Nash plays Flames x2 Wild AVS Lightning Coyotes They could easily end their last 6 games 2-4 and 95 pts... 1-5 would be a dream come true... -

NJ has done a solid for us in April. They beat Dallas in regulation as well. I don't feel so bad losing to them earlier in the season. They have a bright future. -

Canucks are down 4 pts but have a game in hand. If they beat the Sens tomorrow and beat LA in regulation, they would be tied in pts but win the tiebreaker. -
[PGT] Arizona Coyotes at Vancouver Canucks | Apr. 14, 2022

It'll be interesting... Many of us at one point of the season were disappointed with how the team came out flat and put the blame on Horvat's leadership. He's been so good the past stretch including his faceoffs.. Boeser showed during this team's surge that he may be expendable. Hopefully he comes back and picks up the slack with Horvat gone. I think we'll miss Horvat the most in faceoffs. I feel like the bumper spot and regular game. Play, we have guys that can chip in and fill. The void. -

Ugh Horvat out for at least 2 weeks... -
Personaly I feel like he's earned a chance to move up the lineup but he was such an important factor in the 4th line that the team was scared to displace him from that line. When hogz was in a slump or Pearson was injured, if they had a Richardson and Lockwood playing like they are, I'm sure they would have given Motte a look in the top 6. Problem is, that would have crippled our bottom 6 and the team didnt want to do that. I mean, that SE road trip for example... we were decimated with injuries and our best line was our 4th line that road trip. Why would they risk disrupting literally the only good thing we had going at that time by moving Motte up?

I'm hoping for the outside chance that Dallas slides. Our best chance to make up ground was with Miro Heiskanen out but now that he's back, it'll be challenging for sure. I do like that stars play Wild, Flames, Oilers, Knights and Ducks. They can easily lose 3-4 of those games and if we win our remaining game with them, it'll be crazy I dunno what the situation will be when Vegas plays Dallas... Who knows who we need to cheer for. If. LA and Dallas are collapsing, maybe we end up cheering for Vegas. Or maybe if Vegas loses a bunch and are out of it (they have the Toughest schedule) maybe we cheer for them as they re a non factor... They could easily lose the next 4 games... I like that the Flames can hit 100 pts tonight in front of the home crowd by beating Vegas. So many scenarios

Yeah I've said it before as well Podz is a no risk, all upside player. What I mean by that is that I'm not a huge advanced stat guy but when Podz is in his prime, I am willing to bet that he is a monster Corsi player. When he's on the ice, he is solid defensively and suppresses chances against as he makes the smart high iq plays. What's better is that his skating and effort level matches his intelligence. Tie that all in with his skills and physical strength and the dude is a coach's dream. If he was a centre, he'd a a perrenial Selke candidate. Him and Petey are the top 2 2 way forwards on this team by a wide margin.

We have great young players in key positions and some assets that we can dangle. Petterson, Hughes and Demko. We need to build around these guys. We have young players in key support positions like Podz, Hogz who are top 6 material. Horvat is still young. Guy is 27. Garland is 26. Our bottom 6 looks as good as its been in a long time and Lockwood is emerging to be a full timer next year. Lammiko and Highmore are both 26. Just enough experience for bottom 6 but young enough to be hungry. Same for Burroughs. An absolute steal as a bottom pairing dman. OEL contact will be hard to move but he is playing first pairing dman for us and has looked fine for 80% of the games. Guy would be a 50 pt dman taking all the top matchups if he had first unit PP time. We have a coach that can maximize output. We then have plethora of talent we need to figure out in who to keep and who to trade. That's guys like Miller and Pearson (both 29), Boeser, Myers , Poolman, If it was me, I'd run it back next year with the exception of Boeser. If there is something we don't know like Boeser was nursing an injury all season, I'd Re-sign him to a show me deal. If he was healthy the entire time, I'd trade him. I'd also explore the market for Miller. If we can pry a solid top pairing young dman, I'd do it.

I think the Hammer move was more of a locker room move and perhaps even finding cap flexibility for next season without too much drop in play for Dermott. Also yes, I think most of us are glad that we have the younger better goalie locked down on a cheaper contract than markys 6x6 as an aging vet. Ppl suggesting that we should have traded Marky at the TDL while Demko was unproven and we were fighting for a playoff spot is out to lunch. (unless they had a crystal ball and foresaw demkos Vegas bubble performance) Or Ppl that suggest we should have traded Demko after the bubble... Sure. Why don't we trade the better younger cheaper goalie for a solid but aging vet who will command more money? Also, Demko value for trade was not worth it. Just enjoy this team. We have a good thing going

Yeah all good points. You gotta wonder how Schmidt would look on our blueline under BB in a high pressure system rather than TG and Baumers in the give up the D zone entry and go into passive zone. Not that these 2 players are linked but I'm happy we got OEL anyway. He's looked good and steady. He ran an amazing PP while quinn was sick.
