  1. Just so people know… this is the Canucks we are talking about. They won’t lose a bunch more and force a rebuild that could actually turn into something. That would be clarity and an identifiable plan. They will win 3 of their 4 next games, just enough that management does nothing. They will then miss the playoffs by 15 points and not get a top 10 pick. We will then repeat this process…
  2. To unite three Hughes brothers as a huge marketing play and get an already established high end top pairing D? Ya, we could.
  3. If the team is in a tear down… those guys need to be moved too. The assets from them are what would rebuild the team and we won’t be winning while they are still under club control. So they will just be gone to teams where they have a chance de to win. It is the Podkolzin age guys that would be the new core to try to create a contending window in 3-5 years.
  4. They can’t make it happen “now” … I was commenting on the guy saying don’t blow it up… just find D to fix it. There isn’t a magic way to do that. If you look at my posts for a long time I was one of few voices saying to trade Miller and extending him was a bad idea because the team wasn’t ready to contend in his prime age window.
  5. Pump and dump Hughes I take Nemec, a 2023 1st, and Holtz… we will take whatever bad short term money coming back that would make it work.
  6. Only if we lose most of them. Lots of teams have a 1 of 4 stretch during a season and most don’t blink an eye at it. Doing it to start the season makes it look a lot worse than it is. Teams going 4-1 is also not unusual at all so we could easily do that still. The 20 game mark is blow it all up territory if the team isn’t even .500 Teams with playoff hopes will have injuries by then and some of our players might look attractive. If it comes to that they also need to fire Boudreau early because they also have to see that Yeo is terrible as an interim so they don’t hire him full time.
  7. Yep… the team has never had a 1st overall pick that is some business the finish.
  8. It needs two top 4 RD to be just a playoff calibre team and not even a contender. You can’t magically make those happen with no prospects in the pipeline, no cap space, and no spare high end players to trade. Miller was the trade piece to get one and that didn’t happen.
  9. On the plus side… we almost beat the worst team in the league! If you count San Jose as worse because they have played more games we aren’t last even though they have won a game (unlike us).
  10. Why couldn’t we draft a few guys like this that can actually play and scare people. Instead we get a series of guys from Hordichuk to Gudbranson who talked a good game but really didn’t want to play that role. He manhandled Kassian with ease… just a rookie, wait until he gets his grown man strength.
  11. .. because our player have less chance of getting injured while golfing? I guess you are able to really see the sunny side of things, good on you!
  12. JR is in attendance... maybe it is so he can be there when they are loading the bus after the game. "Hey Brock, not so fast... your plane ticket was one-way, welcome home. Someone is going to have to drive your dog back."
  13. … and why aren’t you assuming Stillman is the last source? He could have texted what a shit show the dressing room is to a former team mate who then passed it on to a media person because they have no allegiance to the Canucks. Or Dickenson could have made a comment in private in the dressing room to a new team mate about how he was glad to be out of the drama that someone else leaked. Random speculation throwing players under the bus is kind of silly…. Especially when we don’t even know the issue is even true.
  14. You did read the actual post right? It doesn’t appear so. It has nothing to do with how the season might play out in the future or fan expectations and is referencing the meltdowns that have already happened in reality the first four games with a record for blown multi goal leads. No need to go off on random rant or who you think are “real” fans or not. Even the players are calling those games dogshit so no need to play white knight. Recognizing bad games isn’t panicking.
  15. God damn it…. Now I have to go to bed with that song in my head. You sir, are evil.
  16. Ego - says the guy who has self appointed himself as spokesman for the rest of the world and claims to be able to literally read minds…
  17. Don’t worry little buddy! We could reel off four wins in a row and be right back in the mix for a wildcard spot! No need to fall apart for a few weeks still. :D
  18. Sorry that math is hard for you man. I never wondered about your lack of understanding… it has been pretty clear. Don’t you get tired of yelling and screaming, being abusive about stuff you are always wrong about? Go take a walk or something to find some joy. Some folks actually want the team to improve and actually win a Cup. Accepting when it starts to be looking at how to actually make the team better in the future when a season’s playoff and Cup hopes are very slim is the opposite of what you yell about. It is being positive and discussing how that could look. Many folks get that, you don’t. Like I said… you can just scroll by and not spend your time being abusive and name calling if someone literally posting the factual playoff odds makes you too sad. The math starts mattering at the 20 game mark… so the nonsense you keep posting about where we are in less than 10 games played is just more lack of awareness of how the odds work.
  19. I shit you not… this was the result that came up when I ran this for a gag just to post us getting the top pick and getting a Canucks fan in Bedard. This is absolutely how it would pan out. Not only would we drop as far as possible… but Edmonton gets another 1st overall.
  20. His radio hits were actually stunningly good. Lots of ex players like Bieksa, Kesler, etc only talk about things from a player perspective and don’t really seem to have a full grasp outside that. Hansen really had in depth takes about the salary cap, systems, constructing a roster, etc. I would take on Hansen in a front office role in a heartbeat.
