  1. Meanwhile, new WADA standards for testing came into affect in Vancouver June 1. It'll be interesting to see who gets burned here. Main eventer Ali Bagautinov may get pulled for his suspension in Russia, which commissions in the US have been ignoring but Vancouver won't have that option under the new regulations, it doesn't look like. No passes for TRT either. http://www.cscd.gov.bc.ca/bcathleticcommission/legislation_and_regulations.htm "the BCAC will not grant a TUE for the use of testosterone." http://www.cscd.gov.bc.ca/bcathleticcommission/docs/announcements/BCAC_Anti_Doping_Policy1.5.pdf
  2. Meanwhile, something fishy in New Mexico? Amasinger, who immediately after the bout filed an appeal of its result, claimed that drug tests were not performed on fighters from New Mexico or the famed Greg Jackson-Mike Winkeljohn camp in Albuquerque, N.M., where the card took place, and informed the UFC. “Ross was drug tested before the fight, which is perfectly normal,” he told MMAjunkie. “That’s absolutely fine, and all this stuff is supposed to be random. But when Ross came back from the drug test, he said to me, ‘I’ve seen the list; none of the Jackson guys are on the drug test list, or the New Mexican guys who are fighting on the card.’ And so I went and checked and that was the case. “I made a note to (UFC site coordinator) Burt Watson and I said, ‘I want to let you know that I’m feeling uncomfortable about that.’” http://mmajunkie.com/2014/06/pearson-teammate-amasinger-no-drug-tests-for-jackson-fighters-no-win-bonus
  3. UFC doping news: Well it looks like the Belfort vs Sonnen fight is off: Chael Sonnen fails random drug test LAS VEGAS -- UFC light heavyweight Chael Sonnen has failed a random drug test and will not fight Vitor Belfort at UFC 175 on July 5. The Nevada State Athletic Commission randomly tested Sonnen last month while he was in Las Vegas to attend a UFC news conference. Results confirmed the presence of two illegal substances, anastrozole and clomiphene. http://espn.go.com/mma/story/_/id/11062115/chael-sonnen-fails-random-drug-test-ufc-175-bout Remember, this fight came about when Wand literally ran from the 'test.'
  4. Not necessarily, UFC cards don't really sell anywhere anymore. Diluted product isn't fooling anyone. They'll be playing the Agrodome soon.
  5. UFC is dying, they expanded to fast and watered down the product severely. It's just not the same product it ws five years ago. They're getting exactly what they deserve.
  6. Well, that was certainly disappointing, if not altogether unexpected.
  7. He's been surprisingly ineffective throughout the playoffs, at least to me.
  8. By surprise. It changed direction a few feet in front of him. Human reflexes aren't that fast.
