
  11. I think as Canuck fans, we look at our Roster and prospects and project 2 or 3 years down the line, as if 100% of our players will continue to progress, but I am not sure that is going to happen exactly like we want. Sure Petey, Brock, and Quinn will most undoubtedly continue to grow, but will Gaudette, Virtanen and Demko continue to grow? Will Podkolzin, Hoglander, Juolevi, Woo, Lind, Rathbone, Madden, and DiPietro take the steps necessary to fill in the holes, created by out going veterans? I think it can safely be said that Horvat, is at the top of his ceiling, and may not grow much more as a player....and that is no slight on BO Will Tryamkin come? Will Tryamkin come in and play a significant part? These are questions not know yet..... In 3 years, who replaces Edler, Tanev, Miller, and Ferland as top 6 type players? And as much as people whine about Beagle, Schaller, Sutter and Roussel, will we have enough cap space to replace them with similar type players? I think is an easy 3 years before we are a true contender, and maybe a lot longer, depending on the outcome of all the other above players and how they develop When our team is winning, we look like world beaters, when we loose, we look terrible. Personally, I have thrown away my tank keys, but having watched the last weeks games, I feel we need to slow down on our expectations, certainly I will be slowing down in my expectations. Teams that are true contenders have depth that is able to step up. Something, I do not believe we have yet. I look no further than Toronto to see, that having 3 or 4 stars does not make you a contender. Their depth is terrible. Take note of that! Rebuilds take a lot longer than 3 to 5 years normally, and normally that is for a full, deep farm team as well...………..as all are needed, to be a contender...... Our players, and the players we foresee on the big club, leaves nothing in the farm, so when you look at it objectively, it shows you we are not there now, and will need those 3 years, if not more to gain that depth...….. The ups and downs are killing me, as they are everyone...……….and it is all wait and see...……...Damn!.... Can't find my tank keys, and it cost too much to rent Alf's Crystal Ball
  12. You know what guys...out of respect for Jacob and his family, I think we need to let this be for a while It's a great discussion for a month from now...IMO Everybody, just think about their Dads and Mom's for one minute...…..
  13. Sure sounds like first world problems to me! LOL This reminds me of the old joke...……... The USA spent 50 Million to invent a pen that would write upside down in space The Russians took pencils But, back to the problem...…...I just use my lap top LOL
  14. I think your point is valid coastal......but what bugs me is this #1...……..Ottawa and Toronto to name a few are circumventing the cap in much the same way as Vancouver did. And please don't argue semantics, because you know exactly what I mean (I say respectfully) #2...……..I would also argue that Vancouver should have never agreed, and in principle, decided to go with the old boys club, instead of their own and the fans. Honestly, I do not know why they were not more vocal about this...….IMO, they owed us the fans, at least the argument #3...…….It is effecting our team, and that is why it will not go away...…….. #4...…….And your point...…...not any amount of bitching will change the outcome. (I get it!)
  15. Naw….I think they his ELC (Mikheyev) Toronto has to sign all but Travis Dermott next year...they will need every penny
  16. I agree with you...……….I have never seen a guy stronger at 19 than at 22...…….all things being equal
  17. I would probably like this better...……. Miller - Pettersson - Boeser Pearson - Horvat - Virtanen Roussel - Gaudette - Ferland Third line is tenacious Schaller - Beagle - Sutter Forth line is very defensive or Miller - Pettersson - Boeser Pearson - Horvat - Virtanen Roussel - Gaudette - Sutter Third line better all round Schaller - Beagle - Ferland Forth line a more offensive with Leivo and Motte ready to go in No room for Baertschi when we are all healthy...…..sorry!
  18. Weew, imagine loosing a top end player because we had no cap in 2 years, because we signed that top line player! Yes, it would be nice to dream, but in actual fact, there is a huge reason why we should stay the course and develop from within It is called, too many expensive players, and not enough cap space We need ELC's that are good and in our lineup...……...think Podkolzin, Hoglander and Madden and pray!
  19. So, right off the get go, I am not suggesting I have the answer in any way. I am wondering, If I have my math right, and/or I am missing the answer, in some way...…... Today, the Canucks have approx. $30,000 in unspent cap. Roussel, who is on LTIR, gets paid $3,000,000 annually. (and not part of the cap at this point) Now, Roussel will have missed 27 games of the season up to the end of November (approx. .334 of the season = $1,000,000) and 40 games, if he did not officially come back onto the pay roll until the end of December (approx. .488 of the season = 1,463,414) So my questions are...………... #1. Does the missing games and corresponding cap (as above) basically get removed from the $3,000,000 cap hit? #2. Does his conditioning stint in Utica (if he goes) count against the cap? If so...………. #3. How does Benning clear enough cap to become cap compliant? If Benning is allowed to deduct the cap that from the missing games, then he only has to clear somewhere between 1.5 to 2 million in cap, so that would be easy by sending Baertschi and/or Schaller or Leivo (Waivers???) back and/or one of Graovac or McEwen...….but I am not sure, if that is the way they do it? I can not for the life of me, imagine that they would be sending Gaudette back???? Would they? Any answers and thoughts are welcome...……...not panicking, just curious, and not really sure of the answer
  20. I think I would send Alf and Abba to a desolate Planet for life...……. They could just annoy the F out of each other...….. Just kidding Alf, but if you could use your time machine and space ship and go back in time and drop them off there Well, it would not hurt my feelings at all
