Don't have too much of an issue with people who use "we".  I do all the time and I have no tangible stake in any of the sports teams I cheer for.

My issue is those that say "we" when their team wins and say "they" when their team loses.  Again, probably guilty of this myself on a few occasions but association with a team should be consistent.

Yep. I've done it with United to. But it was at a time when the team that was suiting up was not a united caliber team, moyes era. For LvG I was doubtful after the World Cup showing but I had hope. He had big signings and everything. But it don't work out. Now I wait till we are competent again.

Wasn't that Marner? It was pretty much on par with Hickey's penalty just a few minutes prior, but yeah that was pretty soft on Marner. In the NHL that's likely not a penalty, just a turnover.

You might be right but its IIHF rules

    Ok

    You brought Bertuzzi up

Which statement, the Virtanens took a dirty penalty, I don't even know how you can say that was ok, maybe if it was Marchand I would agree, and ask me for a point

I was correct when i said the penalty was dirty, it was a dirty penalty punching someone in the back of the head with no real reason, so shove that on your face

Sure keep quoting me, come off as a fool as you always have

Virt sure played like a "meatstick" ha-ha, when he couldn't produce offensively

This happeneds in all scrums in the NHL, and Virtanen was being held by a swedish player as well. The penalty wasn't the most gentleman action but I'd rather have this than the dive by the Swedish player on the Chartier high stick and the Konecny dive behind the swedish net.

  4. Virt has been in the top half of Canadian forwads 5v5 for me IMO

Konecny has been the best player.

Crouse Stephens Virtanen Barzal Quenneville have been goodish

    Gautier was OK

    Point Beauvillier Chartier was meh

    Marner Strome Perlini were BAAAAADDDDD

Yeah, I don't know if it was the Canadian fans calling for a shot or what but he frustrated me on that PP.

He tries to put so much into that shot but he takes so much time. Just go low for the pads and get a rebound.

To perlini should be a new way to describe a magical disappearing act for a highly touted prospect.

He sure perlini'd that shift didn't he

Maybe for Strome it should be being a puck hog,

Don't be a Strome out there

@ScanBC: Mag 4.8 #Earthquake near Seattle. Felt all over Metro Vancouver just a few min ago. 911 being overflowed with callers asking about quake.

    God, some people are stupid...

My teacher told me it happened when a quake happened in Seattle years ago too

Yeah, it may keep Van Gaal hanging in there, but it was good to see utd attack again...

LVG is a dead man walking (I hope). We will not win the league and are in serious danger of losing out on C/L next season.

Totally agree that we need a PROVEN goalscorer first of all. A C/B of proper quality is also a must, and then a speedy winger would be great. Time will tell, but it was a far better showing than the crap of late....

I agree, we really don't need a fullback with Luke Shaw and Darmian, but someone to play leftback would be nice when Shaw is out. The real conundrum IMO is Rooney, is he a striker, should he play as the man behind Martial? I would love to see Martial up top, Memphis to the left and a goal scoring winger to the right (Bale=Dream). Rooney behind them. The schmidfield and Smalling and Jones playing as the center back pair. Darmian at rightback, Blind at leftback.

Utd played a really good game today, but it is still evident we need a proven goal scorer...

But what about Van Gaal? There comes a time in a managers career where he has just lost the players and LVG has done that. This was a bad result IMO because I fear that the board may decide to keep him around and that would be a real poor show of football knowledge.

To finish any where close to second we need a striker, a fullback, a competent right winger, a centerback and those are all first team quality requirements. If we want to finish Top 4 we need a new manager and we could maybe take a shot with a signing like Mané.

I think for Pep its either City or United, with City looking the more likely right now. If I were Chelsea I would go hard after Simeone, gets his team to play brilliant football and can motivate his players. As a United fan it saddens me that next year Chelsea could have Simeone, City have Pep, Liverpool have Klopp, Arsenal have Wenger and us have Giggs...

I want Giggs to go to another club before coming back to United, he could use the experience. One thing for sure is that Giggs has a plan unlike LvG, I rememeber when he was player-coach, he benched Mata and I can see why. The guy has no strength and needs to have other players around him making space like Oscar at Chelsea.

Mourinho out, Hiddink his replacement according to some sources.

    Confirmed, it's 2007-2008 again.

I wonder if Chelsea will go hard after Pep, or perhaps try to poach Simeone/Conte/Pochetino in the summer.

They'll have to be in the running for Pep. I also don't get why there are rumours of Hazard leaving. Any possibly of his in Spain?

Circumstances had me miss all but one of the last 4 games, but that's good to hear after the atrocious first half of the season. Early on I had no confidence in either the Oline or 4th quarter play.

In great position for a Wild Card spot with hopefully at least 2 wins out of the remaining 3 games.

I really hope they beat the Cards. Last years interception that bounced off Kearses hand is still fresh in my head. I really think I like them better as a team than last year with the performances when it matters.

He's going to need to step up even more with both Lynch and Rawls unable to provide a running game. Losing Rawls hurts.

Im kinda surprised Wilson has had any time in the pocket. The Oline has been great the last little while.

Nice... hope Memphis will find his feet next season, then it could be dynamite... Young out though. Can't stand his diving...:)

One half through and Memphis and Fellaini have been the only ones actually doing any work IMO. Mata has been a real dissapointnt at CAM  and I thought he would excel there since that's where he wanted to play.

..God dammit, man do I ever miss him. Utd been complete crap ever since he left and haven't been able to transition him walking away. Fml. Why couldn't he manage forever... :(

Aside from the defense it wasn't a half bad side. I'd love to have SAF manage our side. Could you imagine hime working the counter attack with Martial and Rooney, and SAF never had a good midfield for the longest time.

Totally agree. The biggest problem is the style of play. The way LVG operates did not really fit the players at Old Trafford. A bit like fitting a square into hole. The purchase of De Maria was also questionable at best.

After spending a huge amount of money during the summer, you would have though they found the way, but so far it is just boring and uninspired...

There is no doubt that Martial was a rabbit out of the hat, but other than that (and Shaw), its been poor, with too much emphasis on defending. (De Gea and Smalling also having good seasons...).

    Wish list:

In - a new star C/B maybe Stones, a quick winger and another goal scorer. And biggest of all possibly a new goal keeper if De Gea goes to RM.

Out - Fellaini. Mata, Rojo, Young, Valencia and maybe even Rooney and Carrick

And finally Herrera may go for a new playmaking midfielder, if LVG continues to leave him out. He obviously doesn't see him as the playmaker the fans does.

Yeah completely agree, but I think I am being a bit of sentimental cuz I wouldn't mind keeping Rooney.

My wishlist: Stones/Marquinhis, Backup RB, Harry Kane and a player like Griezmann.

Edit: Before you guys tell me, I can dream and wish for the perfect summer. d

I agree with the sqaud being average but almost the entire squad since Fergies last season needed to be turned over. I was honestly shocked we won the title in Fergies last year because that squad was dire. LvG hasnt spent the money hes been given wisely but he brought in some good players.

IMO I think we still need at least £200-250M invested into the team.

I don't know how possible it was for Van Gaal  to fix this mess but he needed to do a much better job with his lists. The overpaying I can't really criticize him for because Ed buys the players. There have been quite a few missed calls as a coach. The style of football. The use of Rooney, Herrera, Darmian, and Fellaini.

At this point I don't know what can be done. We need a new CB, but the first decision needs to be how do United wasnt to play football. You buy players that fit the formation, not the other way around, look at Di Maria last year and the attack this year in general. If we play a more attacking style, a 4-2-3-1 like Chelsea/Madrid, a new right forward/midfielder is needed. Mata doesn't prefer to play there and Rooney isn't the ideal player in any position any more. Someone like Griezman or Auba is a dream but it could happen.

to from in, out, in, out, in, and finally out of UCL is why i love football. Sadly we were on the wrong side of the result. Carlo saying he would consider Utd.

LVG out or give him time? I say change him in the summer.

This was one result not on him, but all the bad calls and teams he's played over the last three months in the Prem, it's a surprise were Top4

Utd so fracking boring. Get LVG the hell out of here smh. The log channel is more exciting ffs.

Don't know what was worse to watch yesterday, Utd passing around for an hour or the Canucks trying to get out of their own zone. I sort of had the Bundesliga upset on instead of United and it was better football. Borussia Mönchengladbach played a great game and it was nice to see Ribery suit up.
