    Nothing made me happier than when Lindros being a huge francophobic douche ended up benefitting the Nordiques and eventually the Avs. Well except for that fateful day when Scott Stevens happened to him.

    Olli needed to take a step and you could tell the OHL was not going to be challenging enough for him. Sending him to TPS is another very smart Benning move that I expect took a ton of work behind the scenes.

    That is impressive. Not Elias Pettersson's SHL numbers impressive but arguably as good as Kole Lind's 1.8 PPG in the WHL if NHLe counts for anything.

    Any words how many points are on the power play? He was extremely good last year 5 on 5 which rocketed his SEAL adjusted scoring upwards.

    You're correct. SHL, Allsvenskan and many other European leagues don't have second assists which is part of the reason for lower PPG. Also the SHL is arguably the best league outside the NHL so it's a hell of a transition for a kid to make the jump and produce at that level (although Petterson was well equipped playing against men in Allsvenskan, many of which have been in the SHL).

    I know you're joking but it's worth noting that Will Nylander was 0.2PPG in his draft year in the SHL. Anything over 0.5 PPG in the SHL is really good for an D+1 player.

    I was going to say, he has great lateral movement. That's a skill to open space that surprisingly few players have and is great to see is a smaller guy. He's also a hell of a puck hound. He could use some coaching on the little things to win puck battles but he forechecks and backchecks like crazy. Coach must love him.

    Not surprised. Glass was overrated af. Love that Lind and Gadjovich played on the same line.

    Some folks on CDC don't understand that making space for a young guy who proved himself isn't the same as forfeiting all our depth at that position. Same guys who complain about depth while ignoring we regularly lead the league in injuries. Can't make them happy.

    Wow, I completely did not notice until now that Virtanen stopped scoring once he was moved to RW. Pretty clear that Green moved him off the LW so he could focus on developing his playmaking and cycle game when moving right to left.

    Same I've been saying about the tankers who want to trade Tanev. Destroying the team for a slightly increased chance at draft picks doesn't sound like a decent fan to me.

    He actually spent 19 games on loan to Timra IK. So not just same league but same club. He also got a few games last year and even more this year in the SHL. I imagine our scouts have seen more of him than most.

    Very few but it has more to do with being on an Allsvenskan club that loans a player as a call up to the SHL. Almost universally those players don't do very will but if they are able to be even slightly competitive it's viewed as a big deal. Thus the hype over Nylander despite him scoring at about .25 ppg I'm the SHL.

    Bo had perfectly good skating in his draft year. That complaint was idiotic from the day it was uttered prior to the draft.

    I never predicted Vilardi would drop but I'm happy to see a number of clubs having the sense to not take him. Was not high on him or a number of the OHL forwards that were being highly rated.

    Yes, Allsvenskan (the tier below the SHL). Nylander played a bit in the SHL but both his and Pastrnak's scoring were a ways off of Petterson's.
