  1. Then he would have been traded for more than a 2nd. I feel like desiboy is one "running with scissors" incident away from no longer being with us.
  2. Not by Calgary or they would have asked for more than a 2nd. But Sven wanted out. Is he more promising than Vey, who a 2nd was a fair price for? Hell yes. Much more.
  3. I've always said last draft would have some stars, there just wasn't going to be the #1 overall shoe-in like in some years.
  4. Someone doesn't watch Hitmen games...
  5. You think it's called "St Albert". Forgive me if I question your fact checking abilities
  6. We all know that Dal Colle just benefits from playing with Cassel anyways Go Jake
  7. CDC freaked out about something they knew nothing about? Colour me surprised. Most of the people freaking out didn't even know what the 99 Award was before they were told. Their panic wasn't worth writing home about.
  8. He doesn't have much choice in the matter. His coach won't play him in a primary offensive position so he HAS to play defense.
  9. I'm sure he'll get some call up games, but he would benefit from becoming a real good player in the A before making the jump. CDCers seem to think that players just need to tread water in a new league before they "graduate" to the next. Nothing could be further from the truth. Players need to make the jump, adjust and then excel and regain confidence before they move up.
  10. First off, Jake spent all summer rehabbing his shoulder. Second, on a ton of HItmen goals, you see Jake celebrating with his teammates. He's racking up pluses at an insane rate, even if he isn't getting an assist on all those plays. A big reason for this is because he seems to have been tasked with playing point on the PP and stays extremely high after his team enters the zone. His defensive play is getting surprisingly good surprisingly quickly as a result and it allows Tambellini et al to get deep in the offensive zone without fear of being caught the other way. Since the Hitmen have 30 GF and 1 GA in their last 4 games, clearly it's working. So how is Jake doing with this more defensive deployment? Check out the points/60 on the right side of this CHLstats screenshot: That's just ridiculous.
  11. McNally was always the better d prospect. He just fell out of view because he didn't play last year. With the season that he's had after such a long break, he's proved that again.
  12. Sounds more like a hostage situation than a marriage
  13. Corsi = possession, especially on the team level given the massive sample size. Saying otherwise is ignorance on the order of "Global warming is just a theory"
  14. There's a reason clubs like the Tigers, Rockets and Winterhawks have legacies of building talent. There's also a reason the Hitmen is not one of those clubs....
  15. I'm sure your arrogance is convincing to him.
  16. Given how much Maine blows this year, I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to split after this season. Hutton can always complete his studies while playing elsewhere.
  17. I've always preferred the name NASCAR drivers use for their sports' equivalent of puck bunnies: Pit Lizards
  18. Hockey Canada seems like more of a boys club than the NHLOA. Their coach and player picks seem bewildering at times and while Canada has a great team this year, but I'm really wondering why they hell they put Groulx in charge of them. He never struck me as the right choice but after watching the WJC, I can safely say his usage of the lines is pretty amateur. He's just got a team that just wins all match ups to cover him but if he had to play the match up game against a comparable team I would bet he'd lose. Makes me wonder if he's equally clueless with systems and in the locker room as well.
  19. Those were my highlights from this game too! I love how trying to play physical against Jake just means instant karma. A sign of things to come.
  20. I think Jake is just used to playing with no other skilled forwards and a good dman in Sanheim. He's positioned perfectly to take advantage of rebounds after a Sanheim slapper. Instead he's not in place to get in on the cycle. His current play doesn't compliment the team style too well but I would actually like to see Canada play the transition game a bit more. You can see they never think to spring Jake and look to make a bunch of tight passes rather than a long lead pass. A lot more chances could be generated by looking for those long outlets without risking dangerous turnovers. I also see Reinhart and Petan's lines just cycling WAY too much between chances. McDavid doesn't do this to nearly the same degree, and you see him trying to power his way into the middle of the ice and turn it over because he gets no support doing this. Jake has the same problem and I think it made him look a lot more out of place than he really was. Long story short, I'm glad McDavid and Jake are together now
  21. Maybe he'd be less of a bigot too because who the hell grows up these days hating French Canadians? Never was sad to see his career ended.
  22. He and Shinky seem to have taken less time than Jensen to find their game in the pros. Although perhaps Chicago just being an absolute shitshow could have been the case since Jensen looks pretty damn good now.
  23. Well he can't. He looks completely out of place. I think Ritchie will actually look pretty decent with Gauthier and Crouse. They all play a very simple, physical game.
