  1. Sir................ I knew Capt. James T Kirk And you are no Capt. James Tiberius Kirk!
  2. Nice Goal But Demko is the guy that gave us the chance to come back
  3. Well, I kind of see it like this............ 1. Rathbone..........................I think Jack has the chance to be a 2nd pairing LHD 2. Lockwood..........................I think Lockwood will end up being a 4th line RWer in the NHL 3. Karlsson............................Karlsson needs to come over and we will see.....possible 3rd line center 4. Klimovich...........................He is young and could turn into a 3rd line RWer 5. McDonough.......................I almost put him down further. A real boon or bust prospect for me 6. Woo...................................I would like to hear more good news from Abby about Jet 7. Jurmo.................................Is he an Edler or will he be an Elder? 8. Trusscott.............................Solid player, who is playing with Powers at Michigan........Dark Horse 9. Persson..............................Is he being deployed properly? Another Dark Horse? 10. Silovs.................................Make or break season next year 11. Zlodeyev.............................I love this guys defensive game, offense is coming......Hmmmm? 12. Costmar.............................Pain in the arse player.........could end up 4th line winger! Or could not! 13. Myrenberg.........................Great numbers, another Dark Horse 14. DiPietro.............................A bucket of cold water I think our 1st round pick automatically becomes our best prospect. As you can see, I do not like DiPietro so much. Once past Lockwood, and Rathbone, I think all the rest are long shots, and I would love to see all the long shots in Abby next year. Not happening, but I wish! Myrenberg and Truscott still in Juniors/NCAA/Europe The question is, what players are moved for what.............Boeser, Motte are moved, but is it for picks, or players? Possibilities............. Boeser for a pick and prospect.............(RHD and a late 1st/2nd) Motte for a pick.....................................(Motte 2nd) We shall see
  4. Boeser is greater than these 3.................. Tippett + 2022 1st ish Zadina + 2022 2nd ish Konecny + 2022 2nd ish Brock's seasons have been better, he is better established
  5. I tell you guys. He is going to Columbus..........they got cap space, and are close JT Miller and Tucker Poolman to Columbus for Max Domi,* Corson Ceulemans, and Chicago's 2022- 1st (8th OA) JR will have permission to talk about contract before the trade is done. This is the best you will see, IMO, and I would take it!
  6. JR just having fun with us and see how many he can knock off their chairs! Sorta like Whack a Mole for GM's...................him and Drury (NY Rangers GM), just laughing their A$$es off, as they see CDC explode!
  7. What a great game! Demko doing what Demko does. Just Wow! Fun to watch!
  8. This............ I did not start this thread with an agenda, but the more you think about it, it is pretty much like Wanless says.......... I look at Miller's potential contract as this............ 5,250,000 this year.28 years old...................JR says rebuild 5,250,000 he will be 29 years old..................2nd year of rebuild Canucks still rebuilding 8,500,000 possibility coming out of rebuild....30 years old ..........year 1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8,500,000 sure out of rebuild.........................31 years old ..........year 2....he'll be good 8,500,000 out of rebuild.................................32 years old ..........year 3....he'll be good Canucks good and so is Miller 8,500,000 out of rebuild.................................33 years old ..........year 4....he'll be good ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8,500,000 out of rebuild.................................34 years old...........year 5..starting to decline 8,500,000 out of rebuild.................................35 years old ..........year 6..starting to decline Core starting to age out, so is Miller 8,500,000 out of rebuild.................................36 years old...........year 7..declined 8,500,000 out of rebuild.................................37 years old...........year 8..declined OK, JR, do you want to put down all this money for 3 years? $78,500,000 of Cap over the next 9.5 years.........I think that handcuffs us!
  9. So, while I was collecting information for my argument on HF Board, I stumble onto some very convincing info. I pose this to CDC, and will follow it up with an opinion, and questions. The basics of my comments are based on a comparison between JT Miller and Mika Zibanejad, so here we go! (Over the last 3 years) Mika Zibanejad.........168 GP 181 pts 1.08 G/GP EVP 106 PPP 63 SHP 12 GWG 14 SH% 16.0 TOI 20:34 FO% 49.2 DOB Apr 18, 1993 JT Miller....................176 GP 179 pts 1.02 G/GP EVP 106 PPP 69 SHP 4 GWG 12 SH% 15.6 TOI 20:36 FF% 55.3 DOB Mar 14, 1993 These guys are identical in their stats, except in FO%, which favors Miller, and plus minus where Zib +29, is greater to Miller's +11, although, it would be an easy argument, that Millers quality of line-mate is greater than Millers, and on a better overall team. In summary of stats, they for all intents and purposes, are close enough to be the be considered of equal quality. Now this is where the interesting part is................... Mika Zibanejad...........................$5,350,000 $8,500,000 $8,500,000 $8,500,000 $8,500,000 $8,500,000 $8,500,000 $8,500,000 $8,500,000 JT MIller..................................... $5,250,000 $5,250,000 UFA So, as you can see age, ability, and stats the last year of existing contract are almost identical.....within $100,000, so given that JT Millers new contract will be signed 1 year later than Mika Zibanejad's, it is certainly reasonable to think JT Miller will get a comparable contract, if not, a shade more. I suggest 7 years at $8,600,000 per will be where he settles, which will take him to exactly the same retirement year as Zibanejad. Now, other teams have stars that are paid more, so I am not sure we can say, we can not afford it, but under our existing cap commitments, and with Horvat, Boeser, and Pettersson in 2 more years, do we want to commit that much to one player? Is his value in his play or in his return? (Depending on the return). This is the dilemma JR faces this TDL. Please feel free to comment.
  10. Hell, they could be drafted and never play hockey again!
  11. There is lots of room for criticism for all players 1. Halak was a sieve 2. Our Defense could not handle New Jerseys speed in the first half of the game 3. Our forwards produce very little offense last night........easy turn overs 4. No physicality at all, especially the forwards But the biggest thing I seen last night was how the team as a whole played so much better with Demko in the nets. It was like 2 different teams, where it should not have been. IMO I did not see Demko make that many big saves, but rather, the team stepped up and their attention to detail improved dramatically. Unfortunately, the game was over. If I am BB, it is what Pisses me off most about the game. It was the difference of how the team played in front of each goalie. And it is not the first time. I think the question is, are we ready to take the next step, in the next 2 years? If so, then JR needs only to tweak the roster, but, my question is with how we are constructed, regarding Cap, how do we make those tweaks? JR can certainly not rely on our farm system to give us that relief, and our cap pretty much prevents us from doing any real improvements, even if we moved enough cap space, not to tweak the defense. Aka, moving Dickenson/Poolman/Halak only gives us enough cap relief to pay Boeser, then the same problem happens the next year with Horvat and Miller, then the next year Pettersson will need a top up. The common thread in all that is, it is all forwards we are working on with our Cap. This leads me to the point, that IMO, JR needs to rejig the entire team, and undo some of Benning's commitments, or we take at minimum 2 year step back, and rebuild/retool etc. I think those that think Martin fixes everything, are really fooling themselves. It may improve things, but with such a small sample size in regards to Martin, I would not bank on it. And it does not fix the RHD or the 3rd line center hole, we have. Too many holes in the Dike, to think we are close to being a consistent competing team. Sure a 500 team, but to take that next step, and win consistently, against top 10 opposition, I think we are a ways off, with no remedy in site.
  12. Halaks save percentage tonight.......................... ..571.............................tonights GAA.................lots, and lots, and lots Demko's save percentage tonight..........................947..............................tonights GAA................1.78
