  1. Deb, of course the Bruins had one available. Having Raymond dragged off the ice on his feet was a major fail of the Canucks medical staff. It's actually inexcusable. Even more inexcusable was that Kesler was one of the players carrying/assisting Raymond off the ice with his torn labrum.
  2. I was in TD Gardens for that game. Had a perfect view of the Raymond play as it happened just to my right. Even after being there for games 3 and 4 and seeing all kinds of fan abuse I was amazed at the fan behavior on that play. A capacity crowd, minus the 7-9% our guys had in the building. All yelling "flopper, flopper, flopper" to a kid lying there with a broken back. Disgusting. I'll never forget the fat putz with bad breath beside me who took the opportunity to ask me "How come your team's such a bunch of wussies?" He actually used another word but auto mod will block it, just use your imagination. All I could think to say to him in a pinch was "Must be the 5 Americans on the team". On another note, the one thing about the NHL that drives me nuts is when there a big CLEAN open ice hit. Like Orpik on Eriksson. The hitter has his elbows in and his feet on the ice and just catches someone shoulder to shoulder, nowhere near the boards. Then of course the hitter is accosted by everyone on the opposing team and is expected to fight someone 30 pounds heavier than him. Like many years ago when Peca caught Selanne coming across center. Not Peca's fault at all. If the guy who got hit can't take a hit then his teammates should go have a word with him. It's embarrassing.
  3. With Madela's passing it's important to also remember those who's lives were taken in the struggle. A gem from Peter Gabriel.

  10. ANTHOPOULOS SAYS GIBBONS WILL BE BACK AS JAYS MANAGER The Toronto Blue Jays have promised changes for next season after an underachieving 2013 campaign. However, according to general manager Alex Anthopoulos, one change that will not be made is manager John Gibbons who will return for the 2014 season. Gibbons was hired during the off-season to replace former manager John Farrell, who left the Jays for the same job with the Boston Red Sox. The 51-year-old is in his second stint with the Blue Jays, having previously managed the team from 2004-2008 when he was fired mid-season. Despite the fact the Jays bolstered their roster with high-profile trades during the off-season, the team finds itself last in the American League East, 18 games behind the Red Sox for top spot. Gibbons has a career managerial record of 364-378. *********************************************** Bad move. I think Anthopoulos may be singing his own walking papers.
