  1. Shoot, I should have tried out for the team as a walk-on. I could have fulfilled my NHL career fantasy.
  2. Also, along with TG, Canucks OT record is what sunk us. Too many greedy plays during the season by our star players in OT that led to turnovers and odd man rushes while guys were gassed. To think we have 11 OT losses TO Dallas' 6 is mind blowing. Canucks would probably have fared better had they played for the tie and went to shootout with demko in net and having Petey, Horvat, Miller and Boeser shooting.
  3. With a win tonight, this season is far from done. We saw in this past week, NJ beat Vegas, OTT beat us , and yesterday Seattle beating Col. I don't think there is such a thing as an "easy schedule" this time of year. Eliminated teams have players playing for pride and jobs next year. The young stars on those team dont have the pressure and are going out and just playing hockey. The teams that are locks for the playoffs may not be interested in a slug fest and risking injury heading into the playoffs. Canucks just have to worry about themselves and keep winning. A 5-0 to end the season will surely put them in the playoffs.
  4. I'm just refuting your point that the Canucks have crapped the bed VS bottom half of the league in comparison to other teams. I don't know why but you had also brought TG into the mix to make is seem like BB is doing the same or worse against bad teams when the results say otherwise. Stats show under a BB coached team, they are on par with the average of the league in respect to playing lower level teams. That being said, I have no idea where you got the 14-10-4 record. You were wrong about the eliminated teams record so I'm hesitant to do additional work on this current stat. What I do know is Bruce is 30-13-9. Thats pretty damn good.
  5. I think a 30-13-9 record overall is consistently good. As I've said previously, I have no idea where he got his stats. BB's record against the bottom half of the league equates to .750 record That's 15 wins out of 20. TG was more like 5.5 out of 12 which is 0.46 winning percentage. If you extrapolate BB's percentage to cover the 12 games under TG, that would mean they blew 8 games out of 32 which puts them in line with the average playoff team. That means they would comfortably be in a playoff spot currently. The underpeformance under TG cost the team 7 pts more than what BB's team would have projected. Everything we have seen under BB indicates that this is a top 10 team. @wai_lai416tried to undermine it by bringing up a stat which is seemingly false.
  6. I heard Shorty say numerous times yesterday "Petan fails to clear the puck" The guy is a poor man's Reid Boucher.
  7. I think 2 goals in 10 shots gave them false confidence. The followup shifts were still good effort but they lost that feeling of desperation. It looked like they were coached to continue play hard and not let up rather than feeling that desperation all throughout 60 min.
  8. Wait a sec... Where did you get your numbers? I have the Canucks taking 30 out of 40 pts against eliminated teams under BB. That would be like 15 wins out of 20 or .750 win percentage. Even then we're pissed about blown games. TG got 11 out of 24 pts which is like 5.5 out of 12 or .46 winning percentage. (TG actually has a losing record against bottom feeders...) While we critisize BB, if we extrapolate BB's .750 over the 12 games TG coached the bottom feeders, we'd actually have 3.5 more wins or 7 pts. That would mean a spot in the playoffs (just by having TG beating the bottom feeders at BB's rate) Once we add in BB's overall record (including playoff teams) its not even close. We'd be a lock for the playoffs. So by my calculation, BB would have lost 16 pts (or 8 games to bottom feeders this year) had he coached the entire season This includes the following teams Det, Chi, Ana, Buffalo, Ottawa, Seattle, Mtl, Philly, Columbus, SJ, NJ, NYI, Ariz. That puts us right at even with LA, Dallas and Nash.
  9. Yeah bringing TG into this conversation didn't make sense. Everything about this team is superior post Green. The hole dug by TG and Co was so big that it would have taken a miracle to make the playoffs and the fact we are still talking about playoffs makes me want to give BB extra kudos.
  10. I'm with you. I knew tonight we would need to find a way to score a greasy goal and we didn't. We had to get shots on net and go hard after the rebound in the paint but we tried to pick corners and missed the net all together. Defensively we were all over the place as well. So many turnovers when we had to get the puck out etc. Not sure what was up with the guys tonight. They were trying hard and effort level was good but they were discombobulated
  11. I'm hopeful like you but they have a much easier schedule than us... Oh wells one game at a time right? Huge game coming up against Minni.
  12. Woah... Easy there bud.. Major chip on your shoulder... I'm merely saying it as a hopeful Canuck fan. Obviously, odds are heavily stacked against them... Even had they won tonight, I'd still think odds were against us. It's been that way since TG left the team 8-15-2.. Not everyone is coming after you to argue.
  13. Tonight shows this is a tough league. Most ppl would think Canucks would win tonight. Most ppl would think Vegas would have best NJ last night. Upsets happen and LA is no different
  14. I think you should include Anaheim if you are including islanders and Columbus... I don't know why I'm even playing this game but my count, BB's Canucks have got 30 out of 40 pts to the teams that are already eliminated... TG's Canucks got 10 out of 24 points Now if you include all teams the same trend happens. We also beat playoff teams at a much higher pace than TG did.
  15. LOL so would you rather have TG back? If you wanna do comparisons, how about we compare everything? 59 pt pace for TG and 109 pt for BB. One can say if BB was here from the beginning, dropping a pt this game would be like water off a duck's back. Canucks have been playing in a pressure cooker for the past 5 months thanks to TG. How about TG has coached 25 games while BB has coached 52 and TG has 15 regulation losses to BB's 13. Bringing up TG as an I told you so moment after this game is hilarious. He's the sole reason we are in this predicament.
  16. It was just a very sloppy game... Canucks had many chances but so did Ottawa. They hit like 3 posts from grade A chances. If the Canucks can't shut down a team Like Ottawa in a must win game and give up all these chances, they have no business going to the playoffs
  17. It's not over but man do we make it hard on ourselves Pretty much need to go 5-0 now and end with 97. Gonna be tough to do when facing flames, Oilers. Kings, wild etc.. LOL jeez that was a choke job.
  18. Yup Games pretty much what I expected. Fancy over passing, missing the net, not enough grit / garbage goals... Guys got away from the game plan. Miller started the PP by shooting right away. They scored 2 in 10 shots and thought it'd be an easy game. They started making really dumb decisions. Same old Canucks lol.
  19. Well Hamonic fit the bill but there was obviously some issues.. I wonder if there are any other guys like him who would be a better fit. and by top 4 D, I mean 4th D lol
  20. like Hossa and his equipment allergy? joking. i heard that was legit...just very strange
  21. I am all for trying to re-sign Miller this offseason but if he donest sign and wants to wait until offseason, I'd be ok trading him in the summer and get some good young players like a Podz,Rathbone and a 1st and bet on the team to make the playoffs without Miller. Worst case, keep Miller and deal him at the TDL after lockign in a playoff spot. Weve seen too many contracts age badly. an 8 year deal for Mllsy will for sure end that way unless they have a gentlemens agreement that he will LTIR and retire if his production falls below 0.6 pts per game etc. How many 37 and 38 year old forwards are in the top 20 scoring in the league?
  22. I think the world at this point doesnt care about covid and will continue on. What do I know, I live in Texas North.
  23. The main thing is, dont be too fancy and overpass in this game. If we lose, that'll be how we lost. We outshot them, but couldnt score blah blah blah... Be direct, force the issue and get shots on net and crash the crease.
