As you all know I’m one of the more overly optimistic/try to remain positive kind of fans, but how Boudreau has been treated lately has really tested me. Now, unless something catastrophic happens nothing will stop me from being a fan, but this year has been really disheartening.

JT Miller: *breathes*
Vancouver:

I’m really not sure what it would take for it to happen, but just think about having Pettersson and Bedard as our center core for the next 10-15 years…
-
Elias Pettersson. That is all.
-
How many times recently have we had a really good road trip, and then come back home and follow it up with performances that look like we forget how to play hockey? If I’m Rutherford/Allvin I’ve seen what I’ve needed to see and I start blowing this up before the holidays.

Garland and Rathbone to Nashville for Dante Fabbro who says no?

@Ghostsof1915 I suspect the sale of the team may impact that, even if it hasn't closed yet.
-
Moving out Boeser, Garland, LTIR’ing or trading Poolman, and the cap going up 4m, giving us around an 18m in cap space is the way I think. Bonus points if we can somehow get someone to take OEL’s contract.
-
Dylan Guenther and an extra $12m in cap would sure be nice right about now.
-
Very bold of people calling for us to tank for Bedard to assume Bettman would actually allow us to get him without him Lindros-ing his way here lol.
-
This right here folks is why advanced stats should not be taken seriously

I don't need to pay JFresh $13.50 a month on his bogus monthly memberships to find out that Petey is most similar to Nick Schmaltz. I can figure it out on my own with my own eyes that that comparison is bogus and proves what a fraud JFresh is. I feel sorry for the people who actually give this guy their hard earned money.

The more I think about getting Mikheyev, the more I absolutely love bringing him in. I think he’s gonna open things up A LOT. Move Myers, Dickinson, Poolman, Dermott out for that extra cap space to use for a couple of dmen say, Bear and Subban?
Mikheyev - Miller - Boeser
Kuzmenko - Pettersson - Podkolzin
Pearson - Horvat - Garland
Joshua - Lazar - Lockwood
Hughes - Bear
OEL - Subban
Rathbone - Schenn
Demko
Martin
That team should challenge for a wild card/division spot fairly easily imo.

Miller to New Jersey for Zacha, Foote, Muhkhamadullin, 2023 1st unprotected who says no?

@BureBurritoI’d be pretty ok with that too
-
The Miller thread is starting to remind me of those Luongo threads years ago two summers before he was actually traded.
-
Nicolas Roy should be our #1 target once free agency opens imho. Young, big, right shot center fits our need for a shut down 3C perfectly.

I don't know Roy's contract situation (his QO and how that fits Vegas' cap) but one guy I'd look seriously at is Nick Paul. Seems like he'd come in at a lower AAV than a guy like Roy but provide similar value on-ice.
I keep hearing Manson's name being brought up, but like everyone else I just watched the Avs sweep the Coil, and witnessed Manson get absolutely exposed defensively throughout that series which makes me re-think that idea.
-
Yeah we gotta find the Toews equivalent for Hughes like yesterday.
-
Idk what Rutherford/Allvin need to do to get us in the playoffs next year but they gotta do it.

@AV. Yet we would’ve been an easy playoff team if we hired Boudreau even two weeks earlier…
-
I think they need to do exactly what WhatshisJimmer said he would do,
Find players that are ready to break out and become stars
deals like the Granlund deal,
but with a better return , and better development
to Bennings credit, he did win that trade
Granlund is playing better than Shinkaruk in the K
but need to land better players

How we should look going into the offseason:
xxxx - Pettersson - Garland
Höglander - Miller - xxxx
xxxx - Horvat - Podkolzin
Dickinson - Lammikko - Lockwood
Chiasson
Hughes - xxxx
OEL - xxxx
Rathbone - Schenn
Dermott/Burroughs/Hunt
Demko
Martin
I like the idea of rolling Petey, Miller, Horvat as the top 3 centers so it’s just a matter of if JR/PA can work around the cap and fill the holes. Boeser is probably still the odd man out.

This actually looks pretty good.
This would be my off-season plan. It would be more around the works of building the team around Petey, Podz, Demko, and Hughes so when they hit their primes a few years down the road, we will be ready to go. Hard re-tool. Not so much for trying to be a Playoff team next year, but if we do make the Playoffs it will be a bonus.
Garland - Pettersson - Podkolzin
Höglander - Horvat - xxxx
xxxx - xxxx - xxxx
Chiasson - Lammikko - Lockwood
Highmore
Hughes - xxxx
OEL - xxxx

Dermott/Burroughs/Schenn

What we should focus on?
- Saving our D from top to bottom
- Third line
- Acquiring a young RD, like Schneider or young guy with upside to play with Petey like Lysell
Off-Season Decisions:
- Miller for Schneider++, Lysell++, something like that. If we can't maximize our return just re-sign him
- Boeser move out. Zacha was rumored, who I am not high on, NJ would def have to add. Interested to see what type of interest there is for him around the league.
- Myers, have to find a better fit for OEL
- Pearson, love this guy, never loses a puck battle, do we sell high or keep.
- Dickinson, see if we can ship him out.
- Poolman move out that money
-
Could’ve done a liiiiiiittle more today but I’ll take a couple extra picks and cap space.
-
It’s cute seeing people think they’re gonna get Boeser for anything less than a package including a 1st and/or a top prospect.

Brocks got 18 even strength points this entire season. 8 count em 8 goals from our elite sniper getting all the cush ice time.
Connor Garland 29 even strength points 13 goals.
Bo Horvat 20 even strength goals
Tanner Pearson 11 even strength goals.
Pod 10 even strength goals
Hoglander 8 even strength goals
Brocks a floater who plays in the soft ice never challenges anyone for a puck, spins off checks he's a glorified PP specialist who quite frankly any number of the guys listed above deserve his minutes. Brocks been having his tires pumped for years. I would be shocked if a team gave up a 1st + for him.
