  1. We have priorities and that would like a #3 on any list of mine............. #1.........1/2 RHD #2. 3rd line center who can take FO and penalty kill #3..........sure Crouse!
  2. I think it should be easy to understand OEL contribution tonight. the old Fox still has it.
  3. Why do you think Seider is slow, Alf...................? LOL I am also deferring to JR thinking he is worth it.........don't you trust JR?
  4. Ok, so 90% of Canadians over 5 years of age are Vaccinated............the mortality rate and the Hospitalization rates, of Vaxxers vs Anti -Vaxxers are substantially different, and with the majority being Vaccinated, they remain out of the hospital, so that Vaxxers get much better care................. What if Hospitalizations were close in percentage, but mortality rates were not. Then nurses and doctors would have to treat everyone the same. Aka less attention to hospitalized Anti-Vaxxers................... This is not happening, because Vaxxers have reduced Hospitalizations and Mortality....................there for their decision to get vaccinated, saves lives, and opens up beds for others that may need them..............that is for the greater good of Society.......... What are Anti-Vaxxers doing for the greater good of Society?
  5. OK Fans and Foe..........This is a 3 part question. #1. If JR thought that Seider was going to be a #1 dominant defenseman, would you be ok with going after Seider ? #2. This will take a massive overpayment, IMHO #3. Would you be willing to trade Pettersson, Boeser and a 2023 Unprotected 1st for Seider? (Because if JR is of the opinion that yes he will be, than it will take an massive over payment) OK, so let's say, that JR does this, and we have Seider who will still be on a ELC for 2 more years after this one. Thinking Hedman/Ekblad type player and contract............This does open up Cap to retain Horvat and Miller, and allows us short term Cap space to buy some decent UFA's, and will allow us to draft our 2022 1st for a pretty good player, this coming year. So are you on board or are you stringing me up? Remember, only if JR's opinion of Seider is he will be Hedman/Ekblad calibre.
  6. Here is one more outstanding factor. Vaccinated save Anti-Vaxxers lives, by being vaccinated............... Think about that for a second!
  7. Society has many reason they want you Vaxxed The most important, out side of keeping you alive, is so that Hospitals do not get over run all at one time. Vaxxed people reduce the amount of people hospitalized by Covid, and certainly reduce the amount of people in ICU. Imagine one of your loved ones being Immunity Compromised, and not being able to get a hospital bed, because there are so many Anti-vaxxers taking up beds. Imagine having to tell that little girl that she can not have surgery because the hospital is full of people that are there, just because the did not care about her health. Yes, vaxxed people can get sick, but the Vaccine reduces the number of them that need to go to the hospital. I have now had approx. 200 friends and acquaintances that have had Covid, and none have had to go to the hospital.................... To me, that implies the vaccine works and is helping keep the hospital clear................it is simple as that!.......extrapulate it for other diseases, and reasons........... Now tell me, an Anti-vaxxers rights are more important...............F......them!
  8. Hmmmm.......Just day dreaming, now, But here is one for you. So, a company requires you to wear PPE for your job. Including a face mask, and steel shoes. But you say no, I would never step on a nail, and if I do, then I will just go to the hospital and get repaired.......I might be off for 2 weeks, but I have sick days, so I will be ok.............. The Company fires them for non-compliance.......................could they get sued? and would the company Loose? I would think not!
  9. Right in the first line of your comments is the key. Anti-Vaxxer, think they have an Absolute Right, to which there is no such thing. All rights come with conditions. And if you meet the conditions, then you have the right. But to say absolute, is a fallacy, and it very wrong. There may be some, but I can't think of any at the moment. They always come with what if's.
  10. I am wondering what the law would do about a more deadly virus, like Ebola, or worse? Where the infected are basically in house arrest. What happened in Toronto with HINI? Were people allowed to ignore the public health order? I asked my friend who is an anti-vaxxer if he would get then vaccine if the mortality rate was 50% for those that were not vaccinated..........he said yes he would. I laughed!
  11. This is a good question. Do doctors not have a legal obligation to provide the most appropriate diagnosis and medical care, that is in line with the Doctors accepted practices? So what if that person is told not to take the vaccine by the doctor, and the patient dies? Could he be sued for mal-practice?
  12. What if she went to work and gave Covid to a co-worker who then int turn died? Now, if London Drugs allowed her to work, would they be liable for the co-worker death? Or even greater?, what if she gave it to a customer, and that customer died? Does the company not have the right to protect its-self from litigation?
  13. I would love the Stanley Cup Champions to play the All-stars (Sorry for the capitals, but they belong there!)
  14. So, if we are going to take a step backwards..............then in for a penny, in for a pound! But you can't sell the whole farm! My list is this.............at least today! LOL 1. Miller at 50%..........Miller at 2.6 Million for a year and a half has huge value..........most definitely the least he gets is a A prospect, and a 1st.....probably more 2. Halak......................IMO, he gets a late 2nd. His bonus will have been paid, and his play and stats are solid, as insurance, he is the best goalie out there 3. Motte......................Well, I think Motte has a great name around the league, and has proven his ability..............he will get a late 2nd 4. Chaisson................A team trades for him because he is a guaranteed commodity, a veteran, who can sit and come in and give consistancy............a 4th I like Pearson's honest game, he plays heavy on the boards, and no one has forced him off of Horvat's line. Until that time comes, he is here. Pearson's game is not flashy, but his consistency should be noted. Total team player, never ever creates drama. He can play 3 rd line if asked. does not get the credit he deserves. Although Poolman is a dime a dozen type player. He is playing pretty good for what he is. He is a plus 3. That is pretty dependable. His draw back this year is his contract size, but if he plays as well as he has (3rd pairing) next year, he would have some value. Hamonic, is a waste of space, and it befuddles me, why Benning signed him again, knowing his views on Covid. Plus his injury history! IMO, he has no trade value, and would cost us asset to get rid of him. He has been extremely disappointing to me. I keep Boeser because of his age, for now. IMO, he gets 6.75 to 7.00 with JR at the negotiating table. (Yes, I know he will not be doing it, but he driving the boat!) Garland is a keeper, especially right now. He plays a big game, and his cap hit is awesome, in the same way as Miller's is. I am not sure Garland is worth a 9th OA pick, but he plays a full 60 minutes at a pretty high level. His contract is a beauty! Anyways, there is my 4...............for what it is worth!
  15. I like this post! LOL........we could be married to the same wife! LOL
  16. here are some differences Miller vs Eichel Eichel being injured at the time, was also being a pain in the arse to the Buffalo brass, also he carried a $10,000,000 contract, which is huge, if the player never recovers........ Now, Vegas obviously was willing to throw in a lots, but not really so much that if Eichel did not respond to treatment............. Now, NY Rangers liked Schneider, and was kicking the tires on Eichel, but if you look at their Cap, would have had to move a hell of alot of players, just to get enough cap Compliancy..........and not just also rans, but bigger names........again, NYR were not about to move heaven and earth. As well as they actually like Schneider............. having actually moved up to get him. Now one does not cancel the other out..........NYR asked, but were not serious, Vegas was..............especially for a guy who was trouble, with a huge cap and not guaranteed to actually play another game in the NHL................... Personally..........I do not blame NYR for their stance...................... But that has absolutely nothing to do with the next player that comes along.......................especially if that guy will actually play guaranteed games, and at a potential cap hit of 2.6 million on retention................. You can not connect the 2 just because you want to........................nor can you dis-connect them either.......... Your argument has merit, but again it is not absolute.............you argue like it is.
  17. Carlo's number are actually worse than Myers....are you sure that is who you want?
  18. IMO, JR does not have a lot of time to play around in regards to when he obtains his young RHD I would have no problem if we traded Miller for Schneider, a 1st and ?, in that I see it exactly the same as you and would have no problem adding a late 1st to a probable 9/10 OA 1st to move up high enough to get Juricek In the end, Juricek would get Rathbone a much higher chance of success, in the top 4, as well.........
  19. But I am not saying he isn't impactful...........that is the point.............he is but he does not have all the tools the others do..................that is far from saying he isn't amazing or I want to trade him Far from it.
  20. Hell yeah, lets get a more powerful engine, when we do not have any wheels! You are not getting Laff from NYR for Miller straight up.................no way!
  21. I think you don't know Seider, Alf. He is very good! Not that Hughes isn't. But you may be right, Hughes is probably better, which is why I deferred the question to people greater than I. But let's get back on topic.............it is not about Hughes
  22. i agree I think everyone is thinking I am gauging him as a 50/100, which is not what I am saying at all What I am saying is he is a 80 to 85 out of a 100 and Fox and Maker are a bit better............... I do think that both are better north/south skaters than Quinn, and can take off with the puck out of their zone better Where Quinn has to use his lateral movement and quick turns to separate himself from his checkers Again, I am splitting hairs, but I see a difference.................he also has no shot to speak of There are differences, which is why the rest of the NHL does not speak of Hughes as a Norris candidate Not yet, anyways.......... Would I trade Hughes for Maker or Fox straight up? Yes! Would I trade Hughes for Hronek in Detroit? Not in your life! Would I trade him for Seider in Detroit? I would have to think about it, and refer to some one more knowledgeable about the 2 in comparison We are talking about elite, here gentlemen!!! We are splitting hairs for the most part.
