Call for Proposal's (Jason Zucker) - Discussion
J.I.A.H.N replied to J.I.A.H.N's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Thanks Vegas That is a great question, which I hoped more would make. I don't mind at all, people having a difference of opinion on this Matter of fact, I think I worded it as a discussion instead of a proposal, just to do that. I will answer, your question, with a question....If you do not mind Do you think we have a team that is good enough to win the cup? I do not think we have the personnel yet.....I do think we are close I think, from what I have learned about Zucker that he is a fast, creative, offensive, and aggressive type player I don't mind being proven wrong, it is why I put up the debate, but he would help make us more dynamic The question is, is it a good idea? Do you think he would help. Is he an upgrade? I think finding the cap, is the least of our problems, if we want him Spending the long term assets, is my biggest concern So, I wanted to come to CDC to get some more opinions...…..then I get Alf and Co, clowning around -

I totally agree with you POV on this Sven sitting down in the AHL scoring at a 2 pts per game level, only lets other teams that need a LW that Sven is too skilled for the AHL. It does not say that Sven can play for the Canucks..... In saying that, I think Benning has been platooning guys up here that deserve it, so that they can get a NHL pay check...I think it is pretty classy, and doesn't hurt the team. It may not be the best thing to do from a development POV, but it does send a good message to Utica, and around the league -

I remind everyone, that the game is decided on the ice, and not on CDC I hope the Canucks go out there and play their game, and there will be no problems Skate, be creative, and be disciplined, and the "win" will look after itself Step onto the ice thinking you don't have to worry, and you will find that there just isn't that much difference in the teams.....or any of the teams for that matter We have a great young team, who look to be ready to make their mark The worst thing they could do is think they don't have to work to win -
If anyone has seen Evgeni Malkin walking around Pittsburgh, please let him know he has been taken off the injury list...….. I would not mind him showing up!...…….Like, for a game!

I am going to do this a little differently this time. So, I think we are doing great, and this is just for interest to see what kind of idea's will come out. What would it cost to get Jason Zucker? Keep in mind, that Minnesota is in a down turn, and would love some of our younger players and prospects. Prospects not in play Podkolzin , Hoglander, Madden and Rathbone IMO, players that are in play are Ferland, Leivo, Pearson, Baertschi, Sutter, Ericksson, Virtanen, Motte Goldobin, McEwen, Lind, Palmu, Keppan, Karlsson, Lockwood and Focht Tanev and Stecher Joulevi, Brisebois, and Saunter DiPietro Please note Jason Zucker is scoring at a 50 point rate, on a bad team Jason Zucker is 27 yrs old, and plays both LW and RW, and plays on the first line Zucker makes $5.500,000 for 4 years, counting this one. Minnesota has $2,955,444 in cap space My thought in this, we just look so close to a top 10 club, it isn't funny. With Roussel coming in, sometime in the next month, we are going to be getting even stronger. Adding a player like Zucker to the current lineup, makes them even tougher to play against. I believe we can move enough cap to fit him in. I also, think Minnesota is looking for a deal. (They were in the summer) Hey, if it is a rotten idea, say so, and say why...……. If there is no support, just let it die in indifference.....Thanks!

New jersey accepts D-Money's (Minnesota's) offer for a 2020 - 2nd for Matt Grzelcyk I find this an odd way to make an offer, but Thanks! No joke! I accept your offer......….Please respond publicly -
Well, never say never!

Let Alfred pick up the tab when you both go out to lunch!
-
Alfred...…...you are out to lunch, if you think we should trade Demko Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, out to lunch! IMO, of course!

You know, he is under contract still and hopefully would not want to cause any up-heave on his current team. Further more, there is a very real possibility that his agent is deliberately causing some noise that he is coming back to get his value up in Russia Or none of these may be true, and we will see him soon...….. My point is, other than a few comments on Tweeter there has not been much, out in the public Personally, I think Tryamkin and Diamond his agent, have most likely talked to Benning and I watch/Listen for comments from Benning and he has spoken about it, saying he would like to have Tryamkin back But, to my knowledge Benning has not made any other comments As for Tryamkin, all his comments have been through Tweeter And you are right, all the rest is just us and our opinions...…...if you look in the main Tryamkin thread, you will find the comments That is about all I know...….if anyone else has more, I would love to hear about it myself...…….. Regards

This a great post. I differ with you a little, in that I feel he will come in better than when he left. But I totally get your point, and agree with you in general. For me, Tryamkin is only one spoke in the wheel. It is an exciting time, with so many great young pros and our prospect keep on raising their game. Now Palmu, which is a long shot, but still a lot better than the way he left. I am now, mostly into sitting back and enjoying the games, and not worrying too much about anything. I have parked the tank and thrown the keys away. I am more into watching our prospects develop and see what they have. I am blown away, in that Hughes has come in and done exactly what was advertised, but am equally as impressed with how Demko has come in and played like a seasoned veteran....he is totally under the NHL radar. Right now, I am probably more interested in how Benning deals with the cap, and Markstrom and Tanev, as the question is, how does he plan to proceed with their contracts, and does he plan moving them, signing them, or making a deal with Seattle. All very interesting. Tryamkin is one of 3 or 4 big questions facing Benning this year

you know...………..,people just do not understand Between 18 and 22 there is a natural progression of muscle mass and strength yes the muscles get stronger and the co-ordination that may have slowed down returns so yeah he is stronger and better than he was when he played in the AHL for that short time Not to mention his confidence has matured It just amazes me when grown Adults on CDC do not understand this Everybody is so impatient Now the fact that he has shown so well early in the year Well, lets hope he does it the whole year, and makes it hard for Benning I love this!
-
Gurn………....you sound like Trump Picking and choosing facts Absolutely, no one, other than Tryamkin knows what he is thinking Maybe, possibly Benning And everyone is making assumptions and choosing to argue them like facts you and (Me) have absolutely no idea how good he will be Whether he would be willing to go to the minors or accept a trade Or anything else And you conveniently choose not to talk about Radulov, who's story is exactly like Tryamkins Let's just wait and see "if" he comes over and pray that he is at least a #4..and I say pray!
-
Why would you think otherwise? Petey played in the SHL the year before coming over, and it is a lesser league than the KHL It did not seem to hurt his development Austin Mathews played in the Swiss league....it did not hurt him Alexander Radulov's playing history is very much like Tryamkin's his history is actually more questionable by your standards He played 2 years in the NHL, then back to the KHL for 4, then back to the NHL for 9 games then back to the KHL for another 4 years, then back to the NHL at 30 years of age where the last 2 years he has had 72 point seasons. The problem, is that some people think you can not develop anywhere but the NHL which has been totally debunked There were some pretty good older Russian defensemen that came over at the same time as Larionov and Markarov back in 1989-1990 season. (these 2 were older than Tryamkin is now, when they came) The guys played in Detroit, and Pittsburgh, the names escape me, but the guys mentioned played very good hockey over here when they came, and again by your standards they should not have been able to keep up, or have any skill The point is, we will not know, until he gets here, and has had some time to adjust Very foolish to write him off before he even gets here

Yes, and there is also Stecher, Gaudette and Virtanen and Tryamkin to re-sign
-
I hope everybody is catching the fact that Demko's numbers this year are as good as Binnington's numbers last year.... You know, Binnington who was runner up to Pettersson in the Calder race...…. Don't forget to enjoy that for a second either!
-
Are you getting your second wind or something? LOL So, again, I will remind you. I started this thread to start a discussion If you have a better way of getting Josh Andersson, I would love to hear it That is what the thread is trying to do...…….by the way...….I agree with you But come up with some new material. Like no you don't think Andersson is a good fit. Or a suggestion of how we get him...…..but something!
-
I don't disagree But I have a question about some players...…..Markstrom, Tanev can we re-sign them and have enough over the next year to pay Pettersson, Demko and Hughes? And stay under the cap...…….
-
You know how much I have wanted Tryamkin back but I am beginning to think that training camp is the time to start his come back That way, he earns his spot and no one can argue about it no gifting, no spot given, just earn it like everyone else Too many questions coming at the end of the season How good is he? Does him coming back early make him waiver eligible for the expansion draft? Who sits? So, unless Benning know something we don't know...…….Entirely possible! I would as soon have him start next year But I would like him over here asap to acclimatize Skate with the boys through the summer, learn English, etc
-
Yup 100% agree with you And that was my point of building the chart I know you, realize that there is only so much cap and so many protection spots... But some not so much So, my statement to CDC is, we can't afford all and we can't protect all So do you move on this year, and prepare yourself, or do you accept you will loose a valuable asset in the draft Personally, I think this year should be a year to make those adjustments But as you pointed out, and I agree with, it is why Benning gets the big bucks My phone never rings
-
Thanks Coastal Do we assume status quo and assume that all the contracts due this year are resigned? Aka Tanev?
