Soucy is such a good fit, plus he's a heavy hitter & fighter. Hronek is probably the perfect pair for him. Although, him and Myers together is a massive blue line pairing.

McLeod or Geekie please. Prime 3rd line RH Center candidates. Blackwood for Backup.

Per the various models OEL provided about 5 mil of value in 2021-2022 - which if you thought you were going to get this year you’d take vs his cap hit.
The “injured his foot” makes sense for a slow start, but he got worse as the year continued and you’d think as he played himself into shape that would have been the opposite. It’s likely the foot exasperated other issues and he had a bit of a physical cascade body failure - that fits with what we saw real time.
There’s always a chance he bounces back this season but as I think about it, I can see why management would bet against it.
Again, still not a big fan of the move but it is what it is. If OEL plays terribly next season I think it’s fair to concede this was the right call.
What if he pulls a Karlsson tho... OEL seemed great when Hughes was out.

I still blame Eriksson for all of this.

Kyle Beach cover-up scandal lasts 12 years and costs the Blackhawks 2M, the same amount of $$ that they made in an hour after winning the lottery

The NHL:
Eberle breaks Cogliano's neck -- "Ah, that's fine"A canucks player works out -- "They'll pay for that"

Anthanasiou (and Provorov) is the reason Chicago placed where they did to win the lottery:
Tied the game with 2 minutes left against Philadelphia, then Chicago ended up losing in OT.
- If Chicago didn't tie the game, they would've ended up 31st and Columbus would've won the lottery
- If Chicago won the game, they would've ended up 29th and SJS would've won the lottery. -
Love how the broadcast announced Chicago had won the lottery before the Columbus pick was shown

I'll admit... this trade terrified me at first (thought the Islander's pick could be a top 5 next year... especially with Barzal out)
I am RELIEVED that the Isles made the playoffs... it makes this trade SO much better! Now to cheer for them to make it to the 3rd round

Discussing with a friend the other day, and it seems like the trajectory of the Canucks is eerily similar to that of the Colorado Avalanche's 6 years ago. So I decided to make a bit of a comparison of similarities between the 2 teams:
Main differences: Vancouver has a franchise goalie in Demko... BUT also have cap trouble...
** I also should note that Devon Toews won the cup in his 2nd season with the Avalanche...Do you think we could be closer to winning the cup than we think!?

What a goal
so stupid to sit Kuz. Guy is gonna score 40 goals for you barely making any money this season.

If we trade Myers at 50% retained next season, we will only have to pay him 500k, correct? I think that would entice a lot more teams then him at 6M

Guy is just the 2nd coming of Valeri Nichuskin... except Kravstov was taken 1 spot higher...

Funny how the 1st round picks the Canucks had at the start of February (NYI & VAN) had so much value back then. They've both lost their value significantly these past 2 weeks.

[Waivers] Filip Zadina

The 2018 draft really was the Canucks version of winning the lottery. Canadien's need for Center forced them into picking Kotk, Yotes doing their classic 'off-the-board' pick with Hayden, which forced the Wings into taking Zadina as he was the consensus 3rd or 4th pick (some had him at 2), giving us Huggy Bear.
Sidenote - Canadiens and Coyotes still not learning with their reaches in the draft this year.
