It would have been nice to have Toffoli, but can we stop beating a dead horse?
I bet Benning wanted Toffoli to re-sign as well, I'm not going to keep repeating what many many posters have already said about the various reasons why it was essentially impossible.
Just let it go man
Watching the game last night it seems obvious that JV needs a desperate change in scenery. He has had ample opportunity to show he wants to stay and make a difference on the team. Unfortunately at this point it doesn't seem like he is ever going to put it all together for us.
He might end up in Seattle or another team and find his game, I just don't think it's going to be with Vancouver.
Or maybe he felt it was better for his future hockey career and development if he played more minutes in all situations? And by most accounts he has done pretty well playing in the KHL and gaining valuable experience.
I don't count it as "quitting on the team", He still seems to be interested in playing for the Canucks, his IG pic is him in a Canucks uniform!! That doesn't sound like he doesn't want to be part of the team.
Not sure how he's going to pan out and adjust to the NHL, but I enjoyed watching him play for the Canucks before and I will be rooting for him if he re-signs.
I think JB would have preferred to re-sign Toffoli. I don't think anyone foresaw a flat cap due to covid and loss of revenues.
Also, personally I would love to see Tryamkin get a look. He brings much needed size and snarl, and IIRC, he can play both right and left D.
I think the intent behind restricting movement between health regions is just to discourage unnecessary travel.
I cannot comprehend why people insist on finding loopholes, like the reporter today asking if people on the Island can travel from Victoria to Tofino... The spirit of all this is to limit leisure travel and limiting spread of the virus. How isn't it just common sense that hey maybe I shouldnt travel 2 hours away for fun?
Holtby haters can shut up now!!
He kept us in this game all night! Veteran, calm presence, stepping up big time!
So proud of this team tonight, after all they've been through these past few weeks, they've played their hearts out!
India is getting hit pretty hard sadly. A third world country with overpopulation and overcrowding, poor sanitation, illiteracy and ignorance - I have relatives out there saying that COVID-19 is just the flu and nothing to worry about.
On a side note, I've heard several stories about people buying false negative tests and flying back to Canada. I wonder how closely the government is looking into this considering a number of flights from Delhi that have had positive cases.
