  1. Markstrom’s contract will be over before the expansion draft so we can leave him unprotected and keep Demko.
  2. And the thing is, why should we trust Bettman to not tell Daly to rearrange the cards before he comes out? If they want to gain fan trust back, if they ever had it, show the draw live. The fact they do it behind closed doors is enough reason to believe they draw the balls until they get the result they want. They obviously couldn’t give Chicago 1st so they gave them 3rd.
  3. Two New York teams and Chicago I mean, can you make it anymore obvious? Bowman not being able to stop smiling wasn’t a clear giveaway at all.

I've defended Ernst & Young for years, they are a $35 billion dollar firm after all, but this is horse$&!#.

That smile looked more like "We don't even need to rig this $&!#! Look how it rigs itself!"

I will never believe anything Bettman touches. why we are not allowed to see those lottery balls drop is such a farce

And how on earth did we see the top 3 before the lottery even started?

If you have ever been in a major riot, you would realize they SUCK!

They can ruin a very pleasant time in a hurry and can become dangerous and escalate to an explosive state very quickly.

They also are EMBARRASSING,in so many ways.

Leave your riots for video games thanks.

  6. I don’t think he can be Salo imo. Doesn’t have that bomb of a slap shot and is a bit of a smoother skater. We absolutely need to wait and see how he does in the NHL before coming to conclusions.
  7. No worse statement to make than to call a twenty year old a bust. Thing is, the only reason Juolevi hasn’t gotten a chance to play in the NHL is because of injuries. So my advice to everyone is wait until he has a season or two of NHL experience under his belt before making ridiculous statements like that.
  8. I just noticed a weird, and kind of “how is that possible?” trend on Juolevi’s point production. In each season since his u20 year in the Liiga, he’s hit at or better than a .72 ppg clip.

I doubt he makes it even if he appears ready in training camp. If only because they won't want to have 2 rookies on the LD side top 6. No point putting one in the press box.

@RetroCanuck. He still needs a fair bit of work needed to be done on his defensive game which isn’t good even by just AHL standards.  The good news is that skill can always be learned.  Another year with the Comets won’t be the worst thing for him.

@Jimmy McGill That would shut the “Juolevi is a bust” crowd up for the forseeable future.

  9. The thing is, he’s still 20 points clear of second place Brady Tkachuk who’s been heating up lately. So yes, he actually is still getting points. If Binnington was around Pettersson’s age and played more than 30 games then the voting would definitely be closer. Right now, it’s silly to even make a case for anyone else to win it.
  10. Toronto war room still isn’t over Greg Adams eliminating them in 1994. Only logical explanation for this bush league garbage.

We ought to hack the CBC broadcast during a Leafs game and put this on repeat

  11. Thinking outside the box a little here, would anyone put Pettersson on Horvat’s RW next year and sign a 2C like Duchene, Nelson, or Hayes?

@112 I wasn't going to reply to you originally, but than I saw you mentioning the same thing on another user's wall, so hey.... it's not going to happen... Just let it go, and remember, we got Petey at #5 ;)

I think we're pretty decent with our C depth, and now with Pearson looking back in form, maybe Leivo, Jake progressing, etc. we've got lots of middle 6 Fs to go around. Petey needs a LW, thats really the only hole.

Assuming of course we have a d group that can actually help move the puck next year so the Fs can actually spend more time on actual offence. I wonder if a guy like Dzingle or Panik is a fit there? Panarin at 10 mil per worries me.

More than anything we need d upgrades imo.

Dzingel would be a good fit. Panarin is a legit 1st line LW so I’d be ok with paying him what he wants. I’d love Karlsson but I really don’t like how often he’s been injured lately.

  12. Playoff results don’t determine regular season awards. And the answer is no. Despite dropping off in points since January 1st Pettersson still leads all rookies in points even with playing less games. Calder debates right now are silly and borderline pointless.
  13. I watched pretty much every game that I could when I wasn’t working and I can say confidently that Schenn is miles better than Gudbranson was here. No Schenn isn’t a point producer, but the overall defensive play with Schenn here has vastly improved since Gudbranson was traded. This is coming from someone who defended Gudbranson for the longest time before finally coming to terms with the fact that he simply wasn’t what he was supposed to be. I like Pearson and I too wonder why he wasn’t that great in Pittsburgh. However, we all need to keep in mind that he’s only 26 years old and is just two years removed from scoring 24 goals, so who knows. Maybe getting a good amount of top six minutes with Horvat is just what he needs.
  14. Bichette too. If they both aren’t on the team by May then something isn’t right.
  15. If people are still wondering why Leafs fans are so hated here’s a reminder :picard:

That's satire, not necessarily good satire. If you think that's real you're gullible af. Hughes isn't even Canadian.

  16. I feel like this is the first I’ve heard about this production. 52 goals in 53 games???? What would it take to get another first and draft Caufield?
  17. Thinking about the clip in the final trailer with Thor floating in the air and looking at Stormbreaker weirdly, is he gonna get a redo in Wakanda?
  18. Over the last few years I’ve realized arguing with Trump supporters/defenders is a complete waste of time. Doesn’t matter what he does he does no wrong in their eyes.
