Been a pleasure being on this site for the last 12 years with you guys. See y'all on the other side.

Anyone know what happened to the stock market thread? Can’t seem to find it anywhere.

I like how US Congress basically confirmed UFO’s and (non human biologicals) aliens are real and everyone’s just like meh.

Who let Elon Musk buy twitter?

Oh, @Playoff Beered actually holds the same opinions as me on twitter btw. We both love it

After the OEL buyout I want management to go really hard after Brett Pesce and Ryan Graves.

Gary Bettman is the worst thing to ever happen to hockey and any self respecting hockey fan should be sick to their stomach seeing Vegas win already.

Across The SpiderVerse may just be one of the best Spiderman movies ever and that’s not a hyperbole.

Arturs Silovs is in fact HIM

People acting like we're always gonna be over the cap and won't make moves to get us under it.

Did the tankathon sim the other day and we won on my first try and I did it again today and we won it on my second try

Connor McDavid: 146 points (68 powerplay points)
Elias Pettersson: 96 points (24 powerplay points)
Do with that information as you will.

Perhaps, but I'm more poking fun at how people can cherry pick a perspective. If we were Oiler fans we'd be talking about how deadly McDavid is on the PP, but instead, we're talking about how he only gets PP points. If Petey had tons of PP points, I doubt you'd find fans claiming he wasn't a well-rounded player because of his PP points.
In fact, McDavid actually plays on the PK about as much as Petey and has pretty solid PK results as well. It doesn't logically follow that because a player has a large number of PP points, they must play poorly 5v5 or defensively.
-
Mc David scores 46% of his Pts on the PP. Edm has the #1 PP at 32.4%
Pettersson scores 25% of his Pts on the PP. Van has the #10 PP at 22.6%
I think it goes without saying, but the Oiler's won't be able rely on the PP as much as they did in the regular season, although the odds favour them facing a Kings team with a 75.8% Pk in the first round.
Pettersson's number's are just a result of his efficient defensive game in my opinion.

Officials in sports have way too much power.

Regardless of everything happening the most important thing right is Demko is back to being Demko.
-
Pettersson should be in Selke conversations this year but I’m not sure people are ready to have that conversation yet

If we do in fact move on from OEL in the summer then Vladislav Gavrikov needs to be priority number one. I feel like he’d be PERFECT on the second pair with Hronek.

an oel buy-out would have to be absolutely last resort I think. Myers with one year left after bonus is paid out is a heck of a lot easier to move. retention for 1 year would be better than dealing with oel’s buy out. even if there are no teams looking for a Myers on the back end, I think like ARZ would be enticed to help get to the cap floor then flip him at the TDL
-
@Canucks Curse in what world is ROR a 3rd C? We're also already above the cap for next season so we'd be in tough to get him even as 2nd C if we move Miller.
The rest of the depth D would be appealing though (either Soucy or Borgen from the Kraken would be great).
Re: OP, no thanks to buying out OEL, if only management would trade Myers at next TDL and move Boeser/ Garland/ Miller in offseason for picks.
-
Am I being a bit too optimistic if I say I think there could be something with this group next year if we add at least 2-3 defensemen capable of playing defense at the NHL level?
-
Some people really wanted to trade Kuzmenko lol

Some proposals you don't know if a pending FA will sign reasonably. A month back, we all knew we had to whittle down next season's total cap.
Signing AK & trading Bo is perfectly fine, would say at this point.
Be nice to further hack away another 5-7 mill from '23-24, & I'd prefer OEL is bought out too.

Anyone ever work with someone who claims to hate drama but whenever there is drama at the workplace, 90% of the time they’re at the center of it?
-
Anyone else getting a really weird feeling about these latest two objects being shot down? Like at least with the balloon we knew what it was but they’re being awfully cagey about the details of these two

@KristoffWixenschon & so Trudeau + friends can line their pockets with our money. Tbh, I’d rather have jets lol

I'd have to say it's much easier to become rich being a politician in the US.
Having inside knowledge of which companies are going to be handed big defense spending contracts seems much more lucrative than being paid for "charitable speaking engagements". But corruption is corruption, it's all gross.

Been a long time since officiating got me as heated as I was tonight

Bruce had this team go 32-15-10 after he got here last season. If my math is correct, that’s a .68 win percentage. Now that clip probably wasn’t sustainable over a full 82 games, but injuries and all that aside did anyone really expect us to fall off like this? I’m not sure what happened between the end of last season and now but my god.
