OK, call me crazy New Jersey Trades Pavel Zacha, Ty Smith, Wayne Simmonds and their 2020 1st (unprotected)...………..Cap Out $7,250,000 To Vancouver Canucks for Quinn Hughes, Adan Gaudette and Louie Eriksson...……………………...Cap Out $7,800,000 New jersey does this to re-unite the Hughes Brother for the next 12 years. Hughes is a high first rounder that turned out. That has tremendous buying power. Vancouver does this and receives #1...….Zacha, who is a great 2nd line center on a team that has Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier as their #1 and 2 centers. Zacha is on line for 42 points this year He is a huge up grade over Gaudette #2...….Ty Smith, is a great Offensive LHD prospect, who can run a power play, and play a regular shift. He has #1 upside #3...…..2020 1st......New Jersey is currently in 29th place OA and even with the addition of Hughes, will be in top 10 draft position #4...…..They get rid of Eriksson and the last 2 years of his contract I don't honestly think New Jersey would do this, but I am not sure Benning would do this either. Canuck fans would go wild, in the short term, but Zacha would ease the pain and allow Vancouver to have a much heavier top end player. If Zacha reaches his ceiling, Vancouver has another 1st line centerman, which would allow Pettersson to move to wing, if need be, otherwise, they have the best young center group in the league. The 2020 1st, gives Vancouver a very good chance at the best player in the draft, and certainly a very good player, regardless of their top 10 draft placement in a reportedly very deep top end of the draft. You now have permission to beat on me. After bludgeoning me to death...….feel free to mention where my errors are.

Dear Mr. Eriksson Please retire!
-
Not that I would try that But it does show a young man with extreme confidence in his edges and skating In general, I think that is a very good thing
-
Thing is, he does it automatically, with no forethought Very admirable, but again foolish

People are putting a medal on Tanev I see it totally different After watching last game, where twice he was off after taking shots I have formed this opinion Tanev is reckless and careless with his body And, yes he blocks a lot of shots, but every time he does, he runs the risk of breaking a foot...….. I have no problem of him doing it occasionally But, as he blocks so many he ups his chance of LTIR I think it is foolish...…. He is far more valuable, to be doing so Yes, he is fearless...……...but he is foolish also A broken foot is 6 weeks LTIR......is that worth a blocked shot? Note...……..he turns his skates many times, exposing his ankles when he does NOT smart!

Joe Biden Debates Donald Trump September 29
J.I.A.H.N replied to DonLever's topic in Off-Topic General
Yes, it seems Democrats are just as blind as Republicans It is why Bloomberg is entering the race Could be just to have a voice, and bring it back to the center a little -
To My Fellow GM's Just a simple request. If we have started a dialogue, and I have asked you a question Would it be possible for you to answer me back I am new to the game, and some of my deals may not be up to your standards, but I in no way mean to offend anyone And would expect the same in kind....it would help greatly Thanks Jan

Could Demko replace Markstrom as #1 before season's end?
J.I.A.H.N replied to Mortalis's topic in Canucks Talk
No, Q The numbers are the numbers But the analytics may say something different I agree that GAA and Save % are only 2 of a lot of numbers.....but to day Demko is the best in the whole league in both those categories Nothing to sneeze at -
Could Demko replace Markstrom as #1 before season's end?
J.I.A.H.N replied to Mortalis's topic in Canucks Talk
Markstrom has shown some solid numbers, but Demko's are better So, I think you give Demko more starts....something like 55/45 split for Marky for the remaining part first half It is one of the only beefs I have with Benning and Green.....they are a little slow on big moves I am not sure that is a bad thing, but in this case, I think it is important to see what Demko has before the TDL Not saying we should trade anyone, but if Demko can handle the extra work load, it opens up options going forward And if you don't do it, how do you know? -
Joe Biden Debates Donald Trump September 29
J.I.A.H.N replied to DonLever's topic in Off-Topic General
Looking at the Democratic field, it just looks so scattered, heading in no reasonable direction. The Warren's and Sanders are too far left, and their platforms are too aggressive. It makes me wonder, who is giving them their direction. Neither ask, why Biden is still getting support. I mean, I don't think he is the strongest candidate, but he is the most moderate, which is where, the Democrats can find most of the swing votes. IMO, that is so simple, I can not fathom, how Warren and Sanders can not see that, and adjust their platforms accordingly. The reason, it mystifies me so much, is that I have done enough collective bargaining to know that you do not get everything you ask for all at once, nor will you get the support you need if you do. There is always Hawks and Moderates. The Democrats, by their very nature should know that. It seems to me, that a much more pragmatic approach would be one where, the Dems go after the drug companies, and hospitals to lower their prices substantially, or increase their taxes, and increase the Billionaire tax (as stated), then use the moneys to fund better programs. I think that would be aggressive enough, and do some really positive things for the people of the good ole US of A. I personally think, that trying to get Universal Health Care, all in one bite, is a way too aggressive, but a stated goal of getting there over time, would be palatable to moderates on the left and right. Most people in the middle are fed up with Trump. but if they are put in a position of picking between the economy and Trump or the Dems far left agenda. Those moderates will pick Trump and hold their nose. The other thing I am a little uneasy with is the current back stabbing the Democratic candidates are doing to each other in public......no need to make it personal, but Trump has desensitized the world, and I expect better. They are turning this into an ego, issue, instead of a beat Trump issue. To me, they need to show they are the party of reason and solidarity. To me, a year out from the election, I would role out a entire candidate slate...aka whole holds what position, etc. and respond like Nancy does, every time Trump does something stupid, every time he says something stupid. Just say....."he said that? Did he?. Really?. Be the voice of reason and calm, and the people will follow (IMO) It just doesn't appear the Democrats are getting that...…….It is hard to believe they could loose the election...but they could, out of their own stupidity -
[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Chicago Blackhawks | Nov. 07, 2019

You have to admit, Miller really trusts Petey…….I mean, a little to the left and that is an entirely different story! Ouch! -
This picture would have blew my sons head off, if it was him. That is so fantastic your son had a chance like that. And thanks for those comments Deb, It really was an incredible moment. Roger my assistant coaches, was good for another hour of entertainment. My son did score a goal that game and Danny Erhman ended up playing for the Calgary Hitmen for 4 years, Pavel Bure, well, he was ok.....

GO CANUCKS GO! -
My best Pavel Bure story, was about my son..... During my son's first year of hockey, I believe My son was going down the ice on a rush, with another kid, I think my son was 6, at the time....The kid, Danny Erhman, goes through the whole team, and slides the puck towards my son....the puck slides past the goalie, and was laying on the goal line, my son skates right up to it, with the goalie out, and does the big slap shot, his feet go up in the air and he falls on the puck, the whistle blows and no goal. My assistant coach, screams in horror, and as my son returns to the bench, and he asks my son, why didn't you just simply push the puck in the net? My son, still frustrated and upset, crys out...……."I wanted to score like Pavel Bure"...……...I howled with laughter, as my assistant moaned, and cried himself......LOL It is my single most favorite memory of my son's entire hockey career, and I wish every parent felt as proud as I did with my son, at that moment...…..set your sights high son! Set your sights high!

Call for Proposal's (Jason Zucker) - Discussion
J.I.A.H.N replied to J.I.A.H.N's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I think that is a good, reasonable plan I differ somewhat, in that, I think there are teams more talented than us, who have depth and who will be front runners Now, if you are good, with just making the playoffs...hey, we have as good of a chance as anyone No Argument there. But, If Benning knows Tryamkin is coming back, and Roussel plays up to his regular belligerent self, than I think adding Zucker, who is on a quite reasonable contract, should put us near the top..... I think, "IF" the first 2 things are close as a sure thing, than we may be able to get Pettersson and Hughes to sign for less, just so we can be a contender (Admittly, they have to have that conversation first though). IMO, I think Zucker is pretty much equal to Miller in cost and skill. How could adding a player with that much impact be bad if you can fit it in? If we could get Zucker for Virtanen, Eriksson, DiPietro, Hoglander and a 1st would you do it? I would in a flash, as we would still have a lot of young depth, and IMO, we can pick up a number 2 goalie, if and when we need on as a UFA. IMO, the following line-up is top 10 if not higher...…….. Miller - Pettersson - Boeser Zucker - Horvat - Ferland Roussel - Sutter - Gaudette Schaller - Beagle - Bailey (out of the blue) Motte - Pearson - Leivo - Baertschi Edler - Myers Hughes - Tanev Benn - Stecher Fantenberg - Tryamkin Markstrom - Demko That is as good of a line-up, as you will see in the NHL. Maybe you alter the players going out a little, but you get the drift. -

I am not sure where Gaudette needs to be, as I see so many great things he is doing up here, but he needs to work on his face offs if he is going to be a NHL 3rd line center If that is here, fine...if that is in the AHL for this year, fine...…...but I need to see an improvement in that regard -

I can see your point....but just because he is sitting out on a very good team, does not mean he does not have value to a weaker team I mean, Miller was playing 3rd line in Tampa...……..hard to believe that, heh? -
