  1. Happy 2024! Enjoy!
  2. It's a hassle at times to get Canucks games. I recently scrapped my cable as the bill was way to high to pay for terrible content with overwhelming commercials. Getting rid of cable, Center Ice is off the table and I'm stuck with NHL Gamecenter...not bad but can't watch playoffs, you'd think the NHL would actually own their product and I just saw as of yesterday. I get some random blackouts....for Seattle games. I should explain further....I'm a lifelong Canucks fan down here in Washington state (now behind enemy lines) I use to be able to watch Canucks games either from cable or even antenna but that is longer an option. No more HNIC to boot...and NBC doesn't even come close in terms of coverage/depth in my opinion.
  3. After a week in the hospital, my daughter is home and will make a 100% recovery. Life is good!

We spent a week at Harborview Medical Center (Seattle)She fell with a pencil, pencil went above eye and 3 inches into her brain. She could have died and at minimum have severe brain damage but instead I have a happy, healthy 2 year old that wants to watch the game tonight. A scary ride but all is well.

someone was watching out for her.

  4. We'll be back on the Island soon. Very happy for Hicketts, another really nice kid. Spoke with him a few weeks ago at the Everett Silvertips Preseason Tournament. My son had many questions for him, Hicketts was very patient. I could be wrong but it seems Victoria has much more home games on weekdays then the last couple years.
  5. Not discrediting this but we'll see. I fully expect today's events to be a vomit filled roller coaster ride.
  6. I'll wait until the dust settles a bit but I kind of hope this is our guy. However, won't lie. I know little about Desjardins until recently, he has a great resume and hopefully it will continue to impress at the NHL level, assuming it's with Vancouver.
  7. Don't have much to contribute but I'm impressed with the Giants organization. Considering this past season was a rebuild and they had the phrase (Champions under construction) and still made the playoffs. I expect Vancouver to do very well.
  8. I'm not proud of it but I dated her briefly. It was a rough time and I was doing some serious drinking. It's unfortunate that Lucic pulls these stunts. I remember watching him play against the Seattle Thunderbirds, the guy has talent but needs to knock off the sideshow crap.
  9. I feel one year isn't enough for Torts. I certainly like his honesty and holding players accountable. I do like the idea of Trotz taking the HC spot but I have no substance to support this, just my bias opinion. Plenty of rumors out there but I didn't get the GM gig. Apparently Mr.Linden was not all that impressed with my results on the coloring book portion of the testing process but he did smile when I shared my drinking stories. Sorry to report that I am no longer in the running for GM of the Canucks.
  10. Great game/series. I would like to see St.Louis advance. Rooting for TJ Oshie, being our "local boy" down here in Washington. Also great to see Lappy! Just my random thoughts....
  11. Coleman Vollrath earns his first WHL career shutout vs.Kootenay last night. http://voicevicroyals.blogspot.com/2013/12/recap-ktn-0-vic-3.html
  12. Just mentioning this-meet up Jan.21st http://www.nucksmisconduct.com/2013/11/20/5126358/nucks-misconduct-island-meet-up
  13. Not sure what goalies are available. I'm guessing a few but might be a high price. This past off season the Seattle Thunderbirds were eager to get a veteran goalie. Only one real serious chat that I'm aware of was with Kelowna for Cooke but the Rockets wanted the moon in return so to speak and Seattle wasn't willing to deal.
  14. Had the pleasure of attending the Everett Silvertips preseason tournament this weekend. As expected, the first series of games was rusty but by day 3,most teams really upped their game. I was primarily interested in watching Victoria but my wife loves Seattle and I was impressed, granted,it's only 3 games but plenty of positive buzz surrounding Seattle and Barzal. Anyhow...time to drop the puck!
  15. Yeah, ankle I believe back at the end of December, not sure of when he will be back on the ice http://voicevicroyals.blogspot.com/2012/12/recap-pg-1-vic-5.html On another note, brutal loss tonight but looking forward to seeing them again back in Seattle tomorrow
  16. Now that was a great game, that's the first time I've gone to ShoWare and cheered against Seattle. One thing that I noticed, although not breaking news, the Royals are excellent skaters, they were running circles around Seattle. I was able to take some photos but cellphone quality. Looking forward to their return in January against Everett & Seattle
  17. Great game, still haven't been up to Victoria this season but making plans. However, looking forward to seeing them Tuesday against Seattle (in Kent) wife got me tickets on the glass,2nd row. Hoping to get a few signatures on my jersey but either way it will be a great evening
  18. Just 1 back from Kamloops. I typically tune in via web/radio but had to work and get updates through the WHL app.
  19. Obviously still very early in the season but the Royals look pretty resilient with some of their games this year. Certainly a good matchup this evening in Kamloops. Looking forward to getting back up to Victoria and attending some games with the family. Saw this article yesterday evening but I'm sure the general census is the same for most teams and leagues. http://www.vicnews.com/sports/173316991.html
  20. Although its unfortunate for Chiliwack,I'm glad to see the WHL back in Victoria. I lived in Port Angeles,Wa in the late 80's-early 90's and use to hop on the Coho and attend Cougar games until they moved to Prince George. The family and I will be making a few trips up there this season,I'm trying to attend one of the skate with the team events,my six year old son would have a blast. Anyhow,I'm rambling again....
