  1. What was that about Benning not being able to draft in the mid-late rounds?

The asterisk for this list is that a lot of those games that the Canucks are being credited with are being played Gustav Forsling -- for the Chicago Blackhawks.

That said, we do have internal options that are working out for us including Nikita Tryamkin (his games count and he's probably returning next March), Adam Gaudette, Guillaume Brisebois, and even Michael DiPetrio's one game counts.

The draft is always a crapshoot in the later rounds and it does show that our amateur scouting has gone from our organization's biggest weakness to one of its strength. I'm still very excited to see Lukas Jasek, Jack Rathbone, Will Lockwood, Tyler Madden, and Toni Utunen make their likely NHL debuts in the next two NHL seasons... even if they only show up for a few games each, that'll be a big organizational win.

Tryamkin, Gaudette, and... Forsling? Does Forsling count, if he was willing to trade him for a depth defensemen within a year? It was a successful pick, but Canucks didn’t gain any benefit Unfortunetly.

Of course Forsling counts when the question is whether JB get draft in the mid-rounds or not.
