I was in TD Gardens for that game. Had a perfect view of the Raymond play as it happened just to my right. Even after being there for games 3 and 4 and seeing all kinds of fan abuse I was amazed at the fan behavior on that play. A capacity crowd, minus the 7-9% our guys had in the building. All yelling "flopper, flopper, flopper" to a kid lying there with a broken back. Disgusting.
I'll never forget the fat putz with bad breath beside me who took the opportunity to ask me "How come your team's such a bunch of wussies?" He actually used another word but auto mod will block it, just use your imagination. All I could think to say to him in a pinch was "Must be the 5 Americans on the team".
On another note, the one thing about the NHL that drives me nuts is when there a big CLEAN open ice hit. Like Orpik on Eriksson. The hitter has his elbows in and his feet on the ice and just catches someone shoulder to shoulder, nowhere near the boards. Then of course the hitter is accosted by everyone on the opposing team and is expected to fight someone 30 pounds heavier than him.
Like many years ago when Peca caught Selanne coming across center. Not Peca's fault at all.
If the guy who got hit can't take a hit then his teammates should go have a word with him.
It's embarrassing.
