  1. PS.......I am also high on Noah Warren
  2. Well, you finally got Luneau down near where he was in your earlier list...........LOL..........and I finally agree! LOL But I actually was hoping you had Nemec and Jiricek down around the 14/15 OA pick, so we could take one of them............ Seriously though, I really do like your lists........... If we were to sign Livingstone and draft Luneau, I would be very happy..........I do understand your point about how long it take to develop......... But I have noticed lately, that in the last couple of years, drafted players seem to be taking less time to develop............... The draft preparation (rankings), and the players training within their development is being more refined, yearly, and is therefore shortening development time...... We can hope we get one of the quick learners.................(Fingers crossed!)
  3. I don't think we need to do too much............ 1. This get rid of enough cap and gives us a big RHD defensive prospect.............Boeser + 2023 3rd..............................for ...............LA'S 2022 - 1ST AND Helge Grans 2. I like the idea that was posted above.....................but less.................................Hoglander + 2024 - 2nd.........................for...............Crouse 3. I would really like us to get into the top 10 in this years draft..............................Canucks 2022 -1st + LA's 2022 -1st.........for.............Ottawa's 2022-1st* * The normal move is a 1st and a 2nd will get you moved 4 spots in the draft.........getting moved up high in the 1st costs more.........Is it enough for Jiricek?
  4. I disagree! This team has so much talent, Alf could coach it, and win! Just not Green!
  5. Just a thought.......but I always see Rathbone in proposals.......... We suffer from low scoring from the back end, and Rathbone scores and is a fast skater If we are giving him up it should be for a RHD scoring prospect of the same value...........IMHO
  6. Well, JR said we are too slow.....................We keep Rathbone because of him being Offensive and fast I think we are too small................................ So............... #1. I am moving our 1st (12 OA) and Garland at the Draft for a #3/4/5 OA pick, and drafting Nemec/Jiricek.......INO we need a #2 Dman, and this is the only way to get such #2. I am moving Boeser to LA for Grans and their 2022 1st at the draft #3. I am signing Max Domi to a 7 years @ $6 million per (currently $5,300,000) #4. I am signing Manson to a 5 year @ $5 million per (currently $4,100,000) #5. I am signing Spencer Martin to a 2 way 5 year @ 1 million per (currently $800,000) #6. I am signing Rodriguez 5 years @ 2.5 million per (currently $1,000,000) #7. I am signing Deangelo 5 years @ 2.5 million per (currently $1,000,000) #8. I am signing Karlsson for 3 years @ $1,000,000 per #9. Buy out Dickenson @ .950 Million X4 years Pearsson Miller Rodriguez..............................11.000 Domi Horvat Podkolzin...............................12.500 Hoglander Pettersson Karlsson.................................. 9.350 Highmore Lammikko Lockwood.................................3.000 Richardson........................................................1.000......................................Forwards $36,850,000 Hughes Manson............................................................12.850 OEL DeAngelo..........................................................9.860 Rathbone Myers................................................................7.000 Schenn.........................................................................1.000..................................Defensemen $30,710,000 Demko Martin...............................................................................................................................................Goalies $6,000,000 ................................................................................................................................................Roster Total $73.560,000 Buyouts..........................Holtby........$1,900,000 .......................................Virtanen........$500,000 .......................................Dickenson.....$950,000 .................................................................................................................................................Buyout Totals $3,350,000 .................................................................................................................................................Bonus's totals $2,550,000 Team Budget 2022-2023...............................................................................................................Total Cap $79,460,000 2022-2023 Team Cap................................................................................................................................... $83,500,000 ...........................................................................................................................................Total Surplus Cap $4,010,000
  7. Well, I have trying to gather my thoughts on this TDL to be able to simply put simple words together...... I find myself getting exhausted, with promises and statements, and in-action Yesterdays lack of moves in a heated market, have me truly wondering if this will be same old, same old. Maybe the offers were not there, and/or maybe the discussions were based more on the summer But I am just tired of the same old............ In saying that, I did like the Hamonic move, but I did not like the Dermott move The Motte move, I was disappointed in, as I thought it should have been made a week earlier before all the trades started filling the holes in teams............. I am left with the same dreaded feeling of almost being in and no evaluation of its realistic chance Which is the reason IMO, they waited to last day to move Motte As a Canuck fan, I will suck it up and hope one more time, as I always do, but I am getting much more jaded and fickled in my trust of this franchise, so maybe it is just me! I have to say, I was talking to some of my hockey buddies, who are also Canuck fans And we all agree that, we are loosing interest in them to some degree........... The over riding comment was that we are getting tired of watching a improperly built team, repeatedly doing the same thing over and over again, with no positive results All agreed, if not for Miller and Demko, we would have been a bottom 10 team, if not lower I am done for now!
  8. Here..............so we trade with Toronto for Dermott IMO, that is a fringe NHL player we can pick up in the summer Again, IMO, the 3rd pick is more important, and just as valuable.
  9. Yeah, I tend to agree, but you need willing trade partners, a willing owner, and a willing fan base (of which, I think there is a real split either way)................. Like I said, I am just worried, I never get to see a championship team here in Vancouver
  10. Moves? Sure! But, really this just reeks of Benning's past moves, because in the end, it is his mess that is dictating all the problems we are having............... It is Benning that absolutely refused to get Green out of here, which in turn, caused us to loose so many points early in the season. So here we are, a team that has been winning at a playoff percentage rate, that is stuck in a pile of teams, that would not normally be where we should be, if that makes sense........ It is Benning that signed Boeser to a contract that has a qualifying offer of 7.5 Million. It is Benning that made the OEL/Garland move..........To me, it is Benning that pisses me off any direction I look...........again, prospect pool that is empty, and good enough to be a fringe playoff team, but not good enough to be a top 10 competitive team, with no chance to be one, because again................no prospects and no Cap! It is a mess to me. I am not worried about Miller aging out! I am worried about me aging out, before we get a cup!
  11. Hey Provost Just going to call you on this..............first you say he is virtually worthless Then you say he is worth a 1st and a prospect.............which is it? I see him more like this.................... The first for the talent The prospect for the retention and a 2nd or 3rd for the potential to re-sign or trade him to recover the assets lost I do agree, you trade him though......... I would go, something like ............2022-1st + Helge Grans + 2023-2nd That is less that Giroux got, and he is younger, and still an RFA.....so that is it
  12. He was on something all right! Every time I see Rasmus Andersson playing...........I start grinding my teeth!
  13. This is an incredible idea............because adding a 3rd pairing Defenseman will put us over the top!l I mean, this is exactly what we need to be a contender..................let's get it done "Jim Benning"!
  14. True, but the still have house a team. Stralman is gone at the end of this year.........
  15. LOL I had to go back and think about it a bit, but I got it! Sucks getting old! So, in the end, we are giving Arizona Poolman for Halak's bonus money (I think we can do that!) Poolman is basically a neutral move in the sense that he will be a 3rd pairing DMan, but there just are not alot of RHD, so there is some value to him. His contract is not crippling, and Arizona is trying to shed cap, so this works for them............. I could be wrong, but that was the thought process..............
  16. If our goal is to win now ( Not 3 years down the road then this) I think this high-lites, just how hard it is to build a Championship team. I am not in favor of moving Garland, as he is a very good net player, and with no PP time to speak of is only 3 points behind Boeser, and is +15 ahead of Boeser at even strength. If not for Boeser's PP points he would have 20 points. Far behind Garland. My argument is that Garland is a very good even strength player, which is what you want on a Championship team. IMO, I think we are very (extremely) close to being a top 10 team. (And would be, for the most part for the next 5 years, with tweaks. I think the most important thing is to move cap around, and reallocate cap into absolute needs. Our Absolute needs are: #1. Is a heavy #1/2 defensive oriented RHD who can play all situations. This can only be obtained through Trade ...........Target Ryan Pullock + for Pettersson #2. A proper #3 Center, one who can play heavy defensive minutes, and chip in on offense. Done through Trade...............Target Scott Laughton for Boeser #3. A winger to replace Boeser, which should be done through UFA......................................................................................Target Max Domi sign in UFA If our goal is to win in 3 years, then our moves should be entirely different So, if this is the case, and we are building for the future, then moving Miller this TDL is absolute imperative, after that Boeser. These 2 alone, bring in major future assets. IMO, all other moves if we choose this route, are just Lateral in nature. We are stepping back short term. I am very mixed on this which plan is better, the first one makes us good now, but the cost, we would not like. The second one is more pain, and more waiting, which we would not like. I guess in the end.................live today, and plan for tomorrow, so I go with the first plan.
  17. Well, I was trying to keep all our core, but it is hard IMO, I think we need to have that extra cap, which we could use it short term , but the truth is we need it long term for our other contracts.......... Where I was coming from, was not to weaken the team, but to rid the excess contracts, and strengthen our RHD in the process....I think I did that
  18. These moves are made to create Cap space, for Miller, Horvat, Blueger and Severson in the 2023-2024 Season. It should be noted that Myers will be coming off the books, the year Roy's contract is up. This keeps our future Picks and allows us to continue to build. We gave a lot of winger strength, but totally over hauled our RHD. IMO, it is easier to replace Wingers than RHD..............Ok, read and blast away!............Note, we keep Miller! I will also say, that I have been really impressed with Lammikko, and feel he could easily move up with Blueger be winger, which we could then find a cheaper 4th line center. Boeser ($6,750,000) and Hamonic ($3,000,000) for Damon Severson (NJ) $4,166,666 X1 Cap Space Saved: - $5,583,333 Garland ($4,950,000) and Dickenson ($2,650,000) for Matt Roy (LA) $3,150,000 X 2 Cap Space Saved - $5,450,000 Hoglander ($891,667) and Motte (1,225,000) for Teddy Blueger (Pitts) $2,200,000 X 1 Cap Space Saved + $83,333 Poolman ($2,500,000) and Halak ($1,500,000) for Anton Stralman ($5,500,000 x 0) Cap Space Saved - $2,500,000 UFA Signings 2nd line - Winger.........................Domi 6 years @ $5,500,000 3rd line - Winger.........................? Approx. $3,500,000 3rd line - Winger.........................? Approx. $3,500,000 Miller ($5,250,000) Pettersson ($7,350,000) Podkolzin ($1,000,000) Pearson ($3,250,000) Horvat ($5,500,000) Domi ( $5,500,000) ..................... Blueger ($2,200,000) ........................ Highmore ($1,000,000) Lammikko (1,000,000) Lockwood ($1,000,000) $33,050,000 Hughes ($7,850,000) Roy ($3,150,000) OEL ($7,260,000) Severson ($4,1666,666) Rathbone ($1,000,000) Myers ($6,000,000) $30,466,666 Schenn ($1,000,000) Demko ($5,000,000) Martin ($1,000,000) $6,000,000 Total : $69,516,666 2022 - 2023 Cap $83,500,000 - $69,516,000 = $13,983,334 - Wingers $7,000,000 = $6,983,334 Cap space
  19. And I would bet a large part of the top 16 have worse or similar records to that..............
  20. Ok.................here we go! Yes, it was a bad start....................but the Canucks out played them, more than they out played us........... But, we did score 2 goals, which is good against the 2 time Stanley Cup Champions...........just saying Add to that the non - calls, and really it wasn't that bad a game......... Now, let us talk about the elephant in the room.................. Hamonic and Hughes were on for both goals, and Hamonic made some dumb plays after that as well. IMO, I would like to see Boeser moved for a defensive #2 RHD, even if that includes a moving additional assets to do it. And it is not because he is a bad player, it is because there are no real playmakers on this team outside of Hughes and he is not a generator................he is pure shooter, and does not fit BB system well. Now, Lammikko on the other hand is just impressing me more and more, but that is another issue.
  21. It is funny Alf, but I actually never thought you knew anything about hockey..........but you are right! That is how hockey works!
  22. Well they did tonight........Washington's goalie had a .885 Demko wasn't what lost us the game Alf A $&!#ty 3 on 3 lost us the game..........
  23. Ok Alf Do you remember the first Canada Cup, when the Russians did not have many shots, but won the first 3 games in Canada? Not very many shots, but all high quality shots If the quality of shot goes up, the save percentage goes down...... That's the way it works...........sorry buddy! Demko made some nice saves!
