    Seeing Boston only has $14.3 million in cap space and also has to re-sign Heinen, Acciari, Carlo and Johansson, would anyone sign Charlie McAvoy to an offer sheet?

      I always prefer the approach of trading for the asset rather than overpaying and giving compensation.

      If you do an offer sheet. Cross that team off of ever trading with you in the future. Offer sheets don't work. 

      All they do is escalate salaries. There's a reason only one offer sheet has been accepted since 2007. 

      And no team has used an offer sheet in 6 years. 

       

      What is far more dangerous is a team can retaliate for trying to get one of the Canucks players.
